Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

Ok. Gonna do a quick update. I plan to take Berry Ryder down this week, likely Wednesday (hopefully a snow day here). I don't care what the trichromes look like - she done!

Hope all are well. Be safe, and kind.

Thanks HH! IKR? I could shop all day for seeds! Not sure yet About the journal. I was thinking about changing the name of this journal into something “perpetual” :cheesygrinsmiley:
Lol, or at least maybe remove the (completed) part? I didn’t think you had an active journal! All this time I’ve missed! Luckily I can just go back and read it all. :laughtwo:

ps - those are some nice lookin trichs!! Ready real soon. :thumb:

Done enough! Should be a nice, peppy buzz...
It would be a little early for me- but I like the "sleepier" weed so I always wait for a touch of amber.

Hi B, those are gorgeous, frosty nugs!
You've got a good variety of seeds there as well. I grew White Widow and Do si Dos this past summer and I've got some Wedding Cake clones going right now. Stay stoneder

:ciao: Afternoon growers! I took down the Berry Ryder today. :rip:. Honestly, I'm glad to be done with her. She had some decent main colas but the majority of her was larfy foxtail like buds.

She was super sticky and smelled amazing so hopefully she redeems herself with good smoke. That leaves me with my late blooming Zkittles:

You can really see how frosty she is when she's out of the tent!

And on a final, off topic note. My sweet granddoggie Lucy died suddenly this week. She had a cancerous tumor in her heart that burst. She spent all but two years of her life chained up, bred for puppies, and shot at with a BB gun yet she was the sweetest and most joyful gal you could ever ask for. RIP sweet Lucy.

I'm so sorry Boo. Lucy was very lucky to have a family like yours take care of her when she needed it the most. Your daughter must be devastated. Sending lots of love your way.

Hi @InTheShed :ciao:
Add to that, a decent amount of lecithin and your thc that won’t stay in solution will disperse throughout the oil. Yes, eventually it would float to the top (or sink to the bottom given relative density) but as long as you stir well before you portion some out for your recipes the concentration of cannabinoids should be even throughout the oil. Again, think salad dressing.
This is what I wanted to ask about. I’ve made gummies using both of these recipes and oil created with EVOO. You can see there is a difference in the amounts of jello, gelatin, water, and oil in the two. When making @Carcass recipe I did have to whisk the oil a lot and continue to shake the bottle while filling the molds. While I was reading the discussion regarding the emulsification of oil to other liquids I was envisioning that the Goody recipe was a good example of that. And if so, it would seem that it would produce a higher mg/gummy than the first one, correct?

Re-reading @ChefDGreen s post above it now looks to me like he was referring to mixing the oil before using it to ensure the THC is distributed throughout the oil before measuring/using it in your recipe vice what I took away - that you could add more infused oil into a recipe by emulsifying the ingredients (if possible). Hopefully all that makes sense.... :hmmmm:

I’m going to make some gummies today using coconut infused oil with the Goody recipe. When I made the oil I added 1T of Lecithin to it per the recipe. Is that enough or should I put another tablespoon in with the gummy liquid? :thanks:

Shed recipe

Two 3oz boxes of regular Jello (with sugar!).
Three ¼oz packets of plain gelatin
1 cup cold water
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup infused EVOO
———————————-
Goody recipe

1 pkg sugar free jello mix (0.6 oz size)
1pkg regular (with sugar) jello mix (3 oz size)
2 packets plain gelatin
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup infused oil

My recipe calls for 1/4 cup oil in a total of 1.5 cups of liquid, where as 13g13's recipe calls for 1/2 cup of oil in 1 cup of liquid, which necessarily makes the gummies stronger (my recipe is 1/6th oil, 13g13's recipe is 1/2 oil). Either way, shaking and stirring will make the oil stay suspended in the water better as you squirt the mix into the molds.

He was. I don't know if the LSL has any effect on the gummy mix (or if it's in there long enough to have an effect if it might), so it's just to enable the oil and THC to emulsify together.
When I made the oil I added 1T of Lecithin to it per the recipe. Is that enough or should I put another tablespoon in with the gummy liquid?
The LSL is just added to the oil after infusion rather than the gummy recipe for reasons above. Shaking the mix will do all the blending needed, like shaking salad dressing before you pour, or neem oil before you spray!

i just hate when my gummies have different potency cause of how frequently I stirred while portioning them out. extra LSL keeps them more even across the board

Very sorry to hear about Lucy.
I actually broke down remembering my own rescue named Lucy.
She was my first foster that I ended up adopting.
She had a similar story of neglect and abuse before she came to me.
It's hard to believe that they can trust again after all of that.
Somehow they do it, with grace.

Hi Boo!
It does indeedy. Very nice. Enjoy the weekend.
I was like wait a minute 420 Staff, where have I been the last month  Congratulations MrSauga
Coconut and EVOO are about the same on the absorption scale but both leave you feeling really greasy, and shea butter is even less absorbable. If you want to get the THC into the skin, grapeseed and pumpkinseed oil are the way to go.

Butters feel great for massage but are much less effective for THC topicals.
Great information
I’ve been trying to figure out what it reminds me of....and I think it is one of those blow up guys they use for advertising....which sometimes look as if they are, well, pleasing themselves - if not monitored!
Well since i have been MIA lately trying to catch up I thought what better place than trying to please/pleasure, tamato/tomato myself, LMAO:laugh::laugh::laugh: Things are looking great in here BooWho2, looking forward to more harvest in the near future~
