Bluter's Happy Home For Hilarious Hempsters

jungle room rolling along

full

some of the sativas are still stretching a bit. the powerplant might not quit til a couple wks from done.

full

my timers are getting sticky from the plants hitting them.

full

everyone is holding good at the 6g mc / gal level. we're in to the back half of flower so things are gonna start to crisp up and change a little. pistils are starting to turn but they're still throwing new ones.

hairy looking gorilla glue bud ...

full

them are some long pistils lol .. :p

i had to clean up my clones and get them up potted, so here's a quick tutorial on up potting a hempy clone or seedling from hempy cup to a larger bucket.

we'll be cleaning up and up potting this poor looking powerplant clone.

full

it's past due and a bit gnarly because it's a reveg. most seedlings from seed will have a better structure and won't require as much work as a clone cutting will. it's the same process no matter.

cleaned up the bottom and some questionable stuff.

full

get the bottom part of the stem exposed. the lower stuff would get trimmed eventually anyway and it's a good idea to plant the stem a touch deeper at up pot.

choose your hempy bucket for up pot. we're going in to a standard 2L hempy bucket size. i got some pretty ones, but the bucket itself doesn't matter, just the size.

full

get some clean perlite in the bottom. for most bucket types you'll want to fill the bucket about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way to the drain hole.

full

this will place the roots near the res and the plant will hook up a bit sooner after up pot. the roots won't wind up right in the res, as the perlite from the hempy cup is still going in there.

i use pre-sifted perlite to get rid of the worst of the small stuff and flour, but i don't wash or do anything special with the perlite. you can see there's still some flour particles left in it on the bucket sides.

i leave the perlite dry during up pot.

to get an idea of where the plant will wind up, you can set the hempy cup inside the bucket at this stage.

now for the weird part. take your clone / seedling and turn it upside down, with the top of the plant inside the new bucket itself.

full

next part is kinda fun.
seems freaky the first few times ... with the plant upside down in the bucket, remove the cup .. :cheesygrinsmiley:

full

just let the loose perlite from the cup fall in the the bucket.

now the showstopper..
flip the plant over and plunk it in the bottom of the bucket. no ceremony.

full

you can move the clone around a bit at this point to position it to your liking. i kind of pat the roots down a bit as well.

then fill with perlite, giving an occasional tamp down.
part way..

full

all done and ready to water in.

full

i leave about an inch and a half to 2 inches from the top. it will rise some when you water the plant in.

now to water it in. first plug up the drain hole.

full

i have these neato orange things. everyone thinks they're made for it. they're syringe caps lol :p
small piece of duct tape does the same job just as effectively. it doesn't have to be water tight.

mix up a big feed at the same or next nute level.
you wanna water them in with full strength nutes. no being timid here. :cheesygrinsmiley:

full

the amount you water in is important. you want a big feed with the plug in.

a good rule of thumb is one half the capacity of the bucket. these are 2L buckets, so every plant gets watered in with 1L. if you don't do it by measure, it's when the perlite just starts to float if watered in by eye. works out to about the same.

then let the plant sit for 20 - 25 min or so before pulling the plug.

full

at this point you'll have a stinking sulky pissed off plant

full

don't worry. by morning they'll be back to their old selves and not give a shit about you again .. :p

full

:)
You crazy Perlite junkies!

Jungle room is looking banging! Well done in there Blutes and Blute Sr.

Periscope depth!

one of my gorilla glue and all of the powerplants were getting out of control.

full

they started tossing singles and odd leaves so they've finally turned around. most were stretching like flower though so i cleaned them up a little and topped them out.

full

there's enough root mass now that they'll bounce back pretty quick. check out the 19% rh at 23c. i gorw through some tough stuff lol.

i let them sit overnight then started tying some branches up on the lanky ones at feeding time.

full

i only want a few spears from each plant. these are dramatically more open.

i left two of the gorilla glue for now. they have way tighter node spacing over the two others. i let them go a little longer and will probably tie them up.

full

pic was from this afternoon. a bunch of the upper branches have already turned 45 degrees to the light tonight.

:)

clones are rolling along nicely

full

everybody's green right up. 2 -3 weeks to go for flip. the jungle room is gonna just be cleared about that time.
gonna drop the floor again, and need to top the rest of the gorilla glue.

jungle room update in the next day or so.

morning clone pic

full

i need to work on flattening on the canopy a bit while a few of the lowers catch up to the top. i'm not pulling the lowers all the way to the edge flat, only the top branches. trying to flip with three to four about the same level. will probably take a couple lowers away still as well.

on this run i ditched set defol days over a tiny snip here and there on individual plants. it seems to be working so far, but i have been a bit wary over how sparse the plants look to me. i also haven't tied all the branches down as aggressively untli they get to the canopy line

full

i also have a couple lousy looking ones due to the reveg. there's a lot of confused growth i should clear out on. i likely should have held off the training til later on those.

this gg is shows a lot of reveg ugly stick

full

i have to get them trained and flipped quick though. the others are just coming into window in flower, so i'm facing a 90(ish) day go time from flip. i'm hoping to squeeze an auto run through before summer shut down as well. most of autos will run a shorter period than these go in flower lol

i've pulled the feed back a touch. i was running a full extended veg strength, they've been taking it all, but the indica leaning gorilla glue were showing huge amounts of n, so i needed to give them a break. over all these have been the hungriest clones i ever had.

