Camaro’s First Grow Journal

Looking great bro, flowers are filling out nicely :yummy::bravo:
Thanks brotha, they’re getting super sticky now even just to look at lol. Messed with the plants last night and my hands still stink after washing them a handful of times. This weekend I’m probably cutting the big colas off the blueberry gum soo the rest can get more light, plus the tops are soo dense I don’t want to risk possible bud rot soo the tops are coming off and getting dried and cured while the rest finishes up

You've got it all planned out well! :headbanger: It allows you to stretch out the trim load a bit too.

I try to plan ahead the best I can, and yes cutting back on trimming is always a goal to have hahaha. Someday I hope to be able to invest in a tumble trimmer. Well see if this years outdoor harvest permits that! It’s been years of trial and errors to get to the point I have, sometimes with no help, more recently I’ve been able to run ideas past a buddy who has been growing for over a decade both indoors and out and also in both soil and hydro. I have always thrived with hydro and getting things efficient has been my main focus for a little while now. A couple more tweaks are due and will happen with time. Money has always been the biggest holdup but with each harvest I’m able to invest a little more into the operation. My ultimate end goal is to have a garden that is harvesting once a month of high grade medicine, and the option to do tissue culture if I chose to, with an extraction room for processing what would normally be “waste”, I want to use as much of the plant as physically possible. I already have my cloner box built, I need a mother room and a veg room, possibly 2 veg rooms. Soo 4-5 small rooms in total is what I need to achieve that. Were almost there. My closet I’m going to split into 2 rooms, then I just need a mother room and I’ll be at the amount of rooms I need, then I need to work on lighting and ventilation

Man, I’ve never sent any of my weed to a lab to be tested but I sure would love to with this batch, the amount of frost is breath-taking and I’d love to know the THC/CBD levels.. these are only a couple wispy buds that were on a lower shaded branch that got snapped off

We’ve got similar plans and goals, I understand the struggle brother! :nomo: As long as I can see progress in my harvests and I upgrade at least one piece of equipment with each harvest, things will only get better!

It is a struggle indeed lol. I’m still seeing progress with each harvest. I’d like to eventually build a cob light for the flower room similar to the one fanleaf built, and I’d like my room cooled by either air circulation during the cooler months or I want to build a water chilled water to air heat exchanger for the hotter months. If you look up hydro innovations-ice box you’ll see what I’m looking to do pretty much. I had spoke of converting my led lights to accept duct work at one point, this is exactly why and something I still want to pursue because water has a better cooling capacity than air because it is denser and holds the coolness longer also causing it to be more than twice as efficient as an air conditioner would be

Well, off of the blueberry gum a few days ago came this beautiful top that is ready for the jar as of this morning, can’t wait to taste this plant, the c99 we tried a wispy bud of tasted like candy, this should be an exciting smoke as well! :ganjamon:

Sweet looking bud Camaro :passitleft::rollit:

Being the anxious person I am, I had to pluck a piece off the blueberry gum bud to try, it was dry inside and out but still had the earthy smell to it, upon lighting up, I couldn’t notice hardly any taste yet but boy was she smooth, and not even 5-10 minutes after taking a few hits (still mid smoking the bowl actually) and I’m feeling a good strong buzz come on, I’d say well balanced between body and head high, I am starting to feel a little bit of the dreaded headache that comes with smoking weed not fully cured yet, but it’s not as bad as when you quick dry a bud in the oven :laughtwo: actually, while typing this the headache is already gone or the high is strong enough I don’t feel it hahaha.. I’m deff looking forward to smoking the fully cured version of this!

Sounds like some great smoke Camaro! :rollit:it's nice to grab a bud with every other week of cure to feel & taste the quality increase in the smoke as the cure goes on...:ganjamon:

Thanks gentlemen, been smoking the blueberry for 2 days now, there’s a c99 top that’s due to get chopped off soon, hopefully between this and the c99 when it dries, will hold us over on smoke till the plants are finished, they’re soo close now lol, I don’t want to buy another bag if I can avoid it. As far as the lights BlueLab, I have actively pursued trying to get them to become a paid sponsor and cc’d the folks at :420: with each email. Sadly they rejected becoming one at this time soo to not break 420 guidelines, I can’t talk of their lights on the forum but I’ll message you how to figure out what type of light they are

Thanks, My led experience was less than spectacular :rofl: but that was years ago.

Led tech has come a long ways from when it first entered the Cannabis industry, when it first came out i didn’t even consider it myself, years later and I swear by led, I’d like to get into COB’s, but I feel that technology is still going thru the hype phase that led did when they got the kinks worked out and found a decent price point, were not quite there to the point I’m ready to invest but it’s coming soon lol.. There’s still many other factors that can be tweaked before I worry about lights, I already have enough of that to force my plants to foxtail if I try haha

Speaking of foxtailing, I’m not sure if it’s the pheno that I ended up with or if it’s the strain itself but this blueberry gum plant is producing some crazy foxtails, and it’s not from lighting cause the lower branches are doing it as well. I may try to let this plant run longer than the others because the buds seem wispy in my opinion, sadly if that’s the way this strain is going to grow she’s going to have to leave my garden because I only have room to focus on heavy yeilders right now, I’m hoping the glueberry og I started is going to be a good replacement because the seed bank said it’s a heavy yielding strain indoors or out, we shall see, anyways, here’s some nug porn lol :lot-o-toke:

I had someone tell me the other day that they hated seeing pot that foxtails, I was like why? At least in every instance I’ve seen the tails are pretty much pure bud and hardly any leaf if any at all. Deff the case with this blueberry, and hell yes she’s finally packing on some good weight, I’m getting anxious now but if I can hold out 2 more weeks she’ll have some good weight to chop, a couple days ago I went thru the blueberry gum and pulled ALL the fan leaves off, trying a little experiment of my own lol, if I pull all the fan leaves with 2 weeks left, I’m hoping it will allow the sugar leaves to focus on bud production and it also allows 10x more light to the lower canopy, I need to top the res off this morning and next week I’m going to start my flush with a 1/4 strength nute solution from what I normally do then halfway thru the week I’ll drain and flush the system out good and refill with straight water and some clearex. This is the foxtails as of current :ganjamon:

A lot of people don't like foxtailing as it sometimes occurs when the plant's experiencing light or heat stress but your plant will show you signs of that kinda stress before the buds start foxtailing. Some people say that the buds started maturing but then goes through a new wave of fresh pistils pushing and that builds ontop of the maturing bud. Who know, but it adds extra weight and i like it. :party:

Same here brotha, I love the way it looks and the extra weight, I’ve forced plants to donit in the past, this one seems to be doing it naturally, I’ll take it lol
