Camper2016's First Grow - Candy Cane Auto

Let me see if I can find a pic of our hygrometer. I believe it cost under $10.00, and is necessary so you know you are at the right levels.

You can see it in the background. It shows temp and humidity levels. It's a great tool to have for your grow.

Thanks for the heads up on this journal MR A. and WELCOME to 420 camper, I'll take a seat and watch this if you don't mind, you've already got good company and I'm sure there will be a lot more turning up in your garden. I'm growing in a cupboard just a little smaller than yours but am using cfl's & led's. I know there not that accurate but I use a black orchid Hygrometer for temps/humidity, only cost about £6-8 of fleabay, they are cheap but seem to do the job for me. Looking forward to seeing your garden flourish:passitleft:

Awesome!!! Thanks...I've heard patience is a virtue. So, I do not want to get over zealous with water and make sure they're getting enough light and the intensity of the light...

You should let the soil dry out. When the leaves are droopy you can water. Make sure to water around the outside of the pots so the roots stretch for that water. We water in two phases. First, around the outside of the pot, then cover the whole soil with water. Then on to the next plant etc. Then when they are all watered, go back to the first plant and ready water like you did the first phase. The second watering should make sure all the air pockets are now wet. Be sure there are plenty of holes in your pots for runoff, and try not to leave too much where the plants sit.
I hope this helps.

Well keep on growing....here are some more pics,,,the two pacesetters are in the back. Front right is a little further behind but looks to be catching up. Front left is slowpoke...just breaking the surface. What's up?

I wanted to do that and had the level of soil higher in the planter, then I watered and the soil level shrunk. I can come back later when the plants have matured and add more, right? That's what I was planning to do...thank you for the positive energy and helpful posts. Need all the good vibes and responses.

I still have the lights set above the plants at 42" and intensity set on 50%.......should I crank up the lights and start lowering the ballast?? FYI, have 600W HPS lights....the lights have been on for 3 days now, have not yet started 18/6.....light levels are 50% 75% 100%.....I'm sure you guys know this, just sayin'

Hi camper. I'm a noob too but what I've read here is to keep the light as close as possible without burning them. You could probably go as close as 8-12 inches...? Hold your hand where the plants are and if it's too hot for your hand then it's too hot for the plants. Check them often and move light up as needed. I'll be watching and am interested in the auto's, might be my next grow.
