Bill C-45: Canada's Legalization, The Drama Revs Up

I don't think it will pass through both the House and Senate in the twelve days available. It will be the middle of Sept before the Senate sits again. My prediction is late Oct to the end of Nov before it becomes law.

I have some words for those conservative senators. Not worth repeating here. They kept 28 of the amendments, I am hoping the few sticking points can be ironed out sooner rather than later, I would be pissed if it wasn’t law until November. But, not surprised, these criminals gotta find some cookie jar to shove their greasy paws into before it becomes law. Rich get richer

The HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) wants to ban outdoor grows. The city is physically a very small part of the HRM.

Once again, it's the city core of the HRM, Halifax. Dartmouth, Bedford, and Sackville, that are making the rules. I can understand why where homes are close together. Those with larger rural properties, where the smell would not be an issue are probably being held to the same standard so there can be no cries of 'favoritism.' We went through this earlier with laying hens. They blanket banned them for the HRM, then lifted the ban for rural properties.

They should regulate this by property size, say a minimum of 1/3 acre.

I am sure that we will see a lot of municipalities setting outdoor regulations.

On C-45, the amendments will be debated Monday in Parliament & then the altered bill will be sent to the Senate. The clock is ticking to wrap it before summer recess.

I suspect the internal pressure to get this done will reflect on Monday’s quick review. Time is ticking, they are thinking cash, and votes.
After all those years of bullshit about the life-threatening dangers of indoor grows...

Yeah the irony. The narrative is always changing based on the various stakeholders who gain to benefit the most.

C-45 was back on the Senate floor tonight. Some seriously stupid questions were asked. They will resume tomorrow . . .

I suspect they reflect many questions that I have seen in the comments online after articles about legalization...

“What if my next door neighbour is smoking pot in his house. And his window is open. And my window is open. What if all that smoke drifts out of his house and into my house. I don’t want to get high. That’s why I don’t think we should rush to legalization.”

“We shouldn’t let people grow their own weed because they don’t know what they are getting. They might accidentally grow super potent pot, or it might have chemicals in it. Plus, if they have all this pot, their kids can take it, and share it with other kids. Creating a kids market.”

C-45 just passed. Canada will have legal cannabis. :ganjamon:

Why can’t they ban growing in big city’s outdoors ;I can at least agree to that . But small towns it should be allowed with a limit of course . It’s not a drug for me no doctors want to help they only want here take this pill .

It’s a seed organic at that . It all comes down to then wanting more tax money for them to pay off their mistakes and backdoor deals and bribes . Give us a plant to relax us and let us be please . I agree their should be rules or guidelines . I’m already trying to take safety measures best I can . Kids dogs pets etc. ..

I hope Canada can come to terms that we should have the right to consume cannabis as individuals. It’s not a drug it’s medicine. If your kid is doing it and you don’t want him to that’s s parenting thing .

I just want to be allowed peace of mind I suffer from anxiety greatly . Having to fear jail where really bad people are scares me. I deserve to go there for trying to give my self a relief medicine a anti inflammatory a pain targeter?

Sorry it sads me to hear about it not becoming legal I’ve edicsted myself over two years here in hopes of this day where I don’t have to hide what I love .

Sorry just had to vent .

All great points and discussion I’m not great at following but you all make it easy to follow and understand on here .

Keep debating discussing :passitleft::rollit:

People educate themselves before opening their mouth clearly . See stupid peoples comments above .. really.
I understand the point but can you not close your window of the smell bothers you?

Or what happened to hey I know we’re legal but do you mind keeping your windows close when consuming ?

“Chemicals or something “ really again see 420 Magazine to educate yourself here :bong::passitleft:

Nationally 4 plants per household. 2 provinces & 1 territory passed (or will pass) provincial laws outlawing home grow. It will be up to a future (but inevitable) court challenge to see if those laws can stand.

Indoor or outdoor can be determined by your province or municipality.
