Update on my Mom's skin biopsies. She did the get the results via a call from the Doc's assistant. I like that personal touch for sure.
Of the 10 samples they took from 10 different problem areas, she has one on her back that is Basal Cell Carcinoma. This is a very common cancer condition and totally treatable. She will know more next week during an appointment to discuss treatments and what to do on the other 9 areas that are pre-cancerous (as they told her). Despite how much of it they removed, they certainly could not have reached all of it with so many of them. In our opinion right now.
Sooooo, I had to wonder now.....
She did not use the CCO creme on her back, which is the one that has turned cancerous. She has been using it on the other 9 areas on her arms. Under arm and forearms. Did the creme keep them from being cancerous? We both feel that once she is completely healed from the "removals", that she will keep using the creme. It's not doing her any harm, so she feels it's worth it to keep using it. She has some on her legs too, and she will begin applying the creme to those.
Just FYI, and a danger warning. "Warning Will Robinson!!! Warning! Danger!"
My mother was a sun worshiper for about 50 of her 80 years, to the extreme tanning and burning constantly. She did nothing to protect her skin, thinking that tan made her look youthful and pretty. If you have young adults who love to get out there and get that deep dark tan while burning here and there or not, it WILL catch up later in life. They don't listen, I sure didn't and I wish I had. It's now all she talks about regarding this, all of those years in the sun that she didn't believe would harm her later. She suffered skin cancer on her face about 20 years ago as well. She is not new to this issue.
