Canadian Growers Group & Friends

canadian sphagnum moss is neutral ph and only grown in some parts of canada, peat moss is acidic and has other plant material incorporated.
I'm 100k north of the big smoke and I'm usually not in ground outdoors till june(1st & 2nd week), use may 24 as clone ready for trade date. use to go in ground may 24 but to risky and now wait till june outdoors. I figure we have a good 5-6 weeks left of growing in my region of ontario then it's finger crossing for no frost till after oct 17th, they predict or someone here predicted oct21 first frost.

Some of us like a more controlled environment where bugs, mold, wind, rain, hail, frost and snow don’t screw with our baby’s
Generally most of those dont bother outdoor plants. Only make them stronger, bigger more lush, and more fruitful. With exception to snow and hail.
Mold well that's environmental (unless you have air tight environment ), but still worth it the challenge to achieve 3 pounds or more per plant. And only have to grow once a year.

Don't have time to babysit hydro. And really don't want to grow indoors, seems unnatural. Why pay for electricity, when the sun far out performs any light. Don't get me wrong, controled environment like that, persons should have the dankest of all weed. But i really don't see that. I won't buy indoor/hydro fruits or vegetables either, if there's an option.

Do any of you outdoor growers with photoperiod plants hit them with light in the middle of the night to induce flowering late June early July? I read years ago about that when all we had were Mexican sativa’s to grow
Never, when I grow in buckets i would move them into a blacked out sheds /tents. Seemed to work but don't forget to, because let me tell you it'll screw them up:rofl:.

I grow as a hobby. I’m retired, so daily maintenance on hydroponic system isn’t a problem. I end up with twice as much bud as I need every grow.

Thats awesome, I generally break even, which is all I really want. Instead of spending 5000$ plus dollars yearly on medical weed, thats what I claim to CRA. Then there is my recreational weed habit  .

Thats cool I hope to get there one day. And will probably dable in indoor growing.

There is a clause in my insurance that states that I have to tell them if I grow weed , I assume it is so they can refuse settlements if something goes wrong. Theft (BnE), fire etc.... they even want to know if I grow outside.... Luckily I live in the middle of no-where and no neighbors.

What the Fak!.... Patch frost!!!.... That would have been me if it wasn't for the wife catching the patchy frost advisory last night.... covered my seedy girl up like a thief in the night lol......Frost before September 21st yikes hope its not a new trend around these parts :(

kelowna still in the weather good books,, and the long range september forecast (bet yer life on this stuff indeed) is looking very nice indeed. but my buds are barely visible,, so far to go still,,

the plants look so swell tho,,

Well was able to check on the seedy gal and she did fine threw the lil frost, Those heavy duty paper yard bags work great for frost covers for plants 4 ft and under in case anyone has to battle frost coming up in the next few weeks. :)

Lol Different story for my hydo grow, Its coming along nicely in the shop :) We should have a UBC Chemo bud harvest and seeded chemo bud harvest going to cross cloudy lake with one of them hopefully all done by November 4th, and then let the cool temps low humidity cure it for the next few months. :)

Good idea HP, but they would only help with my bucket girls lol
Thanks Celt!... Ya I guess I should mention my outdoor grows are mostly in big pots or bags, I guess I like the flexibility to move them indoors or out if needed when dealing with the crap-tastic weather, haven't cut the apron string yet to putting them directly in the ground. lol I even use grow bags for gorilla grows! lol

If you have a large plastic clear tote those work great at the begining of season with frost with seedlings in the ground with hay and mulch surrounding it, I have a fellow grower around here that does it all the time, He likes putting them in the ground as soon as he can light cycle wise. Crazy hippy but heck, he ends up with trees. :)
