Cannabis 1's DIY DWC & RDWC

I can picture it. That would work great. I have all the items to make one, so I'll do it tonight. That is so simple. I dont know why, but I tend to make things harder then they normally are. Just goes to show ya, the simpler the better. I really like that set up.

haha, the microscope.

I got so much shit that i need to get done.. Cementing the PVC stand. Building the PVC drip rings. Then i need to get the water pumps to hook up to the drip rings for the clones in flower. The Sweet tooth is good for like 3 weeks in its 2gal container on its ghetto-style drain to waste tote set up (taking pics of that and putting in LED journal very shortly), So i dont need to build the RTF system for that yet. But the clones need their daily irrigation, and im going to need those air pots that the flood table is sitting on haha.

SO the PVC stand needs to be cemented up right now. Then i need to go to a pet store and get 2, 185-250gph water pumps and some flexible hosing to run to the drip rings. As well as some 4" cylindrical air stones, you know, those big fuckers, and i'm pretty sure i need one more GH air pump!

Fuck..thats like my whole day just running around via transit since i dont drive anymore!

Somehow, i need to take the microscope to best buy and see if they can make the damn thing work, otherwise i have to return it to Scamazon (thank god they have an amazing return policy) and order a different one. This particular one has this Iphone case that attaches to your iphone and you can take 60-100x photos and videos using your iphone camera and this LED microscope.

The problem is, the Case thing, it appears that it comes with the microscope as per reading the product description. But when reading the product title, you would think its just the case... The thing is the case is half the price.. so i'm thinking that it doesnt come with the microscope but in fact its just the case and i have to buy the scope separate.

Check out scamazon dot ca and look for Carson MicroMax 60x-100x pocket microscope, and then look for the case thats compatible for Iphone 4 and 4s and tell me what you think brother.
 
Thats pretty much the same scope I have. It looks like the scope and the adapter come separately. I think Lady GT needs a second job to support all the toys lol!
 
No sir. I did not see the tables.

And I ment to say something before... The RDWC we built are considered Flowering containers. So the combo of Capns top feed and our RDWC go great together

They wont actually be a combo thats together. The RDWC will be separate from the Capn-style set up.

Both will be flowering containers yes. I do not plan to veg in either the RDWC or the Capn-style set up..

For the RDWC, i think i will veg in a 5gal DWC bucket, with my 10" net pot on top. Will top and bend over and over to get a low profile, wide canopy bush.

For the Capn-style set up, I will veg like i currently am. Plants in rockwool cubes, hand watered everyday, drain to waste in veg. Will transplant up pot size until plant is in final, 5.2gal Super Roots Air Pots, then i will put it on drip ring irrigated daily on top of the tote. Kind of wish i got bigger air pots now, cause they sure dont look like they're 20L pots. I should have gotten the 37L which is almost a 9gal pot!!

Med-Man Tables:

The med man tables are an NFT, or Nutrient film Technique, which Med-Man (a BC native, now in Ontario) calls Medical film tables, or MFT.

- They are wooden troughs with vapor barrier on the inside for waterproofing.
- The troughs have lids on top with holes cut into them for net pots.
- The troughs are angled at a slope, yet as level as possible, so the nutrient mixture drains back into a reservoir, via a drain hole cut in the bottom corner of the trough.
- A mag drive pump constantly pumps a very light stream of water over the net pot and growing medium, thus creating a thin film of water that flows down the roots and inside the trough back into the res.
- A wooden light rail is attached above the tables to hang the pulley system.
- The lights are fixed to a 2x4, that is attached via rope and a pulley system to the light rail thats attached to the table for easy lowering and raising of the lights.

I have been pretty busy the last week and just had a major event happen. I dont want to go into details, but its not with the law. I am not sure how much time I am going to have to get on here the next few months. I am not going to abandon my grow, but the updates will be maybe 1 time weekly if im lucky.

Wondering if you guys are still going to to that RDWC grow journal together? I stumbled across this journal the other night and I must say, WOW! Awesome system. Going to Lowes/Depot today to pick up supplies to replicate the system. Great job on the build and thanks for the info!
 
hey there Johnny!

As a matter of fact, we tried to get it started, except C1's Bomb seeds weren't viable. So we have put this on the back burner for the time being until C1 can get a bean order in.

I had 2 THC Bomb seeds, but only one germinated, and is currently growing under a 24w T5HO in a humidity dome. I just placed a new seed order that should arrive this week coming up, with 2 new THC bomb Seeds from Bomb Seeds (as well as 6 other strains!). C1 and myself might choose to do a different strain (a kush variety possibly) but i've seen how this plant grows an it looks good, plus it packs a high THC %.

I am currently building the RDWC, which will only be slightly different in design that Cannabis 1's RDWC due to the fact that i am using slightly larger containers for each RDWC. I'm using 27gal tough totes (i got mine from Rona, i'm a canadian, Eh!) Wally world carries them i'm sure down in the US, as well as Home Deport i'm sure too. Lowes might be a better bet actually as i know a Californian grower who got his from Lowels.

*Edit* i should mention that he does currently have his system all built and has a couple plants in there. He's a busy guy right now, so hopefully he doesn't mind me updating a bit on whats going on in his grow! He recently got a veg tent and a mars II 1200w for veg, with a 2 plant, 5gal RDWC underneath it. Great preparation for a perpetual harvest!
 
Awh man, sorry to hear about the seeds. I think two different grows would be just as great! Just added you as a friend, I appreciate the help and can't wait to check out all your journals! Went to lowes and my local hydro store today and got everything for the system but the 2" uni seals (shocker right ) haha. Got them ordered though, should be about 3-4 days. I already took all the measurements and marked everything out on the PVC piping, I'll be bringing it by my works shop tomorrow to cut it all up. Then just waiting on my buddy who is rooting me some cuttings of THCBomb ironically. This will be my first hydro grow and third grow in all, can't wait!!

As GreenThumb said, we are putting the THC Bomb side by side on the back burner for now. I had a really bad germination rate with the seeds. They were all pretty bad looking from the start with 3 being non viable and the other 2 not doing much but drop a small tap root and die. We plan to either do the THC Bomb still or possibly some GS Cookies......


But as of right now GT is correct on my gardens. I currently have a new 5x5 tent that is dedicated to veg only. I'm using a 1200 Watt MarsII LED light. The actual power draw is 600 watt. So, it is in theory, its equivalent to a 600 Watt MH or HPS bulb. But we can get into those specifics and arguments in a new journal that I will eventually start.
I have a 15 Gallon RDWC to get the ladies grown, then throw them into the big flower tent to finish their lives under a 600 watt HPS bulb each.
