Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

That's exactly right D.
Everyone did lots of studies/testing on this, including Tim & I.
Washing longer than 3 mins did not increase the absorption of cannabinoids. And like Ranger Mother (Dennise) said, longer washes amounted to more lipids, waxes & chlorophyll.

Well thank you. I'll be here through Mardi Gras. Try the shrimp.
Lol. I liked the Islanders part. We get confused by yankees with Creoles alot.

I chopped the first of my CBD grows today. I waited a LONG time to get the trichs perfect. I'm pretty stoked.

New Orleans at Mardi Gras is rowdy NOT where I want to be. New Orleans for winter solstice (Christmas) is perfect. Love it!

I ordered my first 1:1 CBD seeds this week: Royal Highness by Royal Queen Seeds, a sativa! :) & CBD Shark Shock by CBD Crew, an indica. Both have a lot of shantibaba strains in them.

I am especially stoked about growing the high-cbd Sativa for daytime oil. The wife smokes a lot of low CBD medical marijuana. She has a high enough baseline of THC floating around her body, it might bring her close to the ideal 2:1 CBD ratio recommended for oil :)

I have the same ones. Look for NeoMed oral syringes, 6ml amber. You can find them on fleabay or amazombie I'm sure. :)

Hope that helps.

It helps very much, thank you. Found them on the big A in many different sizes. Is 6 cc/ml the preferred size?

Yes.. IMO it is and is what Tim suggested.....:circle-of-love:

Thanks for the reminder Dennise. I'll put them in my cart right now. :circle-of-love:

The Memorial grow is up and running. Please join up and pay tribute to this great man:

I have a note in to Teddy to make the title all caps like it was supposed to be. I decided to post this today because I don't think I'm going to have time on Tuesday.

John....are you planning to reclaim the KleenXtract in the still?

Yes, if that still ever gets here...no sign yet and Amazombie now says by wednesday. Holding off making oil till then.

I'm wondering how to keep an eye on the level so the Oil doesn't get burned.

Thanks Johnnyletusknowhowtodothisloveyabrother

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Okay, here's what I'm told..In my words:

The distillers do run a bit hot, about 212 degrees F or 100 degrees C, from user report. The boiling point of water.
Some use a mason jar for the reclaimed alcohol, but you can use the glass container supplied with the unit if you ordered it that way.
It is suggested to put some masking tape on the 1 quart Ball jar and mark a spot on the jar after filling it with the amount of alcohol you will be using to know where 100% of alcohol is. Then approximate where 80% would be and mark that line.

During the distilling process make sure to stop the distiller when the alcohol rises to that level. Then pour the liquid/alcohol from the distiller into the SS measuring cup. Not putting the measured lines on the jar might allow the oil to burn. Do not go past the 80% mark just to be safe. It will go fast because the alcohol distills faster than water. A gallon of water takes 5 - 6 hours to distill. A fifth of alcohol takes 20 minutes or less. The carbon filters, if supplied, are not really needed for the alcohol process. (If you do water distilling you might want to use the carbon filters)
After you pour the remaining fluid into the measuring cup from the distiller, Add a little more Everclear to clean the rest out and just pour it into the measuring cup. (When distilling water, pour some white distilled vinegar in after the distilling process and let it sit a few hours to clean the yucky stuff out of the distiller.)

PLEASE BE SAFE:
I would suggest, and I will myself, do this outside.

This information came from our favorite Wild Man Jim. :)

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I use my distiller indoors as there is hardly any fumes. The only fumes I smell are produced when I am mashing those lovely flowers in the Everclear. The fumes are returned into liquid in the coil of the distiller. That is the distilling process. Steam(fumes) into liquid. It happens in the closed system of the distiller.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Good to know they are on the way to my house now. The prices on fleabay were ridiculous.

Yeah, they are pricey there I see. I was lucky on my first set of them, a friend sent them to me.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Thank you for the insight into using the distiller. I'll be ordering mine this week and it's good to know I'll be able to do this indoors. Cannafan, the idea of marking the collection jar is priceless, and thank you so much for including the speed with which the alcohol distills. You saved us all there I'm certain. When I run my first batch I plan to sit right there the entire time - probably a good idea regardless, eh?

I like the way the distiller simplifies the process and reclaims the alcohol. This is an significant improvement on making oil, IMHO. Thank you all again. :circle-of-love:
