C5Rftw's 2nd Deep Water Culture Grow

Remember to look for vents on the ballast of the 6500k cfl's. Bought some 42's 5000k a while back and they are not vented. Hot to touch and raise the room about 5 degrees but I turn on the blower and it goes away. Run a fan at the cfl lights/plant anyway for some stem exercise so it's manageable. My problem is with all the air movement it's tough to keep humidity even with a humidifier at a truly moist level. I'll be changing out these bulbs next grow.

Wow man. Do you have a CFL you recommend?

I'm not sure on the 65's you plan to use. I would think that 1000bulbs would be a source but I looked and I can't really tell if their 6500k bulb has vents.

The 55w 5000k lamps I bought from them are vented and burn very cool. The 5000k seems to be good too, my plants are growing an inch a day so I don't see a lot of difference between the 6500k and these 5000k.

flowering good.

Maurice Chevalier would love those little girls !! I prefer them when they get nice and buxum (buxum buds ?) and sweet smelling.:yummy:

I actually have the 2700k lights from homedepot. for 15$ they cant be beat, but the added spectrum is suppose to help a lot. I guess I can use more of less wattage

I recommend checking ebay for lightbulbs. I got some great deals on there for CFL's. Last purchase was four 85W 6400K for $40 shipped. They were $25 a piece when I google searched them! You sure are right about the Home Depot bulbs. I remember when I first found those, I was so happy to get something other than 26W at the time!