we are running a hair or two over 4 grams / gal, which sits between a veg and extended veg strength. actual measure is 8.8g / 8L.

i have to give them a feed and get to the jungle room today. it has a few issues as well.

good morning 420 .. it's chop day :)

full

the powerplants did not bulk up as well as i could normally get. i needed more humidity. i'm under 20% rh.

full

but they are still not too bad, and they developed bud quite a ways up the spears. i can't be too upset over it. gonna have piles of red hair in the bud.

full

secondary powerplant bud showing a little frost. the powerplant and cbdream are done for sure. my two gorilla girls look a bit further back.

full

the one jammed up at the back is a gorilla glue. i have two GG, both different pheno's, which i found odd as i thought they were pretty much all sativa. the different pheno's show in the clones i have going a bit more than the orginal plants. the bud looks the same between them though.

full

that's the other one. there is a very late build just finishing on both gorilla glue. you can see some white pistils and some new bud swell. was gonna leave about another half to full week but the trichomes say it is done.

was still gonna leave but a close inspection showed this ...

full

check out the white spots .. think i am looking at a little PM. surprising as my rh is under 20% right now. PM usually likes it a bit higher. it hasn't shown up in any houseplants either, and there are a couple i know it likes.

some of it is just how the camera catches it, but i found a few leaves with real tiny white spots. some of it did rub off a bit. it's only on the one plant in a very specific area. it was enough for me to call it though, so we are chopping them all.

gonna keep any trim off that GG separate and toss it to be safe. will give the jungle room a darn good scrub down as well. there's enough trichomes stuck to walls in places that it's not hard to see them. will clear all that off which should take out any spores hanging about.

the hardest part is cleaning up the racks, but if you vacuum them, and then spray them down it takes care of it. it's a tip i got from another grower.

here's an artsy weird angle

full

everyone waiting for today's chop.

full

the one with the suspected PM is up front behind the fan at the right. i had to dig in to the plant to see it. i got massive horseshoes if it is PM. it coulda taken the whole grow out if it had broke out from wk 2 to mid flower. showing up this late is not so bad.

i'll throw a couple clone pics before i run away to chop and stuff

full

clone-ee-o-ee-o's. not a breakfast cereal kids. still ok with milk*.

*drink milk separate...

this should be the final tie down. i wanna let them run from here. all served up with a restraining order ..

full

my rh is better here. i don't dump as much air, and there is more internal circulation. 26% is pretty well ambient everywhere.

the rh will rise a bit at the jungle room when i chop the plants and shut the fan off to hang. but it will still be way below suggested best rh for hang. i'm gonna have a short hang, and a little longer jar cure.

stripped the plants down yesterday. gorilla glue.

getting stripped

full

powerplant

full

bit more nude

full

i give them more of a hollywood trim when i jar them up.

a cbdream

full

wound up working on each plant over an hour each lol :p
all stripped out

full

the cbdream are super stout little buggers. gonna miss them might have to see about seeds. grew them with anything and never had to worry about them. decent 1:1 plant with pleasant odour. approving potatoes in the background.

the chunky little gorilla glue

full

it was a complete bush straight through.

full

tossed everyone back in to the jungle room over night.

full

will chop and hang them later tonight.

Just wow...incredible job as always. But wow....those are sweet looking :adore:

thanks, they're not bad. have actually done better, even in this journal.
had a couple things against me, and i grew some flat out sativas, which have a different bud structure than the hybrids and indicas.

it's gonna be a short hang due the rh as well. i'm gonna have to work a bunch out in the jars.

Congrats on the chop bluter, and I'm as surprised as you are at PM growing with RH that low. Only think I can think of is the RH at the leaf is a lot higher with transpiration?

i talked it over with pops and it only affected the one gorilla glue. he and mom religiously wiped it down everyday.
i found evidence when i cleaned the room out at hang. they kept the plant in the one spot to limit spread.

so i tore the jungle room down before hanging the plants. the presence of possible PM had me concerned.

full

everything got a vacuum and wash with good old warm soapy water, then a spray down and wipe with h202, followed by an iso and water spray down. took pic while doing the h202.

the racks are the hardest to do, all nooks and crannies. they got a serious wash and spray treatment, took most of the day.

full

i did find what could have been spores. it likes to gather in clumps. this was on the upper shelf under the plant, clinging to the edge ...

full

it had also crept in between the mating surfaces of the shelf and legs direct under the plant in question.

full

i have no way of knowing for certain what it was. eradicating it and disinfecting everything is always the right call though. it shows how stuff can work itself in to places you'd never think of.

after a wash, what the h202 doesn't find, the iso spray should. i'm pretty sure it got imported from the veg space so i'll have to keep a close watch going forward too.

plants waiting for final chop

full

preferred weapon. le big chop chopper.

full

it's kind of final lol.

hempy root mass. note the drain hole lol .. :cheesygrinsmiley:

full

the MC kinda stains the roots and i always get some die back.

full

ambient rh climbed to 35% in the last couple days. rh in the grow space is at 50%. with the plants hanging but no ventilation. added one of the 6 inch fans running underneath them. a couple times a day the exhaust fan gets run til it pulls down to the ambient rh.

i don't mind the added humidity. under other circumstances i'd just take the extra hang time and leave it. the added air movement will help. leaving it dead could promote any latent contamination.
