Brightlight's Strain Fest: Organics & LED

Hey there BL - nice nug shot there. Contest worthy. Love the back ground and the flower. Real nice job bud. Congrats on your harvest once again.

Been getting cookie'd in Canada for Canada day. Man those Canadians like to smoke weed. They get all excited when they see me pull up. :passitleft:

Now weed back to reality and well for me usually means trimming. So making my rounds as best I can. G/L with your next round. Pretty nice list there.

Cookies are good. I know you thought the Dolato was a little heavy but all my buds love it. For me yeah a little heavy. The Buffalato tho is real nice.

Gonna have to try some forum cut version, or not. I was over there for a long while and got tired of all the bitching about. Stopped paying attention long enough to miss out. Ah well. We need to get our own 420M cut going. Wouldn't that be fun. Make something epic.

Folks here have the skills. Just gotta organize. Which is a challenge and weed!

Summer time and the living is easy.

We went away for 14 days. Left some mothers go in #3 pots to see if any survive. The ones that did are worthy. Some went 17 days with out water.

Will take cuts and mothers to the bin. Cool thing was the plants that made it thru... 1 Chemdawg and the rest were Snow High DT gear. Go figure. Man hard to get rid of that hair raising sativa goodness. Guess they gonna have to hang around a little while longer.
Says something to the old school genetics. I doubt I'd be able to do that with any modern day poly hybrid. Actually not doubt, not possible I'm thinking.

Anyways hope your summer time is treating you well and you're keeping cool.

G/L with the next round of little ones. Many well wishes for a bountiful harvest. :Namaste:

High BL,
Caught up and along for the ride.
Some real fine growing going on here.

Good to see you back around Hoz. :peace:

Connoisseur Lemon N Lime Jones
A throwback sativa cross with some nice genetic make up.....Casey Jones (ECSD x Thai/Trainwreck) X Haze (SSSDH Haze cut). Now this is my kind of sativa....mood elevating, an uplifting & smooth merry high. Gets me in a "life is great head space" & keeps me there. Exactly my preferred beginning high of the day. Long lasting effects that make me forget about anything beyond what I'm focused on. Stark contrast to the "scary" Nigerian WiFi cross, which is slightly less edgy with some curing time. Still not my choice to start the daily high but really good in the middle of the daily strain choices to liven up the high. Electric sativa with heavyweight clout.

Lemon N Lime Jones has got to be in the 90% sativa range but some nice breeding & selection had it finish for me at 59 days & 90% cloudy. Had wanted to take it earlier but had a bottleneck of ripe plants. Very slow developing buds, which at 6 wks. pointed to a lousy meager yield. But in her last 17 days fattened & bulked up in a major way. Distinct sharp lemon/lime 7UP smell to flowers. Less citrus on dried buds....more typical Haze nutty, spice, vegetal. Nice old school terps but not in class with modern terp queens. I'd forgotten how nice the Casey Jones high is. Couple with his special Haze, which I rank real high from growing plenty of SSSDH plants. This strain has pushed its way into my top tier of Haze crosses.

After a refreshing month & a half break I've prepped some soil & finally soaked some seeds. Here's the next line up:
1 Cherry Bomb Gelato - Compound
2 LA Kush Cake - Seed Junky
3 Mach 10 - Sun Grown
4 Mendocino Purple Cheddar - CSI
5 OG #18 - Reserva Privada
6 Polaris - Pisces
7 Sunset Strip - Cult Classics
A Bubba Doja - IHG
B Dafghan Surprise - Crunch Status Confirmed
C Gas Leak - South Fork

:thanks: :peace: :Namaste:
Think I made it back around these parts just in time with a line up like that!

Still got some catching up to do buddy, but things as always looking great here :Namaste:

Lemon lime cj sounds and looks great brother. Next line up sounds awesome.
Gonna have my eye on that cherry bomb gelato.
She sure is pretty BL. Yeah, that Cherry Bomb Gelato caught my eye too.

Remember the lively dust up here triggered by Compound's announcement on its new line? Not long after the initial release, I picked up a couple packs of what was left at the banks. Their signature Jet Fuel Gelato has multiple SD inputs along with some nice OG...SFV & High Octane. Overall more SD style than Gelato. The Pineapple Faanta was among the best of last batch....power, flavor, terpenes, as oily & sticky as it gets. So looking forward to the Cherry Bomb Gelato. CBG is JFG x Oni's Tropic Thunder (Tangie, Cherry Pie, Triangle). They've gone to unknown to basically available via pre-sale only. Interesting breeders....serious tissue culture practitioners.

Thanks for the review! I've had my eye on various Casey Jones crosses.

The Casey Jones definitely paired exceptionally well with the Haze in Lemon N Lime Jones. Made me ask why I waited so long to grow CJ after liking it so much in the past. Real nice to get back into. Have a CJ x Cookies & straight CJ coming up.
Damn that's a nice sized yield for such a small pot.. not to mention the quality looks outstanding. Great job there.. she was gorgeous!

Got my eyes glued to the screen for several in that line up.. mach 10, sunset strip, gas leak... la kush cake.. la confidential x wedding cake?? :thumb::adore::green_heart:

LA Kush Cake is Kushmints x Wedding Cake.

High BL,
Caught up and along for the ride.
Some real fine growing going on here.

Real good to see you back at 420 GOP. :peace:

In House Silver Pie
Down to last plants from recent grow to show here. My IHG is all older stock, like 2-3 yrs. ago. I kind of went IHG ape shit then as they were 1st to roll out so many elites plus the early prices were pretty reasonable. This is another Platinum cross....with Cherry Pie. To me Cherry Pie has always been every bit as nice as Cookies...a little livelier. Having grown 8 IHG strains I'll say this.....checks most boxes but misses slightly on the most important....quality of high. Several just strong & dull. Of the 8 maybe 3 or 4 stood out. But imo their beauty makes growing them worth it.

Great looking ladies there BL :Namaste:

You got me hooked on the IHG gear. Just bought another 2 packs ... The few strains I've ran had that heavy feeling. A few plants were stellar tho. I should have taken cuts.

Wish I had a nickle for every time we said that eh?

There's going to be a few standouts ... just never know which one. The plants are the best looking flowers tho 420% on that, yeah?

Hope yer keeping cool. Summer time I think is turning the high heat corner and its time to get poppin.

I thought I've told everyone my memory is terrible.

That Silver Pie just looks the bomb there BL. Now I'm salivating .... thinking about high octane and stuff. She's a great looking gal. A prime example of your talent.

Beautiful as always, BL. Congrats on the cut... Keepem Green

Looks frosty as hell, probably on the low side yield-wise, but you know me... if it doesn't deliver it can't really warm up the place :)

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Oh, well you weren't kidding, those are some amazing lights. Lol no wonder your plants look so good. Have a question, what your opinion on the Black Dog Phytomax 2 series? Thanks .

I have 2 400watt Black Dogs. I absolutely love them and may buy a third. I cant recommend them due to their price, but if you have the means put them on the short list.

This is whats going on in my shed now... again 2 Phytomax 2 BDs and a CMH between them. CMH is coming out next season... just isnt helping much. In soil, GH nutrients, 3 weeks from harvest. Strains are King Tut and Pink Candy.

DRIVE_BY Hope all's good in your world there @brightlight

Seed Junky Ice Cream Cake
The last plant from my last run. ICC = Wedding Cake (Triangle Mints #3) x Gelato 33. The ICC from the grow prior was cut at 65 days. Based on high I cut this plant at 59 days. Much better. ICC like many of today's complex poly-hybrids seem to intensify & balance out its characteristics after a couple month from cut. Potency is undeniable. Terps. creamy vanilla gas with some background eucalyptus & spice notes. Seriously loud & will stink up the house. Easily escaping sealed jars. Its smell is a key feature. Very smooth & tasty smoke. Relatively easy to grow but be on vigilant ball patrol beginning at day 14 & keep watchful eye throughout flower.

2 wks. prior to cut...45 days.

Harvest day...59 days.

For those who know him.....CareStaker says "Hello". :ciao:

This journal has run for 4+ years now, & this may be as good a time as any to end it. Or at least a good time to take a break. Maybe get it going again down the line. Thanks for all your interest, compliments, sharing & camaraderie.
