CA215 Indoor #3

Looking awesome CA, I'm Sub'd.
Its really cool how a bunch of us finished very close together and we are all starting new journals, gonna be interesting to see the results the second time or third around now that we have a little more experience.;)

Definitely is, we all have our cured jars hopefully sitting and being burped maybe once a week or two, that was getting fun every other day having my whole house reek of straight GANJ! This will be my first attempt at using a net to hold buds in place, so, we will see how it goes.

Before class I wanted to drop in, I am noticing totally different growth per soils on the sweet cindys and also slight differences in the others. I will elaborate more in detail soon, but I am liking the VF a lot more at this point that FFOF.

Stay well! :joint: CA

I'm a little late since the scalpel already did it's thing to the little lower branches: but when you train it increase the auxins available to the lower branches. For example, this lower branch here:

scrog112.jpg

Is this fairly dominant top at the edge of my scrog.

scrog212.jpg

In fact, the lower branches on both my scroged plants all ended up as pretty dominant tops at the edge of the screen.

I'm gonna follow this. I'm getting away from using factory produced nutes and moving towards top dressing and teas as well.

Thanks for droppin' in PJ! It definitely looks to be a money saver and also more of an organic route, definitely caught my interests.
Still contemplating on the use of AN sensi or AN conossouir. I have also ordered a more heavy duty air pump and sent the other back. Opted for one that was about 5 times as powerful (supposedly) so I will be able to bubble bigger batches.

Really nice looking grow room, love the purple plant :). I know nothing about scrog really so looking forward to seeing this one pan out.
Subbed.

Thanks for subn up Confused1 :high-five:
I set her in there for a little opening of the journal photo shoot :tokin:
She doesn't need that much light so she is set back by the window seal to keep her happy. Think I am going to need all the room I can get on this one :) I have yet to do a scrog grow so this shall may get a little rocky... :Namaste:

That makes sense, perfect pictures PJ thank you much for that! When I was trimming these girls I only did it to the sweet cindys, they just looked a little too far down and everything else is growing too vigorously, big fat fan leaves, I felt they would all get left out. This is not the case with the TH Seeds sage n sours, I left these lower guys due to their structure, I think I will be able to keep the top bush trained whilst the bottoms grow tall and sturdy :) again, thank you for the pictures PJ, direct & informative.

I wanted to also type up some thoughts on the girls at this point, soil, pheno, sex, or maybe just a correlation of em type of deal (if that makes sense ).

Looking at two of the sweet cindys in the back right corner of the tent, they seem to be a lot bushier, seem to be thriving, and are both in the vermifire soil.
100_5258.JPG

The back left corner and middle cindy are a lot lankier, different node spacing than the vf bunch, they look a lot more open. These are in the FFOF.
100_5259.JPG

(and the back left, sorry the lst is bending the top nodes back behind the spring pot)
100_5260.JPG

The sage n sour seem to either again, be different phenos, sex, maybe the soil is having different responses. Very cool.
This one seems to thrive a lot more and is completely bushy!
100_5261.JPG

And this girl again, lankier a lot more node spacing, a lot more open.. and again, Different soils as well.
100_5262.JPG

AND AGAIN.. haha, the hazes seem to be doing the same stuff stated above.
The bushy haze
100_5264.JPG

And the lanky haze.
100_5265.JPG

I am really not sure what all is causing the differences, but in the incoming weeks I think it should be more apparent to what maybe causing this, that be phenos, sex, soil, and what I am feeding them.

Some pictures of the looks of the soil, honestly I like the look/feel of vf and with the growth I am seeing in it I personally might pick up these bags again, but who knows time will tell, time can change your attitude towards many things :)

Looking at the day to day shot, I can see some growth, sweet! Alright ya'll I got class, :peace:

Feel free to leave your opinions and thoughts, :Namaste:

Very nice start there CA, was thinking about a scrog this run as well but with the new beans will wait. As for the Soil I am trying to run everything with the same soil light and water no nutrients just to rule that out, looks like different phenos. My 89 NL 5 crosses are like that right, Will try and get some new pictures up on mine. Killer start, Peace OG.

Thanks for droppin' in OG, anticipating an update from your room! I really wanted to do a scrog with the sc as they are same strain, I may incorporate the hazes and sages in their own second scrog screen. I want to use about 2' or 3' of the back side of the tent for the scrog, so I can still get in there to water and clean stuff up in the back corners.. looking into getting my stuff raised off the ground. Might need to order something off line, Was thinking about getting a nice big reservoir to use as a "cradle" almost for the girls.. Might just go pick up a couple big storage container (low dimension height wise) to house the girls and the run off.

