Budz: Mars Hydro FC-E3000, 3x3, Do Si Dos SCROG Grow

The Do-Si-Dos is doing pretty good. She's a bushy girl. Seems like it takes about 3-4 days of growth before I'm able to tuck branches under the next square in the net. Not sure how long it takes to fill the net; but hoping to flip in 2-3 weeks.

Has anyone else noticed the flood of new growers lately ? Has anyone noticed a lot of the old growers are gone or way less active ? I've been checking this out by looking at when they joined & approximately when they disappeared. Seems like the average member stays here between 2 - 2.5 years & suddenly disappears. I'm starting to see why this happens to some point. It seems that after 2 years you've pretty much got, all you're going to get from this site & then the cycle just repeats itself over & over. Too bad there's not like an advanced growers category that you have to be a member for 3 years before you can get in. That would be awesome ! Learn the basics the 1st 3 years & then you get to move up to the Advanced Level.

The advanced folk are here, they seem to be quietish, but find them and it's like striking gold! Or, be slow to uptake like me and hang forever! :p Happy Fathers Day Buds!
I feel ya ! Takes a while to find the right people to move up with your growing game. There are some really good ones.
I like to use the contest pages to see who to follow. You can usually tell who's really good by the plants they grow.
Happy Fathers Day to you also.

I've upped the nutes to 4.5 gr. per gal. on the Do-Si-Dos & I think she's loving it. Almost seems to be growing faster & more of the green came back. I'm feeding about 2 gal. every 3 days. I'm keeping her on 4.5 gal. till the 1st. At that time I'll start adding Terpenator to the mix & start flowering on the 3rd. I think she'll be ready to flower within 2 weeks.

The 9 in 3 gal. pots are getting 4 gr. per gal. I feed them 4 - 24 oz. cups ea. 3 times per week now. I was only feeding twice per week; but added a feeding per Mr S's advice. I've pretty much got 5-6 of them LST'd to the shape & canopy height I want them. Did a defol on them yesterday to try to get some of the center branches growing upward. I'm liking the way these are looking. I never did a 6 branch grow before & things are looking perfect as far as the plants shape goes. Can't wait to see how they look once they start making bud.

I think I finally realize something about LST. It's not just about tying branches down to open up the center. It's also about shaping your plants & making all the branches the same height for an even canopy. Why hasn't anyone ever mentioned this I wonder ? The things you learn by trial & error. So from now on I'm treating my plants similar to a SCROG without the net. Keep Lst-ing till all branches are same height & then let it all grow upward together.

I have to take my dog to the vet so I'll post a few pics when I get back.
By the way. I'll be adding some flavored extract to 1 of my Cherry on Top plants at the end of flower. Something @013 , started & I read about on RQS.

013, post a link in case others want to join in the fun !

And here are a couple pics of a few of the one's I've been training. Just wondering if that center growth will make it to the top by the 3rd when they go on 12/12. We'll see !

Yes! You got it! Top them and wait for the side branches to grow to the canopy height you want. (easier said than done some times but almost always doable. At flip I try to know if there's any that without a doubt won't and cut them, then 3 weeks into flower another check to see who made it. The others get cut and if I can get in to prune the small stuff in the middle, I will, however I haven't been able to lately due to my limitations. Good observation!

What gets me is I was on another site 1.5 years & this site over 2 years & nobody has ever mentioned this at all. Sure they say, "Keep an even canopy"; but don't explain the process. I'm sure this will help others in the future.

Information comes in dribs and drabs. That would make a good tutorial.
