Occasionally pages are slow to load with a bar running across the top of the page, and a dancing hamburger in the upper right. Last happened about 5 minutes prior to this post or 00:05 UTC.

Edit: It is still happening, but not for every page. It seems like a 'server busy - please wait.' I takes 10 - 20 sec to load.

I can confirm e-mail notifications from 2017 are working in my thread.

We need to determine if it's our website or your internet, your ISP network, your router, your computer, your resources, etc. Please gather more clinical studies and record times and everything you can, so I can provide the data to the developers for investigation. It does seem intermittent in many cases. Be sure that if I report something like that, I’ve checked my connection etc. before I do, tested using the home internet and the mobile internet (and different browsers etc.) and checked that other things (both on 420 and elsewhere) are loading well before I mark it as a possible ‘bug’.

My main problem is this page of my journal
And this page off Sue’s is also very slow

Others too - but as I said, a little bit randomly, and I haven’t tracked every instance sorry. On my page, I did upload those pics the day of the launch so maybe they haven’;t been optimised and are being ‘served’ at resolutions too high. I did think once that page loaded ok for me - but only once. Maybe it’s a server load kind of issue but I really have no idea! I have super fast internet - and am today at a different location with also super fast internet and issue remains.

I have had a comment in my journal from someone who said that page os not loading at all well for them either, yet the following page with images uploaded a couple of days ago is fine.
That’s all I know...
 
I agree with Amy..... I'm also having a hard time to just get the forums to load at all sometimes (direct bookmark in). It does seem to be random, and I do a speed test to ensure it's not on my end.

Just to share info.

I get it too where site won't load for a couple minutes, know it isn't my end as I can open 2-3 other bookmarks for other sites in new windows and they load fine while I'm still waiting for this site to load, as if it were my end then all pages would behave the same I would think. I get it while on the Forums too when changing to a different page, not as often as when trying to load site from bookmark though.

Same thing happens to me. On iPhone and also Desktop. All browsers are the same. It’s not my connection. Site all the sudden just becomes unavailable for a couple minures.

I had the same problem with Chrome on the phone earlier tonight. A halt and reload always fixed the lockup. Halt first, and then reload. A simple reload didn't respond.

I have spent some time testing 420browser on an iPhone 5

All is good for the features I use. All functions available.

My old eyes appreciate the zoom by finger option.

IMHO spend zero time and energy on a mobile app. Ever

My reason for preferring the browse version is that I’m always hopping platforms so they all look and behave the same. The app was the oddball

People going from app only to browser will beh experiencing the wtf is this feeling in reverse. So I sympathize

But I just wanted to post that it works fine. Landscape mode is a must which I do fer everything anyway.
 
Yes even if a mobile app is created I’ll probably stick with the browser version. There’s more options and smoother navigation on the browser version. At least for me anyway.
 
I like The Browser version of the Phone, well once the terrible lag is gone and the jumbling of my words

I do like uploading Pics from the phone to use in bigger posts on my PC, fast and easy
 
Old ear Tip of the Week. Get yourself one of those rubber telescoping things that sticks on the back of your phone or tablet. So much easier to hold in landscape especially. I think hey are called a pop socket

Would be a great 420prize. I’ll test it lol

I'd use a :420: pop socket. :battingeyelashes: I can't live without mine. For stability alone it's worth the price.

I'm still working in Safari - I know, but I've been busy. I'll get Chrome in by tomorrow to see if my pictures are loading correctly. At the moment most longer posts with lots of pictures don't load all the photos for my viewing. This'll give me a good comparison.
 
Do you think slow loading of some posts is due to the large size of the pictures themselves? My digital camera creates very large image files, which "measure" well over the size of a piece of paper, with a file size in the Megabytes. I open them up in Paint and reduce the size at least 50% for use on 420. Pictures posted on the Internet do not need to be that large. :Namaste:
 
Boss man 420 wants us to Post when we have serious Lag either phone or PC

I know we had a few times this AM where I couldnt refresh or log the Site, im on a 190mbs Modem, so speed isnt an Issue, and My phone will hit over 50mbs as well

He needs instance to report to the Crew in charge of The Hamsters

Yeah that’s a good question AK. The pics of mine that wint load are large too - however the site is supposed to, AFAIK, optimise and deliver smaller versions. As Graytail mentiined the other day (which is paaaages away here now) he has always uploaded hires pics (or maybe it was Dynamo1...). The site should adjust. So even if it is the larger files, I still think it’s a site issue if they’re not being delivered to us in an optimised way. Keep the quality images coming!

i also notices that those images load super fast and perform the way a few others do - in that you can click/tap on them and have them open ful screen for a closer look. It’s my guess that all the pics should do this but they don’t yet. That’s what I’m thinking some image processing work by the site software is not happening how it should or is not happening yet.
