Brix, Buds & Blades: Knifemaker420's Auto Perpetual Garden

Yep, do the ReCharge and EWC nowish, whatever suits you.

And DDA got crispy on you, I see. That's the Cat drench. The second one shouldn't make things much worse, but you'll be picking off crispy fans for awhile. I don't know autos, but it probably needed more Growth drench before the switch. I didn't catch it in time for you.

M.O.B. looks good - I like the thick stalks.

:bongrip:

It looks a bit of potassium (K) deficiency to me.

Ok...finally here!
Hey Knife good day sir.
Most things are looking good...except that last one .
You may pick off those dying fans if ya like...depressing to look at.
Trim/prune her legs a little down near the soil ok.Take each branch and prune it clean where it gets close to the main stalk..up about 1/4 the length of it...understand....sort of like lollipopping , but not as drastic .
Not much...just clean her up a bit.
The others look good and right on track.
So ..am i correct in assuming your plants are all at different stages, and are all Autos?
If u haven't already done so..i would highly advise putting up a daily calender or chart to keep close track of wat u do / give them.
Keep your RH between 40 and 60%.....if possible. 50 is perfect ,imo.
Keep temps as they are , between 65 and 85F.
Dont fret if something is a lil off...ok!
Lets get u in the habbit of feeding the soil..NOT the plants.....this is wat we do...we wanna keep the soil energy as high as possible .The micro heard must be kept happy and satisfied.
I want u to give more Tea.
Give them some EVERY time they get a drink ok, no matter wat they get.....if its straight water....still give some Tea.
By the look of things , we will have to keep track very closely as you have a perpetual grow...so lets make it as easy as possible.
These grows are considerably more challenging than a standard start to finish grow.
Cheers Knife.

How is soil energy kept high?

Do you mean the Teenage wedding? Is it not looking good?

Won't hurt anything to do some leaf/flarf branch removal at this stage? I did some minor pruning of some leaves before she went into flower because she's so bushy I was worried about mold and lack of light getting in there.

Yes the DDA is 69 days old today , M.O.B is 42 days old today and T.W is 2 days old
f u haven't already done so..i would highly advise putting up a daily calender or chart to keep close track of wat u do / give them.
I was using the chart to keep track but I will start a notebook now ;-)

I haven't had any problems with temperature since I got my inkbirds but I find when the lights go out the rh climbs up into the 60s and has recently been as high as 75

I have been giving 10-12 drops of tea with every watering and other than leading up to the cat drenches I didn't give any plain waterings I alternated between GI and trans each time

Ok..first to address Sky's question. Soil energy is kept high by giving Tea every drink(RO or distilled) and making sure enough minerals are present .Do not use tap water unless you have properly filtered and prepped it.(evaporated the chlorine from it and filtered out the chloramine).
Docs amendment has loads of minerals (rocks) in it that need to be broken down(processed by the micro heard .This process is wat keeps the energy high in our soil.

For the Tea amounts. Wat i do is , every time my plants need a drink...or Drench they get a cap full of Tea.
With the alternating Drenches.
U need to give at least one drink of plain water between these Drenches...DO NOT skip this step...they must get straight water as well as Docs liquids ok!
Wat i do is when they are needing a straight water drink ...mix in a very weak Trans mix..like 1/4 strength.
U may call this the "straight water" drink ok.
Remember..we are growing in pots ...not outside ..so whatever we put in them..STAYS in them and not giving straight water in between Drenches will cause a premature salt build up in the soil screwing everything up ok.
If you have been alternating Drenches throughout the grow, the soil and plants have had plenty of GI (calcium) to prepare them for the N switch with the CD's.
Thats all we do with the CD's....we are switching wat type of N they get. This helps trigger the onset of increased flower development.
Fyi...Transplant and Cationic Drench are basically the same thing...one has Nitrate N the other has Amonniacal N.

Its very important the soil gets plenty of GI throughout growth to build up Calcium levels to prepare for the two back to back CD's.
Once they have both been given, its time to give them straight water......after that we get back on alternating again...just like directions say.
So....right after the water ...after the CD,,'s go right to GI .....Understand.
Cheers.
If u dont....no worriez Knife.
I'l try to be available every day for you here...but if not just pm or Watts App me ok. :circle-of-love:

Hey Jones, that particular knife had the best of the best for all the materials. It cost me close to $500 just in materials. It sold for $1200.00 which if time is factored in, I might have broken even on it lol
Mornin Knife......cool lil knife.Looks like raindrop damascus...very cool.Wat steel/s did u use bud?
Morning Duggan
It's a stainless damascus made by Damasteel in Sweden.

Looking good around here Knife! Little DDa babies are going strong and the flowering girls looks to be doing well! How are you liking the DBHBB so far?

Love that little knife to the blade is wicked
Thanks Dutch.
Only the biggest one is a DDA, the middle one is M.O.B auto and the tiny baby is a Teenage Wedding. My plants seem to absolutely love the DBHBB kit, I am learning to love it lol. I'm a pretty strict believer in having a set of instructions to follow and was getting frustrated with all the different advice and opinions I was getting. Luckily for me Duggan was kind enough to take me under his wing and will walk me through a grow in the kit his way. Should help reduce my anxiety lol

It is certain that when growing, plants either pick up pace and grow faster when ultra healthy or slow down and grow slower depending the environment or anything else that can cause the plant(s) to stress out and the result IS the change of the timing of things which is why we each must remain patient and spend the time needed to become more acquainted with the system we use to grow, albeit DBBHB, hydro, super soil, Coots etc. I too am a great fan of schedules and rhythms, but my ability to best read my plants is still a work in progress and so far I have 6 years at it.

I'm now in the process of switching over from hydro to organics and I am using the HB community as a source of wisdom and experience to learn from, but my hydro experience is such that I formulate my own nutrients from salts, but I'm intimidated switching to soil because it's totally new to me, yet I read how bored Duggan is growing in the kit because he's had so much experience with the kit and judging from his signatures, I can see why.

IMO, you're already bought into the kit, so you should commit to force your way through any hangups that may arise. As you grow as a Brixer, you also grow as a grower and the more you know, the more comfortable you'll feel to make little decisions that can add up to, or subtract from the final result that is more or less a certainty anyways.

Lol yea duggs can be a great help that way. I member first starting out an i have short term memory issues so its VERY hard to learn new shit an not ask simple questions a 100 times lol. So i think people were getn mad at me over at docs thread for askn the same or stupid simple questions haha. But duggs was cool an jus helpd me along with my issues and my plants lmao. For real tho i wouldnt be half as gud at this if not 4 this place an the 420 fam i have made since joining this great place. Jus wait bro ull be k ocking these grows out the park in no time. Once u do ur first grow with the kit u seem to catch on pretty quickly. Its prolly one of the easiest kits ive ever encountered b4. An for me that saying something cause i find almost everything to be pretty hard when its me tryn to learn sumthn new lol. But yea dude in 10 days my HB soil will be done cooking an it will be 3rd round soil this time. An ill be using it for my auto grow this round. I figure since im starting up my breeding project using autos again only with new genetics this time i mite as well do a HB run doing only autos as well. I hope to get them shit even half as gud as i seen some people on here do. I cant remember if it was farside or mr. Krip on here but they were doing autos with docs kit.

UPDATE
Dark Devil auto day 76

Still looking rather unhappy but with help from @Duggan I'm hoping we'll get her turned around.
Did a brix Foliar spray on Sunday night and a 1.5 gal drink with 20ml of Growth Ionic drench and 20 drops of tea (double the strength I have been feeding as per dugg's suggestion)

M.O.B auto day 49
Starting to see some of the same blotchy brown crispy patches on this one as well.
Also gave MOB a brix Foliar spray on Sunday and a 1.5gal drink with 20ml GI and 20 drops tea. Planning on recharging this week and will probably be thinking about doing the cat drenches soonish?

Teenage wedding auto Day 8
Making good progress. Seedling pot was dry so I watered by pouring water into the container the pot is sitting in and letting the soil absorb from the bottom. I'll probably give her another week before I start thinking about putting her in her final pot.

Thanks for looking
Have a knife day

They are not ready for CD's.
We need to get them happier/healthier first.
Next time they? (the worst ones).need a drink it might be best to Rescue Drench them..to recolonize the roots..but lets wait and see first ok.
Dark Devil already had both cd's
At what point would it be too late to give cats?
Hopefully this heavier feeding will help them out. ( even tho according to the bottle and my math I was already giving them more than what was suggested)

Cats can be given at any time ,really...no harm..if all is well.
As long as you can finish with at least one GI Drench before harvest u are golden....no worriez ok.
The main thing is to get them healthy.
Also....the CD's are secondary to getting healthy plants ok.
They DO NOT need the two cats to finish properly either.
If we can get them as healthy as possible...that is most important.....so , for now forget about the two CD's ok.
