It obviously can be done but I am with you. It is just to easy to mess up your whole grow with one of those pesty little f^$%ers around. Canna did it beautifully but she has an awesome grow space too. Good Luck...:goodluck:

It's time to say goodbye. Goodbye to male number 1, the Rawdawg 2 plant. He is a healthy looking plant. I regret that I didn't get any female Rawdawgs, but that's the way the genes crumble, or grow, or whatever. So Mr Raw Dawg the II shall be sacrificed this evening and ingested as our first juicing.

Woohoo! I'm excited now! My first ever successful rooting of a clone cutting! I have two clones that have rooted so far.

My experiment was sort of a test run, because the Blue Cheese isn't a priority for me. I put four cuttings in those expandable disc things and four directly in water in cups. I don't like the expandable disc things AT ALL and I won't be using them again. I'm going to use Rapid Rooters or something like that, next. The problem with these is that my cuttings didn't stay straight up most of the time. I'm convinced this is why two of the cuttings haven't rooted yet. The cuttings in the water cups haven't rooted, but they are still alive and looking like they want to. I changed their water and covered the cup with black plastic. Going to see if that makes a difference.

Meanwhile, I have two new clones that need planting!

Ooh, Now I can't wait to clone Penny Wise 1 and Dawgfather! This is going to be a good year, indeed.

I also noticed that all of my plants are now begging to be transplanted again. Been less than two weeks! The roots are appearing at the bottom of the pots. This is definitely why some of the growth has slowed a bit over the last few days.

Going to water tomorrow, wait another day, and then transplant the females. The males can suffer in the smaller pots. Only one of those dudes may survive, MAY is the key word!

Today was busy. Watered the ladies, preparing them for transplant, maybe even tomorrow.

I picked up some supplies, including more soils and other amendments.

Here's Penny Wise 1 today. I wish I had a better camera for these pics. The lens is wide, so I think it makes things look a bit distorted, maybe smaller.

Anyway, PW1 is very healthy and I love her quite a bit. I can't wait to flower her out - AND to clone her! But first, she's going into a 10 gallon fabric pot....

So, I did some more shopping. Hopefully I'm done now, at least for a while!

I picked up some 7 Gallon square fabric pots. At least one of my ladies will go in there. 10 Gallon Roottrapper II for Penny. I also picked up some organic worm castings, some dolomite, and some Happy Frog. ( which I will mix with the Ocean Forest and what's left of the TGA Super Soil ) This should be enough soil for the transplant for flowering, and then some. I also picked up a few other items.

I will start transplanting, perhaps this evening. Once the ladies are transplanted, I'll veg for another week or two before flipping. I'd like to get their roots established and get them a bit bigger first.

Meanwhile, I have some of the Blue Cheese clones planted in cups now. It'll be interesting to see how they grow from here on out.

I'll get some pictures of the goods and the process a bit later.

Finally, I should have my flowering space arranged by Monday or Tuesday. Things will really start looking different then.

Big transplant day. Penny was clearly ready. The other two could have waited another week, perhaps. But sometimes, when you're getting things done, you gotta go for it. The transplant on the two Dawgfathers was harder, as they weren't quite as root ready as Penny was.

I'm taking a gamble on one of them, because I'm not sure what the sex is yet. However, since the males are all clearly showing at this point, I'm feeling hopeful that it is indeed a she.

That was a lot of soil to mix up!

I still have 3 males left, which are not pictured in this post. You can see some of my Blue Cheese clones in the corner there. They're just hangin' out.

One of the males, the Rawdawg, will get juiced tonight or tomorrow. The fate of the other two is undecided at this point.

Tomorrow I'll start some tea. I figure the freshly transplanted plants will be in shock for a couple of days.

I really like the 7 Gallon 'yield pots'. They hold a lot of soil and are a great value. They cost less than half of what I paid for the 10 gallon pot Penny is in. ( $8 bucks for that one )

Thanks Cronic! Yeah, it's not bad, especially considering it was definitely a budget tent. It's almost 100% dark inside when zipped up. ( couple of pin holes, nothing that can't be fixed up ) I'm quite happy with the quality. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the extra tray that is included isn't made from a single piece. But overall, I'm stoked with it so far. I would buy another one.

Enough room for 1 - 4 healthy bloomin' ladies!
