Hello fellow Canadians,

First time growing outdoors, in southern Ontario,I have a question for you all, do you trim back the outer and inner fan leaves to rippen the buds? Only asking because a friend said he does it to excellerate the buds? They are in full flower and are still bulking up but do not want to screw it up at this stage...

thanks for the input...

Hi NAgrowing Welcome to the thread, As for myself I have never trim back leaves to rippen the buds in flowering maybe for a lil air flow if things get too bush in there, I always figured why mess around with them if they are developing fine on their own, don't want to cause undo stress if I don't have to. Others may chime in with a different opinion. :)

As stated above, I only trim for air.
Those leaves are helping to feed your plant. Youre taking away one of the main ingredients.
No problem with some defoliating, but I like to keep as much as I can.
Have done a little extra trimming this year compared to other years, but only due to PM issues.

defoliating does not accelerate anything,, i defol some lower leaves and inner leaves on my outdoor plants simply for cleanliness near the bottom and air flow in the interior of the plant,, not too heavy and increasing as the plant matures

kelowna,, near record breaking temps going into october :thanks:
