Budworshipper's CFL Auto Flowering Small Cabinet Journal

My dogs are always covering the buds with hairs. No matter how hard I try and stop it happening there is always a stray one. Got an eye for it now.

I'm sure if there was a job for it. I could be the guy that spots dog hairs on buds from the moon.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have 4 of them and there is just no way to keep all that hair out of the closet. I vacuum everyday and run a floor duster over it in there but no matter what the dog hair is still there. Figure I have been smoking it for years so what the heck............. :circle-of-love:

Hi dresney.... Im kinda getting the feeling you are on the side of LED's???:laughtwo::laughtwo:

Thanks for input my friend..... Kinda leaning towards em myself.. Only reason i didnt go for em last time was cost.. But now i am looking at them again.. I cant afford some of the real flash ones, but there are prices falling as new kit gets released.. Time to grab a bargain i reckon.

If i go LED, the cfl bulb will be moved down the cabinet. This will hopefully increase the size of lower bud sites..

I will be giving the LST a good try this time too....

:Namaste:

So i was thinking......

Extra CFLS or a nice LED grow panel for the re jig of the cabinet

Would a 150-180w red/blue or full spectrum LED be too much for my space ? 2ft x 2 ft x 4 ft

Another big ass cfl is also being considered..

:Namaste:

Your Worship, I run a 128x3 dual spectrum led from sponsor topled (no longer produced.) It's in an 18"x24"x72" cabinet. While I have a lot more height than you, the top of the light is 42" from the bottom of the cabinet in the picture below. You would want the light ~ 16" above the top of the plant, but if the plant gets closer it is not a killer like it is with HPS. Check our Chronic Hemphogs journal and see how close his plants get to the light. You wouldn't want 5w leds because you would need more like 24" above the top of the plant. A 3w led would be a great choice for you. They run nice and cool and you'll get much tighter node spacing than with the cfls in late veg and flower

- nice compact plants is what you want.

Yeah I have BW

There is too much voodoo science in the world of nutrients

The plants need N P K and the micro nutrients.

Light and environment are the first 2 factors to concentrate on.

I use low cost no frills House and Garden nutes. With absolutely no additional supplements

other than tap water.

No nutrient package is going to double your yield.

Keep it simple. I say

Cheers BB.... I was just looking at it... Was wondering what was in it... Try to replicate the ingredients..

You know me mate... If i can DIY it cheaply, i will...

I have been googling organic flowering teas aswell... Best info was on this forum, doesnt surprise me at all.. Just gotta find it again... I was a tad wrecked last night...

Good to know you doing it budget too mate.

Cheers for input dude

Happy tokes to you today

:Namaste:

Not a problem BB... Hope i didnt sound like a knobber...:cheesygrinsmiley::cheesygrinsmiley:

If i had to buy some, i would... But i totally agree with all bollocks bandied around nutrients...

Its alot of marketing waffle, there are some excellent and proven nutes out there, but im a tight sod and try to do it myself.:rofl:

Thankyou very muchly peejay....

Great detail in your answers .

+ reps for that

I have been looking at BIOBIZZ organic flowering feeds... Anyone have any views on it ??

:Namaste:

I don't know shinolla about biobizz. I will say this. First time soil growers tend to think adding more watts of light is the best way to improve their grow. They seem to be in tune to the importance of light, and to humidity and temperature. IMO the best way for neophytes to improve their soil grow is to improve the growing medium.

Here's an analogy; say you have an car and you want to improve the driving experience. Equate light to horsepower. You can drop a new engine into the car, add a turbo charger... If the driver interface sucks more raw horsepower is a waste. It only makes your vehicle more difficult, unruly, and harder to control than it was before. The plant is the driver.

Think of climatic conditions and growing medium as the driver interface. They are the suspension, steering, tires, etc. If you improve those first, then you can add more power later and the car can handle the increased whoomph. Adding more whoomph without doing those things first increases your chances of wrapping the car around a tree.

The huge array of liquid nutrients, deciding how much and when to feed them, constantly scrutinizing the plants for signs of deficiency or lockout - that's crap! Complete bio-active soils which eliminate the liquid nutrient guesswork produce very healthy plants for soil growers and are rapidly closing the gap between yield and quality produced by fussy hydro systems. Invest in that strategy, not lighting horsepower if your climatic conditions are good (they seem to be ok). Get in the groove with that before adding horsepower. It sets up the driver (the plant) to handle the increased horsepower gracefully with aplomb when you add horsepower later. It is not inexpensive, but cheaper than a lighting investment and paying the power bill, or for a bunch of factory produced, fancy logo nutrients. Just my opinion... It ain't gospel.

Great analagy peejay !!!

You are so on my wavelength, my friend

You are so right about the soil. Keep the soil, not the plant... Just like aquariums, keep the water not the fish !!

I will have some of my usual, chicken pellets next week, to supplement my current nutes.

Ok i have successfully germed my last seed. She had a nice healthy taproot. She is now back in soil, in the cabinet.

Im still scanning for lights. I have re-invested some of my crop, which was always my plan. I wanted to get growing and learn more as i grow. Invest in my set up, in the long term. As my understanding and skills improve, my technology can improve.

Another analagy about cars will explain my thinking:

No point turning up in a ferrari, if your skills and ability level is of a prius driving coffin-dodger :rofl::rofl:

Gonna turbo charge the unit, but only to a level that the chassis can cope with. I wanna maintain my journey's course to growing nirvarna, not end up in a ditch.

Thankyou such much peejay and king john for helping on the LED front

I shall return to my search better informed.... If i can grab a bargain i will, maybe led maybe huge ass cfls... But i shall buy wisely after much evaluation..

Also going to get my research hat on... Homemade organics for flowering is my top priority. Also anything else i can pick up on the way..

:Namaste:

Hope those buds are doing you justice too my friend!

They are indeed my friend...enjoying em a little too much. :lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke:

They did dry out more after the weigh in...

Still nice n smooth... Decent potentcy... Nice dust building up in the grinder.... Will save it all up for awhile...

The people who have had some have liked it too

Lets hope i can do better this time round..

The soil mix is compost with added perlite... A good load of worm casts from my lawn and a good dose of bonemeal..
