Homer would sit down with everything from the fridge on the table to eat.. Homer wouldn't let food go to waste

I feel for ya.. I'm waiting for mine to die any minute.. The alarms keep going off even when the doors are shut, and it's making funny noises sometimes. Expensive noises! I won't fix a 10 year old fridge, and I can't afford a new one so....fingers are taped together crossed...
The Homer in me is screaming THE FOOD!! WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE FOOD!!!
 Love that Homer!

This fridge/freezer is 20 years old. There is no money for a new one, like you. No choice but to fix it myself. I think I did, will know in the morning for sure. Compressor is working now!

Homer would sit down with everything from the fridge on the table to eat.. Homer wouldn't let food go to waste

For sure!

Hey Santb
Check for a really really big mouse nest behind the coils or under them, and the insulation torn apart and scattered everywhere. and all those pieces of cat food you've noticed missing and you know kitty doesn't eat that much! Yepper.....It was a mess. EVERYTHING was plugged up solid.

Ask me how I know........

If you want more info on what I did, just PM me. I can probably help you with yours by doing some simple maintenance steps. Plug ups are common, especially on the older ones. But ya gotta get the back of it. :)

Cheers I'll have a look and see what I see.. Our cats are pretty quick with their food, tho... We also have one of those sonic pest deterrent things.. Seems to work; we get almost no cockroaches (thank the stars.. I hate cockroaches) or other crawlies; the odd Huntsman spider but even they are rare, which is unusual for where I live.. Spiders everywhere, everything can kill ya etc [insert favourite Crocodile Dundee quote here].
Anyway, crawlies are the norm here, and we don't get them. Rats are occasionally caught by 1 of the cats, but always from outside.. In in the 'burbs, but it's an older, 'leafy' 'burb.. Plenty of foresty bits around, and a National Forest just up the road, like 2 minutes away..
This place is too small for us not to notice a rat living here!
Sounds like your old fridge is probably just better made, and thus repairable, unlike my newer, "disposable era" fridge.. I might get it re-sealed though... Might fix the bloody door alarms...

Sorry to hear about your freezer, that is enough to make a grumpy old man a grumpier old man. Who would have guessed that not only are you a skilled grower but also a handyman to boot. 10 years from now when someone asks about your freezer I will be the 1st to say "She's Still Got It":high-five::cheesygrinsmiley:

Hi santb................what did you mean by this statement?^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I've heard about some type of "sonic pest deterrent" but never tried one. Do they work? Will it hurt cats or dogs? Would it work in the grow room & keep out the spider mites? Any feed back would be great.

:thanks::cco::thanks:

Yeah it's just this small device that plugs straight into the wall outlet, and emits both "electromagnetic" and "ultrasonic" frequencies alternately; 1 for rats and mice etc and 1 for the bugs. It does not seem to work on small flying insects, unfortunately.. But I can testify that it does not bother cats or dogs, no large bugs or rodents.. Not sure exactly what it's called; I know there are expensive commercial versions but I got ours at at a supermarket for like $20.. We've had it for a few years now also..

Cats have been my own worst problem for clogging up vents here through the years. That pet dander and hair, especially the long hair cats like mine, is everywhere. No see'um but it's all over the place. LOL Love my kitties, but they do cause some issues. ;-)

Freezer is working wonderful this morning! However....fridge..nope. Blocked line for the air coming in. (Probably frost) Easy fix. Later.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Tomorrow is no worky and I'm spending some quality plant time indoors and out!

I have a 5 year old upright 10cuft freezer that sudenly stopped cooling. Mouse free environment. It needed a full defrost, but after the defrost it still didn't cool. It's now been unplugged for several months.

Any advice on fixing/paying for repairs/sending to the dumpster before I move?

I'll PM you a little later. I've got a stand alone upright as well, about 8 years old. :) Can you PM the brand/model?

:ciao: sareciag :)

Take your time, that's a LOT of pages to read. I update what's going on currently pretty regular, so don't worry if you think you aren't caught up. Just read back a few pages and you should be up to date.

I am seriously enjoying the weather, had some rain last night and it was needed for the outdoor kids. Today is cooler and mostly overcast, so I'm getting inside things done.

Have fun and if you have any questions, feel free!

Okay everybody, it's chop time! Blue Blood "Gloria", and Blue Dream "Motoco's Mirage" are ready. I think Gloria could have been chopped a couple days ago, based on the amount of amber, but I've got a drug test coming up tomorrow morning and I'm not taking any chances on anything right now! So, she comes down tomorrow. Blue Dream has a few amber started, so I"m going to go with the chop if that's okay with Brother dear (CCOoiler).

Here's some Trichome shots, without a tripod. Will get better ones tomorrow:

"Thea" Custard Cream is not ready yet. She' starting the yellow leaves issue again, so because this has happened a couple times, I think she's just a picky plant that wants more than others. I have two more flowering, and they have so far no yellowing action going on.

I'll have full plant pics and bud shots later on tonight.

Here's three outdoor cove girls. They are getting along just fine, I weed down there everyday around them. I'm going to need to get in there with shoes on and start chopping the larger growth behind them:
