Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I won't be doing anymore of these two month long time lapses. This was a ton of editing, in addition to losing some vids from a memory card. Adjusting the camera for growth, does nothing more than make it jumpy.

I do think it's cool how the soil blend dries after watering, it looks like there's bugs all over it as it settles back down. (I did have a gnat problem toward the start of this girl though) LOL The last two weeks there was no real movement on the plant at all because the leaves were so stiff with trichomes. Welcomed problem, I'll take that again in a heartbeat.

Anyway....

Lil' Purp...This was your life:

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I dry in my flower room which varies from 50-70% RH. I hang above the lights, but it is plenty bright.
I THINK my dry times are usually in the 8-12 day range, though I have gone up to 16 days before branches snap.
I'm not real good at keeping track of such things. They finish when they finish.

My wispiest dried flowers came from my hardest fresh buds. The moisture left the buds but they didn't shrink. :)

+reps on your lil purp video - It's like 100 pretty photos without tiring my scrolling finger.

Thanks, Canna -- that was lovely. I'm always awed (and slightly freaked out, to be honest) by time lapses of plants growing. They are so frickin alien to my mammalian mind, and yet we share the planet with them. I love the dance of Lil Purp's growth and the the quiet stillness as she ripens near the end.

Makes me think of my mum, who's 90 right now. She's deep in her childhood memories and is amazed at how vivid the past is for her. I think she's had her dance and is now ripening, for whatever harvest awaits her :)

:Namaste:

Makes you wonder if the plants see us in amazement as well.
I suspect I'm going to be seeing more of the same from my folks, they are just starting to relive the childhood in conversations. More and more stories come 'round when we're together. Some very surprising that we siblings never knew, and some over and over again.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I think plants sense our presence and respond to the energies that we possess. I really think you could take two growers and make them do exactly the same thing, even make the same cuts and training and that the plants would come out differently according to the energy of the cultivator. We create a relationship with our plants. When we grow a plant through many cycles that relationship deepens. My friend and I have grown Twister for almost 2 decades. Together at first and now separate. Our twisters are so different that it could be a different plant. We do use different nutes but I know that even if we used the same nutes we would see the same line of phenotypic expression that we always see and that it would be different from one another.

I'm going to be testing that out Shiggity. My brother is going to start growing with some beans and soil that I will get him started with.
He's got a very short temper...has zero patience..and has a terrible aversion to showing affection.
I love him.

We'll see how our individual styles and temperaments show their differences.

And the Oscar for best cannabis related short film goes to.... Cannafan! :bravo:

That is so cool. Thank goodness she maintained a diminutive stature. Can you imagine how hard it would have been to do that if she grew 4' tall?

The women in my family who passed over 90 all had healthy lives until suddenly they shrunk in on themselves and passed quietly in their sleep.

I was going to say shrunk like ripening pistils, but your post was so poetic and poignant it seemed cheesy of me. That said, I still went for it :)

My grandmother had amazing legs. She never had varicose veins. When she was 72, I was following my grandma through a department store and realized she had better looking legs than my 17 year old sister - who was hot !

It's experiment time.

Germination Methods

I'm going to experiment with different germination methods to see what produces the fastest and healthiest sprouts. These will be germed following the different methods, then all planted in one long container at the same depth and soil mix. I will label each row, and there will be three seeds per germ method to ensure we have at least one that will break soil.
"Oh, that's going to be expensive using your seeds to play around with!", you say?

Well, not really. I have one full pound of german hemp seeds here that I bought for another purpose (sprouts in food), and they are perfect candidates for this because I know that they are viable seeds. I sprouted a bunch of them right after I received them.

Now, what I need is for some of you to tell me what your favorite germination method is so I can get some variety in this experiment.

Mine is, overnight in rainwater until they pop open, then into a damp paper towel container and wait for at least 1/4" taproot, then plant about 3/4" into soil.

Anybody else with a little different method, or completely different method that we can compare?
I'm going to try 3 going straight into the soil with no pre-soak as well.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Hey Sista, how about just soak in ph water and then straight into the soil?

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Some people swear by, putting fine sand paper in a box and shaking the seeds in it?

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

One last but very important method..................just before planting the seeds, stand on one foot.....hop up & down.......while spinning a plate (plastic) over your head.........on a full moon................thoughts Sista................you are my Sista so you don't have to be nice...:thedoubletake:

:cco::love:.............I think I need more coffee.................or Oil :Namaste:

Okay, I have that on my list. How long would you like to see it soak in the water?

I remember that. It supposedly helps to scrape up the outer shell to get moisture in there. I think I even have a box that I used for the method, an old matchbox lined with sandpaper.