I am also leaning towards different phenos, Looking at the mixes of the VF and FFOF they are really quite similar so diff phenos totally makes the most sense.. I still do think the soil may be affecting some of their growth patterns. And also, these are the sweet cindys, might get some males like you did, or maybe you acquired the only male bean brotha :) Im thinking I have a pH issue also, going to lower my pH to 6.7 next water from 6.8 to see if this shows improvement. Will take a shot here when the light pops on in an hourish~

I need me some thc!! :high-five:

What a bummer, got in the tent to find the back left SC had her top snapped off, my lst might have been pulling her down a little hard, and with the fan oscillating it must have snapped the youngin! Bummmmmer. So.. I'm thinking about defoling these girls and topping the hell out of them, as that one sc is going to be stressed I need to slow the others down.. can't let this throw off my plan for the sweet cindys.. & its not letting me upload pictures at the moment, will give t some time and repost when I am able to! Stay well :peace:

You might give some thought to the porta-SCRoG method I'm using, CA.

I got a couple of tomato cages and trimmed them down to the correct height. Then I ziptied some screen with 2"x3" openings to the top of the cage. The screen size for the plant is 12" x 18".

What I like about the porta-SCRoG is it allows you to see the plant from all sides, move it around, etc. Watering is easy, too, since you access all sides of the screen.

Sorry to hear about the little on CA. Seems like you have a plan in action to keep an even canopy.

Can't wait for some more pics of the sage n sour. Finally got mine in the soil wooooo

Thanks Mono, she will do fine, just got an intense topping that is all  I demolished these girls.. I made sure they are going to wait for her to catch up LOL.. That was the most intense defol and topping/fimming I've done, so I am expecting a day or two of slow to no growth.

As for pictures, I am going to try and upload once more :Namaste:

That is awesome PJ, never gave this too much thought and I have everything to get it set up..
Couple questions and some chatter brotha, are you also in 5 gal spring pots :)? Looks like it but I cant really tell the size.
But honest this would definitely take away the ill issues I was seeing with scorgging the 4 sc under a single screen.. I think this would work. The only issue I can think of if I am doing this is the amount of soil I currently have in the pots, its maybe around 3ish and im not sure if it would be sufficient enough for a tomato cage to stay still... Might look into some top dressings of soil , maybe transplant into some 7 gal black pots. I've noticed training in these spring pots is next to impossible with just string and paper clips and although they look good and provide killer air for the roots.. Training in my case is just difficult. As today is my Friday, and I don't do crap on haloween.. I wil attempt something like this and bring ya some documentation.

PJ! Thank you for your help so far in the journal! You are keeping the gears turning in my head and producing more efficient ideas.
Reps to you buddy!! :thanks: much!

Okay it looks like I got them through! (last two nights it hasn't been letting me upload pictures around 7-9pm, odd)

When I first got into the tent I started looking at the back right, worked my way to the left and then I saw it! Felt bad for the little one.

I have also changed up their placement for better light on the biggest bushiest cindys.
I will put together a color coded ms paint here tonight to show who is who.
Stay Safe :peace:

I just added a post to my journal that shows what I did in condensed format. Makes it easier to see what I did than wading through pages and pages of posts.

Will go have a look see, :Namaste:

Sub'd! :) Plants are looking great. Really looking forward to seeing you run a SCROG. The porta SCROG from Pj looks awesome! I've been wanting to incorporate SCROG into my grow but I do multiple strains and I like accessing/moving each individual plan. Previously I was just going to use tomato cages for branch support but now I'm thinking porta SCROG. Thanks for the great idea Pj!

Too late now but ya could've duct tapped the broken top lol. She probably would've recovered splendidly but personally I think topping them all will help you get a fuller SCROG anyways. I've been beating the hell out of my plants. Lolly popping mid flower, bending branches, pinching branches, pruning, and these girls just keep on growing even faster lol.

Ironically I was just watching weed wars on Netflix and the best grower for harbor side was selling out sage n sour within a few hours of delivery. That strain is definitely on my bucket list now :D

Keep up the great work!

The two SRoG girls are in 5 gallon G-Lite fabric pots. Next run I'll only be doing one plant and I'll use either a 7 or 10 gallon one. The tomato frames have several concentric rings. The diameter of the rings gets smaller from top to bottom. So long as the ring below the top ring is buried in soil it will be anchored well in the pot.

There are different sizes of tomato cages. A cage with a 12" diameter top ring is a great fit for a five gallon fabric pot.

One of the bonuses I like with the fabric pots is they work great with the preventative flushing routine I'm using. You can see it in my journal on page 11. I have a batch of tea brewing for the next watering. I'm going to put the tea into the big tub and let the girls have a planar water table bath in it. They will drink deeply of the tea. :cheesygrinsmiley:
