Bubba Kush / GDP Quadline - First Grow

I've been reading and have been told both, use the trio only and use them all. My neighbor says he's been using same OF and FF nutes schedule for over a decade from week 5 or so on. Including trio and everything below.

I also see it's a nitrogen packed soil that doesn't really break down and release until later in the veg stage with the heavier wetting of soil so the synthetic nutes aren't needed as much later in veg with OF.

So many directions I'm not sure which to go. I felt with just the Trio they were doing well but looked a little lackluster. Also a first time grower so my perception of lacking may be wrong/off.

Once I started adding the other nutes it seems like they started perking up nicely.
Read the Book they provide turn to Happy frog and the hydroponics pages. Also I was going to use their nutes on my auto flowering but was sure if their nutes could be used. So, I messaged them to find out. I'll post their response when I get home in a while.

Here You go.
After reading their message I bought nutes just for autos and glad I did.

Hello John,

Thank you for contacting FoxFarm! I am happy to help!

I have attached a copy of our Soil Feeding Schedule, which was designed with indoor gardening in mind. The information below may help you with your autoflowering plants. However, we do not have a feeding schedule specifically for autoflowers at this time, and since we do not test on autoflowering plants, we cannot make any guarantees on your results.

Autoflowering plants tend to have a two to four-week growth cycle and a six to eight-week flowering cycle, depending on the strain. On our feeding schedule, weeks 1-4 are for the vegetative stage, and weeks 5-12 are for the flowering stage. If your auto has a shorter vegetative growth cycle, jump to week five on the schedule when ready. If you are trying to decide which weeks to skip for a shorter overall grow, you could skip weeks 1 and 2 in the growth cycle and weeks 10 and 12 in the flowering cycle.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. To learn more about our company and new products and download our latest feeding schedules, please visit www.FoxFarm.com.

Good morning yall! Quick question to start off the day. Should I be whacking these shoots off? Seems like they'll never make it up to the canopy because of where they are positioned. It's the vertical facing shoot on the bottom. Left them all intact but haven't seen any major growth.

Or do i knock off the fan leaf above them and try to let them get enough light?

Personally I'd leave them.
But I'm not a fan of defoliation.
Those fans provide energy for growth.
I like a bushy girl.
Just 2 cents.
She looks great.

Good morning yall!

Day 57 from sprout and my hand is being forced! I went to bed and my highest tops were 12.5", this morning they have shot up to right under 15" which is past my ideal 14".

I'm thinking I will make the flip at 6pm this evening so that way my lights are on during the daytime, 6am-6pm. Heat isn't an issue, it's currently 24 degrees where I'm at and we keep our heat at 70.

Check my girls out. They're looking beautiful.

Good evening yall!

Day 59 from sprout and I made the flip 2 evenings ago. Nothing new or exciting to really talk about with them at the moment, other than they're just looking beautiful and I'm extremely proud of progress so far. Done another defol before I flipped and cleaned up of most of the inward facing leaves, it opened up everything nicely.

Thanks to @Pitmaster I got myself aligned with the correct feeding schedule and they're definitely looking better.

What ph has everyone had best results from during flower? I see way too much info and it all ranges from like 5.8 on up to 7.5 and that's a broad range. I've tried to stay between 6.2-6.8 thus far. Usually fluctuating depending on which nutes I'm using but I generally don't need to add any ph up or down and I fall within that range.

My understanding is the plant will begin to use less nitrogen and more phosphorus and potassium in flower. Do I need to maintain a different ph level to help these nutrients be absorbed properly?

A quick Google search and I see "5.8-6.2," "6.0-6.5," and "6.0-7.0" in the top 3 results 🤯

As you probably guessed, the PH is not so important in soil as it is in systems like Hydro. Then you have the PH of the soil vs the PH of the feed, of which both should be around the correct levels.

I don't even measure my PH anymore, I just apply enough fertilizer to my tap water to bring it down a bit then feed, but Bruce Bugbee (Cannabis Scientist) recommends 6.0-6.5.

@CannabisMan420 great watch, answered a lot of the questions I've had lingering. I guess I should take to the tube more often. I've been trying to read read read.

Definitely helps me out though, I've only used 1 tsp/gal of the Tiger Bloom this entire grow because it drops my ph drastically. If I use 2 tsp/gal it drops me into high 5.8-5.9s. I think I'll go ahead and start adding it and not pay as much attention to ph vs getting all the correct stuff into the feed.

He mentioned ph levels as low as 4 in their soil grows and no issues, I've never dropped below 6.

I truly appreciate everyone helping out.

Good morning and Merry Christmas yall!

Wasn't planning to post today but seeing a lot of brown/burnt tips across both plants.

I was thinking maybe lights were too close and too intense but then started noticing the same for the leaves under the canopy that aren't getting much light.

Is this possibly more of a nutrient burn vs light burn? SF2000 about 16" above canopy at 100%, getting around 550-750 ppfd average and about 800-850 in the center of the light. Straight water on next watering? Drop to just the FF trio?

It’s a little tip burn & an issue.
Move the light first and see how they react.

Thanks Bill! I pulled the light up 3" and reduced the power to 85%.

I'm going to have to keep a close eye on my light for a few days. Last readings I took were way lower than what they just were before I adjusted them. Somehow I had spots reading about 1300, low spots were about 700. After adjusting again I'm back at about 650-700 on the high end.
