Boo’s Perpetual Grow Journal

:ciao: Hope everyone is doing well! Just stopping by for a little update and maybe some advice? It has been so, so hot and humid here for the past week and a half with lots and lots of heavy rain. The outdoor girls have been soaking it in and growing up. Problem is, there has been so much daily rain that they’ve only been fed once during that time and they are starting to show pale leaves developing at the bottom of two of them. Let’s have a look:
PXL_20230706_195205645.jpg

That‘s Banana Kush on the left, Lemon OG Candy in the middle, and Sour Tangie on the right. Banana and Lemon have doubled in size and Tangie has gotten wider and taller. She is about three feet while the other two are about 4 feet (need to bring my measuring tape outside!). Here is where I’m looking for advice…

Banana and Tangie have yellowing/fading leaves starting at the bottom. I think it is because I’ve not been able to feed them because their pots are full of rainwater. This year I decided to go with bigger pots so that I don’t have to water them every-single-day, so the Tangie is in a 25 gal pot and the other two are in 35s (I think). They are fucking huge. I need to get these ladies on a wet/dry cycle but Mother Nature isn’t helping out. I’m thinking maybe I should go ahead and feed them to runoff regardless of how much rainwater is still in their pots just so I can get some nutrients in them. What do you say - bad or good idea? :nervous-guy:

In other news, the Wookie that I dropped after I chopped the Skunk plant never sprouted…:eye-roll: So, in typical Boo fashion I said “I know how to make a Wookie seed sprout…drop 2 seeds, which will put me over my legal limit if they both sprout. Thats how I roll.” And they both sprouted! Introducing:

Baby Wookies! Not sure what that black stuff is on the leaf, but it was sticky and I didn‘t want to hurt her trying to wipe it off.

Baby Mimosa Cake! I’m so excited for these little ladies. It feels like it’s been sooooo long since I’ve had an autoflower growing. They both sprouted on the 26th of June so they are 10 days old today  That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is having a good summer/winter, and thanks for looking!

Wow! They're all growed up!

They look like they're missing the N more than anything else...
I'd go ahead and feed them, although maybe not to runoff- maybe just a couple gallons each (because they don't need the water)- if there's nutes in there, they'll find 'em, and it should stop that yellowing...if the rain washes it out, just do it again every couple days..

And they both sprouted! Introducing:
Well, of course they did! same reason I've got two growing right now...
Good looking youngsters, Boo !🌱🌱❤️

Rain, rain go away! Any chance of fashioning some sort of lean-to plastic cover until weather improves? I remember @Amy Gardner making something like that to help her outdoor Candida. Other than that, I’d agree with Carcass’ advice and try to get something in there. Good luck Boo!

I could easily do that! I need to come up with something portable so that I can entrust others to take care of them if I go out of town. I will also take @ Carcass' advice and go ahead and get them a couple gallons of food. I'm nervous because I know they will be going to flower before the end of the month and I don't want to overwater them, but the big pots is a new move for me... :nervous-guy:

I'm with Carcass on feeding them with enough water to get the top roots wet but not soak the bottom. I'm also going to recommend something that folks seem to be ignoring but here goes anyway:

Cardboard tops for the pots when it rains. Two pieces that slide together from either side (similar to this but covering the rim) or one piece with a slit and a hole in the middle like this.

Congrats on the new sproutlings, and are there no barbecue skewers or toothpicks handy? First time I've ever seen anyone jam a Bic in the soil to support a plant! :biglaugh:

Good morning Boobird!

OMGGGGG I have ADVICEEEEEEE!

When my plants get too much rain water I give them a strong MC feed that is light on H20. I will mix 2g, in 1L and feed them that.

I liken it to a loading dose. Get that drug in the system and double down.

It works for me.

:ciao: hi all! Hope everybody has been doing well. I thought I would stop by with an end of month update! Let’s start with the outdoor photoperiods. They are getting big! I took advice from you all and protected them from the constant rain, and also got them back onto a good wet dry cycle. I was on the west coast for a week and set up a watering “system” for my house sitter and he did just fine. Here we go:
PXL_20230731_170931867.MP.jpg

This is the Banana Kush. I backed off on upping her MC dosage because she showEd a slight tip burn early on, but I think she could be brought up to 5 g/gal now. She’s gorgeous and has huge leaves.
PXL_20230731_170909564.jpg

See what I mean? Next up is Lemon OG Candy:
PXL_20230731_170937747.jpg

She’s about a foot taller than the Banana Kush and 2 feet taller than Tangie….and the flowering stretch hasn’t begun yet! :laughtwo: She is also gorgeous and healthy and really diggin’ the sun. Here is Sour Tangie:
PXL_20230731_170943985.jpg

She is a little wider than the other two, but gorgeous nonetheless. All three are starting to show preflower, gonna be interesting to see how far they stretch. I think these will be the biggest outdoor plants I’ve grown - also in the biggest containers I’ve used. Sauga view:

On to the autoflowers:
PXL_20230731_170512285.MP.jpg

This is Wookies. She had quite the growth spurt while I was gone. She has just started flowering:
PXL_20230731_170541884.PORTRAIT.jpg

Next up is Mimosa Cake:
PXL_20230731_170647774.PORTRAIT.jpg

She also had a pretty healthy growth spurt and she is just starting to show flower:
PXL_20230731_170707948.PORTRAIT.jpg

I have one more little update but I was over my limit on pics so I’ll do that next. Thanks for looking!

