Canuk Seeds: GDB Just Canuking Around

Means that it contains higher levels of nutrients than babies can handle.
Oh I see.

Makes sense.

I follow the grow road which has already been paved for me lol. I start seeds in a seedling mix and clones in a propagation mix. I buy local. I try not to reinvent an already working wheel.

Hello all.

I'm not getting much love from my @Canuk Seeds.

They've been in damp paper towels for 3 days now. Six seeds total and all I've got are two tap roots, and those are tiny.

Purple Punch - one with a small tap root and one unopened.

G13 - both shut up tight as clams.

I'll leave them for a few more days but my faith is waning.

--------------------------

Shit happens- it just seems to happen to zooted folks a little more often...🥴
Early and often! :)
I'm thinking it may not be you, zooted or not..that batch of seeds may have a problem- maybe they got too hot or tooEar cold in shipping, or something like that...seems like at least one should of stuck it's little tongue out from a 24 hour soak... 🤔
You may be on to something Carcass. Even those that did pop didn't grow decent tap roots.
You're not the only one GDB, I have had seeds in paper towel for four and three days respectively and neither have sprouted. My Chocolope from a different source has already pushed its head up through the dirt.
Sorry you're having issues Carmen. Contrary to the popular saying, misery does not like company.
If I have some that don't respond i drop them in shotglass of water with the 2% H2O2 and check them daily for the root tail to poke out then I transplant to dirt leaving seed visible but oriented correctly.
Dont dispose of any seeds until you try this
Thanks for your input Absorber. But the trash bin is their more likely end if they don't act right soon. I ain't got time to keep muckin' around with them!

Thanks for looking in.

that would be frustrating to deal with hope it gets solved

Hello all.

My waning interest in the Canuk seeds has led to increased interest in my monster-cropped Forbidden Fruit clones.

After all, if I can get them to grow I'll have more FF! :Rasta:

I put them into 1 gallon pots today, with mycos and used FF Ocean Forest. I don't know how long before she'll move on from those single-bladed leaves but I've got time to wait.

I'm also going to drop a few seeds for the @SeedsMan Black Sugar grow.

I'm a senior citizen and times a wasting!

Thanks for your visit.

Just chuck them in a cup of water before throwing away leave it for a week checking daily you'll be surprised 😊

I hate it when seeds don't go-
I've got way more experience than I need in that dep't..🤪
I don't know how long before she'll move on from those single-bladed leaves but I've got time to wait.
They sure do some weird shit during the monstercrop/cloning process....
But I think those 2 are gonna be memorable, once they get it figured out👍

One has that same sideways crack that Carcass got in his recent batch, and I've never had luck when they crack that way either.

Are they all being kept nice and warm? That's the only difference I've found with my seeds when they don't split...too chilly.
I guess seeds must be like any form of procreation, look I’m not sure if that’s the right word lol, but what I mean is where there is a seed, there is the risk of a genetic defect. Seems while the vast majority of seeds are good, there is always that one suspect.

I plant straight into dirt and I recently had a seed explode through the dirt, I think from the side split too, and the helmet was encased. Like a medieval torture device. It was locked shut. When I did an autopsy, she legit had the longest tap root ever. Like she was trying hard to live, but without a body it was never going to work out lol.

Where do you store your seeds?

When I up-potted them the monsters' roots were all concentrated at the bottom of the solo cups. They were making their way up through the soil but had only reached about one half way.

I just found that interesting.

I put the G13s back into water.

They are nice and toasty.
Where do you store your seeds?
In the back of the bottom of my fridge.
I store mine in the back of the fridge.
Copycat.
Crossing fingers for some luck with those beans. Monstercrops are crazy little creatures. Have you grown one out before? They’re lookin snappy in their 1 gals, happy lil monsters. :morenutes:
Thanks HH. This is my first time trying one. I hope they're gentle with me! :)

My apologies to all for having wasted your time here. But I'm pretty sure this grow is going nowhere.

When I inspected the Cement Shoes seeds today the one with the side split was still inert. The one that had the small tap root, well, that small tap root was laying next to the seed.
Cement tap off 10-25-23.JPG

I threw them both in the trash.

All of the other seeds were in the same state that they were yesterday. The G13s remained uncracked. The Purple Punch that had the tiny tap root, well, that tiny tap root had turned brownish. The other PP seed remained uncracked.

I threw them all back into shot glasses of distilled water, but I suspect that's just a temporary stop on their way to the trash bin.

This has been a debacle and somewhat of an embarrassment. Again, my apologies.

PEACE

No need for that, GDB- I think those seeds must have been damaged in transit..
All the skill in the world isn't going to get a dead seed to sprout..👍

GDB don't be embarrassed. You've done what was asked. I have had four Canuk seeds out of 5 in shot glass / paper towel for 8 and 4 days respectively, and our temps are in the twenties. I have sprouted others at the same time, so I know it's not me. I have left the seeds in paper towel after giving them another soak in 2 % H202 🤞
