There ya go buddy.... right on and happy new years ... many many greens and flowers in your future.

On when to chop.... depends on the strain... I like to let my girls go a little longer get all clouds and some amber... some plants never show amber, some plants go right from clear to amber/pink/purple.

I look at it like this:

What's coming up in VEG?? Do I have time to keep running a plant late late into flower?

IF I do I usually let them go, watch the fan leaves, let the plant eat up all the fans ... they will start to drop off.

Don't worry this is completely normal and what some folks that run nutes start to get crazy and think there's problems. With organic soil this is completely normal.

Then when most of the old original fans have fallen or have turned yellow/purple/ black what have you then I wait another week or so... patience is key.

I sometimes can chop, hang dry and into jars. Very shortly after jarred (week or less) ready to smoke (or vape in my case). Kinda like grapes, let the flowers ripen on the vine... This is just how I do it... I get some mighty fine buddage this way but some will argue take it 50% clear trichomes...

It comes down to how you like your meds. Try some early harvest ... then try ripe on the vine, late harvest. Soon 'nuf you will find what you prefer. This is the coolest part of organics, it gets to that level of taste, meds and effect; grow to your own personal taste.

I like to keep a few jars around that are all different and use what my mood strikes me in the moment and friends!

hey guys jus alil update i was guna do an update for the veg tent since my early vixen and purple kush have popped and already devloped there second and third sets of leaves and my ev (early vixen) is only 11 days old and my pk (purple kush) is 12 days old and both are working on there 3rd set of leaves 4th if u include those lil round sugar leaves i think they r... i mite be wrong on tht tho lol.... the lil leaves u 1st see wen it first pops above soil is what im talkn about but yea i dnt normally include those so id say they r workn on there third set of leaves and its not even 2weeks man i cant wait to see how these turn out im so done with the broken down genetics ive been working with i mean dnt get me wrong its been nice havn smke but i want tht medical grade so hopefully now my stuff will taste better now i got sum gud genes to work with hopefully the buds wont be so leafy i noticed on my stuff i been harvesting n growing so far do 2 broken up genes im guessn is tht the buds where super super leafy sum to the point u cudnt trim it off otherwise u wudnt have barely nuthn left i thought i got all of em tht lookd like tht out but 2day found 2 buds tht where alot of leaf so im guessn thts y wen i smell it in the jar it smells ok but then wen i tryn smell a single bud it smells like hay plus the over all smoke is kinda harsh but still gets u high so yeah hopefully done with tht and on to sum beautiful buds but 4 now pics for this part of the update

oh i forgot my new led light came in the mail today to so i got tht setup hanging above the girls and two of my other mars hydro cubes on the front for side lighting and my new light is 600 watts and it has both veg and bloom switches on it so i jus put both on at the same time figured the plants wud like it alot mre with both switches running

this is my EV she was put into soil on Dec. 26th 2016 and she is 1 day younger then my PK but about twice as tall

here is my PK and she was put into soil on Dec. 25th 2016 man im so pumped to grow this 1 idk why but the purple plants always got my attention growing up lol ive always said i wud grow sum pk sum day well now i am and look u can slightly see the purple already on the stem go baby girl go the race is on lol

and here is a full shot of my veg tent n tht big 1 is the last of the broken gene line ill be growing now woo hooo lol but yea i figured id do sum crazy training on her ive always wanted a bonsi pot tree but obviously parents wud never let me grow one growing up myself lol but now i can so thts what im doin is slowly bending and twisting all the branches and i cut off all the lower flower sites in hopes of opening up the canopy and by leaving only the top 2 r 3 buds on each stem im hoping it will give all tht energy into makn those bud sites into colas and jus get em fat and juicy atleast thts my plan so hopefully it works out but yea every1 thanx for all the incouragement it really helps to keep my positive energy flowing and as always keep it green and frosty get ur snowman on haha every1

thanx guys for all the help and the good words they are a great confidence boost but yea on to a slightly new update i no its not much really but i jus cant get over how much my new pk and ev grew while i was away for the weekend and it was only like 2days man oh man i cant wait for her 2 be ready for harvest i hope these girls give sum potent meds anyway on to sum bud porn here they r at 11 and 12 days old

and again at 15 and 16 days old the tall 1 is the early vixen and the short 1 is my purple kush she is already puting out purple stems lol i bet she guna be a smelly beautiful girl lol but yea here they r today

here is my girl in the above pic tht will be coming down any day now jus letn her get alil fatter due to my alfalfa tea boost i gave her on monday lasweek jus letn her pack on sum extra weight now which she seems to be doing

and here is my 2 ladies in my los mix soil kit from bas.com an they seem to be doing great the got buds starting to form on them now and a lot of them its got me all giddy like a lil school girl lol but yea hope u all enjoy and as always member keep it green and stay frosty get ur snowman on

All the ladies look good to me.. don't worry about all that yellow = compost. I love to see the colorful fall/harvest colors.

That one looks like she's just about ready. The one with the orange and yellow leaves. Looks just like the plant I posted a pic of last week here. Maybe its the soil makin those nice orange colors.

Regarding the hay flavor. There's usually 2 reasons for that.

You let the buds get too dry before jarring them up.
Too much leaf left on the bud after trim.

Or both...

What I do when I hang dry... I usually hang the whole plant, chop, drop and hang. That slows down the drying time. (be careful if it's humid). This time of year no problems with that. You chop and cut the limbs. That makes drying time go faster and I don't like the flavors like you mentioned.

Drying and curing is as important to final product as is the growing phase.

So it's all about RH (relative humidity) during the drying phase... this time of year I let my plants hang for MAYBE 3-4 days.... they get crispy pretty quick. One day they are wet and gooey and the next day crispy... important to final trim and into jars once a little crispy. If you decide to trim a little early .. leave the lid off the jar overnight... the buds will be perfect the next day. Once you put the lid on they will moisten up a little so check them daily during the curing phase.. and be sure to smoke test a few nugs while yer there an all! Right?

You are cutting the branches so drying may only take like 2-3 days ... everybody is different with how they wanna do this part but really if you're going to the trouble to do organic soil, drying and curing makes a HUGE difference with taste.

I add Boveda packs 62% to my jars to cure. The 62% packs will keep the buds moist while they cure. You will need to take buds out a head of time like the previous day if you wanna smoke some tomorrow... like that. 62% is too moist to smoke.. Vaping isn't even that fun when right out of the jar.

Now that yer stocked up with some mighty fine HG buddy... time to roll one up and puff puff pass... just sayin...

oh yeah i will b4 sure lol jus goin in 2day to check if it needs alil more of a trim? So u say trim it the rest of the way wen it starts to get alil crispy?? then i shud jar it and i also got the 62% boveda packs to put in with the buds, shud i put the pack in with the buds right away when i put them into jars or wait a day r 2??

yea i also noticed tht wen i went to organics my plants got alot better smelling to cause my first few harvests smelled like hay and i prolly did let a few of them dry out to much b4 jarring but i also noticed im guessing cause of the genetics were kinda shity but they had like double leafs growing out of the same leaf spot so they were really leafy but wen i went to organic they dont have tht hay smell and smell like fruit loops lol but yea this girl tht i jus harvested is half and half i jus noticed tht it was half bag soil which is organic to its roots organic from aurora and half my super soil mix but yea if im noticing a different smell n its this gud from only a half n half mix i cant wait till my girls in the full los mix get ready for the chop shop lol but yea to all and member keep it green and stay frosty get ur snowman on.

I let them dry on the individual branches for a few days until I notice the outside of the buds start to get crispy the I cut the buds off and jar them with the 62% bovedas. I have to open the jars after a half of day or so to air the buds out. They usually get wet again then pull them out and lay them on newspaper for a few hours until they crisp up and repeat for a few days until they stop sticking together in the jars usually around a week or so. I got some 58% bovedas that I like better that I transfer my older buds to so I can smoke them straight from the jar too!!

yea thts my nex step is i gotta get 58% boveda packs i got a few of the 62% packs to put in the jars with the buds and im experimenting with leaving the leaves on as it drys and slowly take them off as they turn crispy and see if tht dnt help with flavor or potency versus leaving them on for so long i left the last 1s on till it was really really dry and the buds smell like hay but u still get hi and when u break it up then it stinks gud but when u smell jus a single bud it smells like hay but yea the seeds i had been working with had broken up genetics so they r super leafy buds n im guessn or atleast hoping lol tht my seeds i orderd will be alot better and less leafy

Right Thts what I figured is after 1 run the roots bag soil wud be used up so I jus toss it outside in my garden but as for my los mix what amendments would I use from bas or is the craft blend they sell gud enuf??

Here is my one girl in my los mix she is doin pretty gud she transitioned under the new light pretty gud to I believe I forgot to move my side lights out alil bit wen I turned them on the other day and I believe Thts why the edges look like tht altho I cud be wrong so if any1 knows what it mite be please let me know

And here is my other girl tht is droopy and sad n always looks like she needs 2 be waterd even wen I water her I was thinkn on mayb doin alil em-1 to help boost the soil or coconut water idk if any1 can help me igure it out I was greatly appreciate it n member to keep it green n stay frosty every1

Yea I'm waiting for my ipm order to arrive in the mail cuz I do have a very slight gnat issuenot really an issue per say but maybe cuz bobrown14 said there cud be bud issues tht I can't even see below the soil going on so hope not but we will see I got a few things I'll and up trying b4 I give up n let her go she is still 2 livley 4 me to throw her so we will see but for the info I appreciate it

K so I was guna do jus a mini update with 2 pics of jus the veg tent but figured I'd I'd jus do a full update n get every1s opinion on what they think I shud do so first things first the veg tent is now jus my 2 good genetic seeds 1 purple kush n 1 early vixen

Here is my purple kush look u can see the purple stems I hope this one really has a lot of purple in it cuz this will be the first strain I've had with color like this but in a gud way not from stressing it out or freezing it to get it to go purple which is stressing it out actually anyway so technically same thing but yea I'm really excited about these 2 I hope they have a way better cured smell n taste cuz my las few harvest got me high and a few different family members and a few friends tht I snuck it in there n said I jus got alil from a buddy n it was one of his "new kinds" lol and they all said they got high jus no tast. Really n had a hay smell 2 it wen u smelled jus a bud but in the jar it was ok ish lol but yea hopefully these won't do tht now I'm into my super soil fully my very last one was with my shity seeds but it turns out way better smell n taste n tht was with half n half roots organic bag soil n super soil from bas.com now I've used up all my root organic n am jus using straight up my super soil kit

Ok so only 1 of my pic got uploaded of my early vixen but here is the 1 so far I'm guna go re tryn post the others after I'm done with this update well the first part anyway lol but yea this girl is taken off dare I say like a "weed" lol but 4 real these girls are only like 3 weeks roughly without lookn at exact date but yea they r lookn great the only thing tht has me worried is on my pk she has her leaves doing tht curl thing on a few of em but yea now I'm guna go tryn upload the other pics of my ev girl
