Canadian Growers Group & Friends

The only thing that changed with legalization in any country, Is that the cannabis went from the hands of the criminal black market and into the hands of the criminal corporate market, All while under the flag of so called ... What's good for the people and societies well being. Like the brewery industry the cannabis industry should have allowed craft growers to help grow for larger corporation's... That way we would have had very little or no shortages in product like we have seen with seeds and clones and dried flower, This is because LP growers are only allowed a certain amount of area and production to exist in their facilites to grow and produce certain products and can't afford to change their production facility only at a great cost to them and this is where a craft cannabis business industry of the average home grower could pick up the slack, make a living and in the end everyone would be happy and we would have a more stable cannabis industry in Canada that everyone that grows can be a part of instead of just big corporate.... I do hope the Cannabis Industry if it does go craft based that it doesn't end up like the beer industry where only 6 monopolized breweries brew beer for all the name brand beers and distributing them all around the world. Where as the craft beer industry is stuck to just selling and advertising locally cause they can't afford the big distribution chains and advertising to get their product out ,do to unfair corporate laws. Heck we are already seeing it start up in the cannabis industry when they passed legislation stating you needed a fully built out facility before they would even consider you for a legal grow license, But a brewery can be up and running in a persons basement under the title craft brewing? How about the law makers allow the start of craft cannabis growing? ;)
You lost me at ‘criminal’
namaste ! :green_heart:

How come?.... Before legalization if most people were not growing the cannabis or knew a hippy friend that grew, they were sourcing it from the criminals in the black market that sold other harder drugs or things, Nothing wrong with that, It was just where you had to go to get what you wanted in your choice of party favors for the night. Now in this day and age people can order up craptastic weed toted as amazing weed from m.o.m. shops everywhere for a premium price now that to me is criminal... lol ;)

cannabis has only been illegal since colonialism . 80 years at best . but has been around since the dawn of light .
If you replaced the word ‘ criminal’ with ‘ advocate, patient, farmer I might have read the rest if the words .
I was salty yesterday ...forgive me .

I guess my wording could have been better in describing my thoughts, I agree with you that cannabis is a sacred plant and helps many in this world, and it has been cultivated for thousands of years by amazing people, farmers, advocates, hippies, mom's, dad's, ....What I was getting at is how in the last 4 decades since the 60's cannabis has went from a free loving health plant shared by everyone behind closed doors to now a traded commodity on the open stock exchange and handled only by a few corporate entities which in my view are business monopolizing criminals and goes against the true meaning of the hippy movement... When it should have stayed and grew in the hands of the common every day person like it did in the beginning of time...but like anything good in this world some ass hat will come along and try to control it (Big corporate) and ruin it for the rest of us.... My hippy uncle that just passed away a few years back would be rolling over in his grave from the way cannabis has been monetized by the corporate world and how the home grower (us) is being slowly outed, when they should respect the fact that we were the first people to start the idea of a cannabis industry in most of our country's. :)

Well put Herb I agree with your point of view 420% :thumb:

If everyone in Canada grew there 4 legal plants that would put corporate growers out of business!
Thanks oldsmokey and I agree 420% with what you just said, In sayin if everyone grew their 4 plants, Its so true!...

That's why I tell every new cannabis consumer, Grow your own, your better off and if you can stick to using regular cannabis seeds do so, cause it gives you the grower the total control over genetics being used in the buds you are consuming,... Or in seeding projects with growers trying to create a stable strain and transitioning from grower to an up and coming cannabis breeder. Don't get me wrong if your just a grower to consume then by all means autos' and feminized are great and the way to go for the consumer type grower, but if you like to grow to create and breed new strains and some day produce a stronger better strain to help people, Then regular cannabis seed is the way to go. :)

If you want something fucked up, let the government take control haha I do agree with all of your sentiments :)
again, I was salty. Sorry !!

education and normalization will play a large roll in years to come i think.
frankly , home growers don’t have the resources , scientists., or ability to utilize the plant to its full potential so I’m torn

i try to take the time to educate poo poo naysayers . Because I was one of those naysayers ..I wasn’t born a ‘pot head’ haha ..I came by it when traditional ‘ acceptable’ western medicine failed me . Not because I was a hippy or criminal.
I‘d like to think I’m evolving and i am so grateful that . I’ll also admit I know nothing about the plant and it’s potential benefits and frankly neither does the gov’t or corporate world. CBG ? What the fuck is CBG ? Did you know it has cured cancer in lab rats ?

I can’t thank the advocates and 420 warriors for their efforts to get us where we are today ..baby steps .
I would still be spinning my wheels medically Without their sacrifices. MAD RESPECT
anyways ..Sunday Funday ! :Namaste: :hippy:

Unfortunately with our 4 plant limit, breeding is out of the question

I agree with ya 100% and I never found you salty my friend lol... more like passionate like me, About an amazing plant and its history with humanity and were its going with its future. ;)

Yes I agree it would be nice be able to keep a mother plant and clones and breeding. But to tell you the truth I am thankful for my four plants I'm a chronic user and I can grow more than I need. I honestly thought I would never see it legalized in my lifetime in Canada.

Well... lol .....Nothing against the law about taking a bunch of clones and allowing them to establish roots and having 6 grower friends get together in on a grow project.. one person grows the 4 mothers at their home , one person grows the 4 fathers at their home, and the other 4 people are just veg and bloom houses to watch traits and structure of the plants... which with 4 people remaining that's 16 plants to choose viable pheno types from for future stable strains. Mind you it is a small operation making stability of the strains take longer but it is do able and all legal. ;)

There is a way, it's something I've seen on the board...grafting. Graft the strains on a mother, grow out 3 plants at a time.

The thought has crossed my mind of growing three plants and a then when the girl is done take some clothes off the mother and start again. And I just might do that if I find a suitable strain.
Long term I want a grafted mother for any keeper phenos . I think weaselcracker does grafting ...pretty cool to see multiple strains on one plant.
I always like removing her clothes too
