For medical use only. Removing water from 151 Everclear for purer CCO extraction #1:
This process is simply removing water for purer medications. We are NOT making alcohol.
0:45 hour at about 45% power, I have drips of distillate from the mod-ed Megahome water still with temp control, plugged vent hole, and independent fan power. I could have powered up 100% until boil and distillate flow (10 minutes) and then backed the power down to 45%, but I wanted to see how long a 'gentle' boil would take at 45% from the start.
1:00 hour now at fast drip, at 45% power.
2:00 hours at 45% power, maintaining same fast drip (140-150/minute). Sampling.
2:00 hours from 45% power on...guessing 35% volume recovery so far at (just shy of) 180 proof (measured). Cool to touch...IDK how to compensate for temp! I'm close.
2:40 hours separated about 40% of original solvent at 180 proof. I'll use it to compare the second 'part' to the first in case of/to mitigate dilution at the end of the process.
3:00 hours at 45% power, maintaining same fast drip.
3:30 hours separated about 25% additional of the original volume of the alcohol at 178 proof and added to first part.
3:35 fast drip, 2/3 original volume recovered.
On paper, 3/4 volume should be all the alcohol in 151 original proof Everclear. And it would be if it were 200 proof I was extracting...but it's not...do the math boys and girls.
3:45 hours and drip at about 120/minute, down from about 150/minute max.
4:00 drip to 100/hr.
4:10 stopped process. Cut heat, collected distillate...168 proof/about another 15%.
Result: 1400ml @ 151 proof =====>distilled once @ 170 deg F.=====> 1100ml @ 176 proof.
21% loss of volume with a 13% increase in purity...one more time should give 4/5 ltr usable solvent near 190 proof.
Compare to: 200 proof KleenXtract, after two batches of oil making, is now 190 proof.
Where did this water come from, you ask?
I know, I know !!!
Out of thin air.
Moist air, actually.
Soakes it up, I'm told. Who knew?

Removing water from 151 Everclear for purer CCO extraction #2:
Add non iodized salt to Everclear. Shake for 5 minutes. Let settle. Remove the upper layer with a turkey baster or carefully pour off. Save this part, it's the alcohol. The lower layer is saltwater. Water and alcohol are missive (they mix at any amount). Saltwater and alcohol are immissive (they do not mix). Just pluck out your part. Easy/peasy Petey! See YouTube for videos. It gets harder to separate the two the higher the proof goes. Luck and health.