Hi again. :ciao: So, remember how I kept trying to get a Wookies to sprout and had three failures before I finally got the fourth (and final) one to grow? Well….I’ve got this gallon sized plastic container that I mix up fresh ProMix in when I am starting seeds. Even though I had given Wookies #3 over 10 days in the solo cup she never sprouted, so when I decided to try to sprout 2 seeds to get one Wookie to sprout I took the solo cup with #3 in it, dumped the soil into my container, and added more ProMix to it in order to have enough for two solo cups. Long story short, I went into the basement to get something a few weeks ago and out of the corner of my eye I see an almost foot long seedling, pale as can be, growing out of the plastic container! I believe that was 11 July. So, I buried that long stem in a solo cup and nursed her to health with some light and water, and now I’m 2 over my limit and have 2 Wookies auto going! Pics to prove it:
PXL_20230712_151854051.PORTRAIT.jpg

This was a day after I put her in a cup and under the SMD light. She was pretty much albino when I found her.
PXL_20230730_142432578.MP.jpg
PXL_20230730_142424894.MP.jpg

She was amazingly happy when I got home from the West. She was up potted to a 3 gallon yesterday.
PXL_20230730_142446515.jpg

She got busy making roots and is tucked into her new home now.
PXL_20230731_170320970.MP.jpg

And once’s again, I guess that’s why they call it “weed”. I’m so happy to have my little survivor, I hope I can do her justice after literally throwing her away. Thanks for looking!

Here we go indeed! Those are beautiful and serious trees, and you will be harvesting from the top of the stairs and out the windows.

Doesn't look anything like Carcass' but it does like many of your autos. :)

So cute how it's giving the Bic a  .

What a terrific comeback, and it got over your first neglect and loved your second!

Yeah.....
I had a seven foot super cropped Lemon Og Candy indoors. She was in a small 10 ltr bucket, hempy style.

Lmfao
Hasn't hit her stretch yet.

Fucking beauties!
:passitleft:

Sweet Update, Boo!
They are getting big!
And beautiful!... Hell, I thought they were big a month ago...now they're big!
set up a watering “system” for my house sitter and he did just fine.
You'll have to turn him on to an ounce or so, when all's said and done... :lot-o-toke:
and now I’m 2 over my limit and have 2 Wookies auto going!
Your secret's safe with me!🌝
I hope I can do her justice after literally throwing her away.
She's done some impressive growing in the last few weeks, no reason to stop now!🌲

Hi Boo! What a nice survival story! She'll be the best one! Love your outdoor garden! I get a thrill seeing the Lemon OG candy knowing how good her smoke is!

Trippin to the west coast sounds glorious! Hope you're all charged up!
I’m excited for the LOG too. Trippin in the west was fun. Got to see my grand daughter and also popped up to Seattle to see my sister. Dispensaries in CA and WA are awesome. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yup! Just like last year, cuttin colas from the stairs! :laughtwo:

The autos are freestyle this time, they’ve only been topped since my trip planning didn’t align with the baby planning. Lol
What a terrific comeback, and it got over your first neglect and loved your second!
I am shocked at how well she’s done!
She’s going to be the prom queen I can feel it!
Lol. Ridiculous!
Yeah.....

You did warn me! But I love having giant plants, especially giant legal ones!

Already have Carcass, already have…:cheesygrinsmiley:

I know, right? I need to get a tent fired up and move the autos downstairs. They’ve been outside for a couple of weeks and I still think it’s too hot for them.

A lovely collection Boo! And a very innovative germination method! :)

:ciao: Hi all! Here is a quicky indoor update on the auto flowers. Mimosa Cake is flowering just like Wookies #1. Here she is:
PXL_20230810_141433942.jpg

Clearly a sativa gal. Brought a few little leafhoppers (?) in with her. She's beautiful and drinking a lot! My little survivor Wookies has huge 5 fingered leaves on her. I topped a couple of days ago and she is just starting to show preflower:
PXL_20230810_141444211.MP.jpg
PXL_20230810_141504121.jpg

Wookies #1 is diggin' flower too and has been very thirsty. I've got the infinity fan set up and it is helping me keep the rh around 55.

The two flowering autos are at 3 feet right now. My little buddy likes to come downstairs and help me tend to them:

I will likely move the Wookies over to the other tent with the Mars Hydro light in it to give everyone a little space. So far so good! :yahoo: Hope everyone is doing well and thanks for looking!
