BF LSD 5 Plant Coco Spring 18

It's ALWAYS hard for me to determine the perfect harvest time. Somethings it just depends on my mood. But I know there is supposed to be a window of perfect harvest time. Of course everyone is different. I basically harvest once I see red trichs on every bud I look at. Just a couple but not all red. Weed seems not too sleepy or whatever they say comes with late harvests....and I like a good sativa high so if I am a bit early I think I am alright.

If you are indoors it seems pretty consistent to what seed companies - or seeedfinder website - puts on the package.

Some people harvest when they are 50/50 cloudy/clear....

Good luck,

-lazy

Looks like tomorrow they will go into a plastic bag overnight the laid on the the hanging screen to finish drying. Then into the jars for curing.

Funny thing about curing, a grow that I harvested in April of last year, Super Citrus Haze and White Widow have been in jars with a Boveda Humidity Packs since. After about a three week cure we sampled both, on different days, and the SCH was truly amazing and the WW was so so. Have had two grows since then so have not finished about a zip of the SCH and about three zips of the WW.
Had a long time friend come to visit a few weeks back and I gave him some SCH, WW and some of the new grow of LSD. I spoke to him yesterday and he said the LSD just kicks his ass, can't do a thing for a few hours, the SCH is more sutal but a big high. But he said the WW was his favorite, he said a big bowl before bedtime and it is lights out as soon as his head hits the pillow.
So I pull some out last night and sure enough, that pot has totally change character over the past year, I got no sleepy effect a year ago but it is very good night time cannabis now. Going to keep a bit of it for night time smoke.
Two zips of the WW will be going into my next batch of FECO, along with some G13 Haze, the rest of my Critical Kush, and a majority of the oil will be from the LSD. I hope to make in the next week or so. Will be using around a pound of cannabis and hope to get 65 to 80 grams of FECO.

Okay, so here is a progression of the weekly flower.
I started flower 1/29/18 and harvested on day 63, 4/2/18. The two extra plants in the tent went to my buddies at the PTSD group I work with.

Week 1 Start stretch.

Week 2 Bud starting to form. Spread them out some.

Week 3 Was not able to defo day, did it the next day. Spread them again.

Week 4 Buds taking shape, got another 3 inches of stretch this week.

Week 5 Removed additional fan leaves, Spread the out some.

Week 6 Did not get home in time to take pics this was the next morning. Re positioned some of the buds. That Thursday I added the SS400 LED in flower mode with the two UV lamp on also.

Week 7 Can see a new burst of pistils, guessing it's the addition of the LED to the mix. The buds are really beginning to thicken and they are tight.

Week 8 Started flush 10 days prior to harvest, ran the rez's down very low and started adding straight RO water for the next 8 days. On the Friday prior to harvest they received their last watering and they were allowed to dry completely before harvest.

Week 9 Time to harvest, the rest are all Pheno #1. This was actually taken on 5 days before harvest but it was the last group pic I had. Was so ready to chop I did not take a group pic on harvest day.

The buds are on the last day or next to the last day of drying, will go into jars tomorrow or Monday for the cure.
Smoke report soon.

Now all my energy is going into the LSD Pheno #5 Monster Crop. Journal in my Signature. It's going to be interesting.

Harvested last Monday hung until Wednesday when the racks collapsed in the drying room. Got the Stackit drying screens out and placed the buds on them.

Thursday morning when they were dry to the touch on the outer layer but still very pliable. Took the buds down and put them in a plastic bag and sealed them till late that night, did not want to leave the plastic overnight so I put them in paper bags . On Friday mid day I removed the buds from the paper bag and put them back into the plastic bag. Saturday morning they were put on the Stackit drying screens and put back into the drying room to finish, untill this morning.

Removed them off the screen and put them in a quart jar box to weigh.

Then I trimmed them for going into the jars for curing. I remove all side buds and leave the last few inches of the arrow buds.

Everything trimmed and ready to be weighed.

After weighing they were put back into the box to be transferred to the jars.

Was running a little short on jars so had to pack them a bit but finished with 10 quarts and two half gallon jars. Show 11 quarts but combined that small amount the the middle jar with some of the other jars.

Now for a two to three week cure, twice daily burps for the first week plus then every other day till cured.

This was 647 grams from 4 plants of Pheno #1 and 98 grams of Pheno #3 (not pictured) that was harvested last week it comes to 745 grams, 26.5 zips or 1.18 grams/watt. I do expect to lose around 5% more weight during cure, but I am a very happy man. Will be making oil very shortly.

Just a few more pics of harvest.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, you folks are great.
Now come check out the Monster Grow in my sig. it's going to be fun.

congratulations on your harvest gr looks good man you should get some oil from that ill be over to your next grow have a good one gr!:welldone:

Thanks buddy, I have the remnants of the past few grows.
Will use about 1.5 zips of WW, 3 zips of Super Citrus Haze, a couple of zips of G13 Haze and about10 or so zips of this LSD Pheno #1 and 3 to make the oil. Wish I had a few more zips of the White Widow as it is very Indica dominant and would made a great addition to the batch of oil.

Hey GR
Just wanted to thank you for a very informative and entertaining journal experience. You have grown some beautiful girls (and possibly more grams per watt than any other Grow I’ve seen here!). Given I’m learning how to grow indoors now, in Coco, your journal has been really helpful. Respect & Regards from Western Australia.

Thanks for the nice words, I hope you were able to get some good info from the journal. My last 3 grows have been 24.5, 17 and 26.5 zips of smokable buds. Have used well over 2/3 of my grows go into making FECO. Looking forward to doing another vertical grow this fall. I do have a fun grow going on now, my LSD Pheno #5 Monster Cropper and she fits the name.

Sunday we made a small batch of FECO, 8 grams. That was two oz of buds and the quality is very good.
Yesterday I got the rest of the extraction completed. This was done using 14 ounces of bud. Today is reduction day.
This is what the extraction looks like prior to going into the distiller. This has been filtered 4 times last time was with 3 filters. Very clean starting product.

The distiller with the alcohol recovery jug attached.

Inside of distiller.

I used the frozen extraction method. This method extracts the trichomes and very little chlorophyll. Freeze and grind very dry buds and refreeze them, Freezing the buds first drys them very well. Freeze the 190 proof alcohol and keep in the freezer until ready to use. I worked in the a large Igloo with 15 pounds of dry Ice and kept everything in the freezer until ready to use. Once extracted it goes back into the Everclear bottles in preparation for reduction. Reducing now.

Weight of the cannabis used, about 14 zips.
Weight of FECO 54 grams, so just under 4 grams/zip. I was expecting some where around 60 g's so I am not unhappy. The quality is very good.

Anna, Happy 420 to ya!
This is a horizontal grow, lights hung in the horizontal position.
This is a vertical grow, lights hung bare bulb vertically.
This is a look straight down, there are two lamps hung there.

I use 5 screens and attach the plant to the screens

Here is a look from the outside looking into the tent.

This is a pic of the one of the plants at day 21 of flower, this is the day that I defoliate the plants.
Another pic looking down, the plants are in veg in this pic.

Anna, I hope this explains vertical, you can Google it and find a lot of info on this growing technique.
