Cajuncelt's Spring 2015 Grow - Blue Dream - Bubba Kush - Critical Cure - Etc

So, I learned some interesting things today. I'm comparing what I usually do with what I have to do at work.
These guys grow from seed mainly, only using clones to keep it uniform from time to time.
They only feed the seedlings tea.
They plant in March for outdoors, but do some cool stuff indoors first.
They put the lighting at 18/6, but cut it back 5 mins until it mimicks the sun's time table. Then, outside they go. Never heard of that, but I've seen the results...
They only let the outdoor girls get up to 6' to keep quality. Much bigger & the quality goes down exponentially.
I get to use some Kind led lights on up to 10 of my own to compare with the stock plants. Stupid insisting on the quality of led lights has now put self-induced pressure on the subject around here. Lol.
Later.
Keep it Green.

Love to hear your insight on the way it's done commercially, Cajun....keep it coming....

How often do you guys cut back the 5mins Cajun? Everyday, every 3 days, or what. We can use that system in tents all the way down to 12/12. It would eliminate the indoor growing shock never really talked about here; the drastic flip from 18/6 to 12/12.

That'll depend on how long you want to veg for BAR... Work out 5 mins a day off of 18 hours that gets you to 12 hours. That's your minimum veg time....so 5 mins a day 12 days hour x 6 hours 60 days minimum veg.....

Actually that would be 72 days to get from 18/6 to 12/12 Grizz, about 2 more weeks but you twos are right. Between 45 - 60 days, is about the average time for a lot of us indoor growers to see pre-flowers. So using these mechanical timers most of us use it would be one click every 3 days since most of them operate on 15min intervals. Probably be best to alternate between the "on" & "off" side of the timer.
I'm still waiting for Cajun to tell us how the Professionals go about it.

I personally want that transition shock as long as it doesn't stall out.
I figure it's like telling the plant, "hey, no f'ing around. Winter is coming, so get to flowering".
I've tried lots of stuff from light transitions from 16/8 on, 24 hours of dark prior to 12/12, supplements to bring on flowering hormones... lots of stuff like all of us I guess, but switching them over hard & fast works best on my farm.

I'm crossing some local Golden Goat with another famous local strain at "work". It will be valued Mountain Goat. It's the only strain I can talk about just now. Being local strains has alot to do with it (hint, hint).
I've learned that I don't know jacksh#t about breeding commercially. These folks throw out more than they keep. Blows me away everyday. I like the outdoor grows the best. But, the indoor grows have an intensity or something I like too. I'm not invited to be involved with the breeding yet (for good reason), but it fascinates me.
We send our flowers out to a local concentrate company, but there's enough interest & knowledge that starting an inside lab might be underway here. The jacked up thing is that they're not going to let anyone in Cultivatingb to do both. It'll be "either/or" so I'm conflicted. I'm too new to speak up anyways. But.. If I'm asked...lol.
The outdoor harvest starts in 2 weeks. I won't be on the trimming crew, but I'm so excited to see how they do stuff.
I'm growing 2 local strains in my personal grow & I don't think I'm out of bounds in saying that we've close to ties to some very well known breeders & I get a decent discount for some autos which I'll be adding to this journal.
Hell, I'll get 2 auto harvests before the photos are done. Blue Dream & Bubba Kush need to be vegged at least 70 days or us just get the crazy traits of either.
Sorry for all the crammed info, but I don't get WiFi unless I'm in town.
Oh, the auto stains are/were unknown to me, but I'm assured they're awesome. I'll post them when I get the names again. One of them is called Mexican Airlines & another is Ja's Lamb.

You're just having a ball Cajun; and to think you're getting paid for it! So I'll take your word for it and stick to the quick flip. Like we really needed another repetitious chore added to our gardening anyway. Thanxx...

The light transition they do is to acclimatize the plants to the actual sun's timeline so when they go outside there's not much to stress about.
I might be way off the question. I'm currently dabbing some shatter web got back today from our Pre-'98 Bubba flowers. It is unreal. The taste alone is crazy. But, it is giving me ADHD I think... or do I?

The pay is really pathetic for all the effort. It's almost only a 1/4 of what I made. But, I would pay them to be here. So, my bluff for more $$$ might be seen through at this point.
I've been assured that when I'm a Master Cultivator with my own growers/grows that I'll be very satisfied with what I make. I can wait. Those guys are crazy busy & the stress levels aren't to cool with me for now. Plus, I need to learn WAY more.
There's alot of FUBAR situations in this business over seen so far. They definitely have their shit together, but there's alot of customer service type issues that they don't seem to address. And the greed is real. I'll leave it at that. I'm sure there's a ton of reasons things are so gold rush feeling that I'm not aware of & weren't involved then. I'm not judging yet. The amount of 20-something year old millionaires is a good reason why some things are the way they are. Just lack of wisdom.

Oh, I'll be in Denver the 1st weekend in October with my company. It's at Denvermart & is part of a festival over the weekend. Has music, gypsies & weed. Snoop & other 420 rappers will be there. That's all I know so far.

It'll be interesting to see the industry in say ten years, barring corporate takeover of the entire shebang. After some of the gold rush insanity has worn off. Thank you Cajun for the insight. I know it's really you just sharing with friends the new interests of a new job. There's this little kid quality to the wonder that I find endearing Cajun. I'm so happy for you. And I appreciate your maturity in knowing the money will right itself as you become better and better trained and invaluable to them. Right now think of it as being paid a stipend to go to school. School with cannabis benefits.

Where do I sign up? :laughtwo:

It's an on going apprenticeship. There's only titles because of the legalities.
And the corporate take over is inevitable. As an industry, they're almost begging for it. Cash out & live well. I think the true med side might be what eventually saves it all. It's exciting until the mean time. It's like being in the West during the Gold Rush. Probably newbies opinion..

Cajun, my blood starts boiling when you post what you are seeing....I almost want to call you on the phone to chat in private about what you are experiencing in real time....so f'ing fascinating and on the cutting edge....lots and lots of $$ at stake....I am happy in my legal medical state where I am allowed to grow a shit ton of plants and sell the overages to dispensaries.....no tax, no laws, few rules except to test....that's all I ever wanted...I am watching closely and you are my lifeline.....any morsel you can post is much food for thought for me.....I see a phone convo in our future....

So you're an apprentice? Are they unionizing?

Oops my bad maths, sorry reg, 72 days...that's the problem with maths on the abacus, only x by five, forgot the other hours worth of beads...

Great stuff Cajun. As if your grows weren't already some of my favorite threads now it's even more so. To get an insider's look at the legalized business side of growing from someone I already know and respect is a gem.

I don't count seedling stage as veg....
Agreed, that's why you're right on point with the timeline of 5mins a day. Out of the 72 days it'll take to get to 12/12 the majority of us indoor growers usually see pre-flowers around the 45th - 60th day after sprout or planting of clones depending on when we flip. Since the plants will show pistils before reaching 12/12 it makes perfect sense. I've been paying a lot of attention to timelines lately because I'm concentrating on which type of training can get me to the biggest yield without spending a lifetime in veg.

So far I'm feeling this technique of repeatedly topping a plant at the seedling stage and then laying her out flat "LA style" without doing the Flux training.

Here's one of ours done this way on day 54 from planting in a solo cup, more than ready to flip but I'm waiting on the other 2 plants with her before I make that move.

So you're an apprentice? Are they unionizing?

No, I'm a licensed/ badged Cultivator, but no one really cares about titles. It's the learning process that is like doing an apprenticeship.
