Awesome choices on drying and curing guys....I guess I'm old school when it comes to drying and curing, I trim them when wet, hang them in cool dry area to dry, my shed lol, till they bend or snap, then dry trim to clean them up a bit more, Then mason jar burp them for a month, never had any issues with mold or loss of terps smell or flavor. Never used a boveda pack yet, figure why start using it when I can learn to dry and cure fine without it..... I guess I just want to be able to grow Marijuana even if the shit hits the fan with the rest of the world, so as long as I have seeds, dirt, sun and water, I want to be able to continue growing top quality marijuana... lol :)

PEI here... Cool thread thought I'd follow along. This is my White Widow, grown from a leftover seed from a few years ago..she is just starting to flower the last few days. 15 gallon fabric pot of coco topped with straw mulch. Getting fed 4 gallons of megacrop @5g/gallon daily. Hoping the weather cooperates shes later flowering than I was expecting!
Welcome... Cool someone representing the Island! :)

Hey folks I wanted you guys here to be the first to view my first nug photo of my Cloudy lake Kush strain creation. :)

We just had that two nights ago from where I am, If its the same storm system prepare for heavy down pours and winds, It sounded like a freight train go threw the house was so loud.

karma sent friend

oh,, 4 gals of feed every day,, holey moley

double karma to you and me too friend,, cheers

I buy the big ones, one per jar, and it was 118 for 20 of them
So for 3 pounds of pot that would be about 400$ worth of bocevda

Also, I forgot to mention, they last forever unless the bag breaks. I’ve got ones I am still using from 5 years ago
That is good to know, maybe I will start my collection, and stagger it over couple years.

paper will suck the water out and cuts time. i like mason jar method because i believe the weed gets stronger in the cure process. the jar method slows you down enough to get the extra strength in the waiting process.
It is tha only way I usally cure, I think the point was missed, that 72 jars is a lot to deal with. Not to mention other bins of shake.

i buy online weed sometimes if i'm thinking of trying a new seed strain, buy the online weed to see if it's worht it. I have enough of my own weed around and it's usuaaly way better than online stuff so sometimes it takes me months to smoke online weed. i think the online stuff gets stronger (because they don't take the time to cure$$$$$) as it sits in your bag waiting to be smoked, try it i swear the weed gets better.
Sadly as medical patient I have no choice to buy the garbage they provide. Until I start my own medical grow next season.

I'm very very anal about curing weed because i hate hay smell and believe smell and look play apart in your head making weed even better when you smoke, plus bag appeal make more dollars and cents.
Who doesn't, don't care about bag appeal as it is all for me and no one else. And if someone i know says something about, they do not need to smoke it.

I agree :) bud should like like this

not like that washed out grey/green, dry as bone shit they sell at the LC here

I know alot of people are trying the herb dryers or weed dryers and swear you can't tell difference. i have never used so can't speak about it.
Interesting thanks

Not growing commercially and have no need to do it in a hurry, I’ll stick to the way I do it now lol costs me nothing lol
Well that is that idea, I have spent enough this year on growing, didn't want to incur more cost to dry the shit.

Although, might need buckets this year, highly unlikely it’s all going to fit into the jars I have on hand

I was really think about that, but I need to find food grade buckets somewhere.

Thanks for the responses.

Oh, I'm using 1liter jars, sh%t I need to find me some gallon jars. That would make things easier.
Thanks celt,
If you can't find boveda pks to control your drying and curing, I find doing a cool drying to work great, if you can keep your humidity down to under 40% and temps on the cooler side like in mid 50's to 60's and a lite breeze when drying, You will have very low risk of molding and your flavors and taste remain strong. Although it will take a lil longer to finish going this route but so worth it in the end. Just thought Id help the ones stuck without a boveda pack. :) Cheers!

No bovedas here either. frugal me figures I can do the curing job without the expense of a boveda pack. and I will admit to having some mold issues in the past occasionally, mold has been absent for cpl years now. diligence is what is required

SSo I give them diligence instead of boveda

Like h.p. (( @Herby Paisley ) I burp em several times a day for the first month and have been good to go

Cheers friends

Clouds in kelowna today. a,rarety lately

Thanks celt,

You can find these at SuperStore (Extra Food, Loblaws, etc) for about $8 each if memory serves, might be higher now, haven’t bought any in a couple years.

and they come in quart, 1/2gal and 1gal sizes. Great for storing bud.

Thanks Herby, I wont be in a rush, I mostly wanted to try some new ways of drying/curing, this old dog still likes to learn new tricks.

I mean I have dried in the woods, tents, garages, sheds with/without electricity. But that was to just be able to finish trimming and dry just enough to put into large bins to hike out the woods. More recent grows every closet in the house gets emptied in October to make room for bud drying.

I will be trying some of the ways posed lately for sure, and will post the steps I have taken in my journal for prosperity . Just to try something new.

Beautiful, I was looking at Uline, but 57 bucks for delivery, no way. lol.
I will be heading to some grocery stores tomorrow
Thanks Celt,

one thing i might add about my situation,, each of my plants only produces a max of three ounces, and after removing a third or so for cobbing, i only have a couple or three half full quart jars to burp,, and me missus helps with that as well :cheer:

and once in a while i get two plants that get harvested at the same time,, real first world problems there let me tell ya,,

i could not imagine having to burp thirty jars every day. sheesh,, or even trimming a plant that produces that. holey

but if my outdoor plants get even close to finishing i am going to find out

:cough:
