Beensmokin's Bagseed Bonanza

Saviour #2 is a female! :tommy:

So that makes for 2 females in the grow room... Again! :laughtwo:

I've got some olivia's cloning gel coming today, hopefully, so I can take a couple cuts of the Gas #1 and fill my room up a bit more. I know they'll be behind the other 2 but its all good, I don't mind having a couple weeks in between harvests. That just ensures me haveing bud that much longer, heh.

Height Update:

Gas #1 - 28"

Saviour #2 - 7"

So far we are 17 days into flowering and Gas #1 is showing white hairs at almost every internode. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Got my olivia's cloning gel in today..... Took my first cuts and they seem to be done right, pic will be up apon approval. I had to take short clones b/c my humidity dome is only like 4" or so but all is well. I trimmed off the leaves on the internode I made the cut at. I dipped em in the cloning gel then placed them in what I believe to be rapid rooters, the bag they came in had no markings.

I used to use that stuff. It worked great. I use a powder version now thats available at any garden supply store. Haven't had problems with that either. Cloning is easy, just remember to clip extras cause some of them do not root as fast as others. I try to keep the ones with the longer roots and discard the late rooting clones. You will know which to discard when your ready for the transplant.

Here are the clones...

Thats great to hear! I'm gonna need all the advice I can get, this is my first attempt at cloning w/ the proper supplies/gear. My next grow will hopefully be full of 100% clones so I can fill my closet up with at least 6 and quit this guessing game of males and females.

You should take more clones. So you can pick the best ones. Some clones start slower than others and those tend to look stunted compared to the more rapid rooters plus its good for the practice.
Forgot to answer your question. Yes, sounds about right. Make sure you spray often and if you use HIDs for lighting that they are all the way up. High level lighting is not required for rooting, it will actually work against ya.

My clones are on a 105w fluoro nestled in a humidity dome. I spray them 2-3 times a day or as needed to keep the dome and plants nice n moist.

I would take more but I'm not sure if I will have enough soil to pot em. For now I just gotta deal w/ 2. Next grow when I get a fresh bag I'll have a closet full!!! Thanks Urdedpal!

They need to rest Buba
some bit of dark to relax :cheesygrinsmiley:

:hmmmm: Really? I've always read/heard of people using a 24 hour light cycle w/ no problems during cloning and vegging and I've always used a 24hr light cycle on most of my grows w/o problem. Basically what I'm sayin is, :cheesygrinsmiley: your gonna have to try a little bit harder to convince me to change my light cycle, :laughtwo:

I'm not meaning to sound rude but I have a tendancy to stick w/ what works for me personally and the 24 light cycle has worked wonders for me, so its kinda hard to just change it ya dig? You are more than welcome, as well as anyone, to convince me otherwise though. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'll give it a go. Gotta find my old veg timer, its around here somewhere, heh.

No one ever asks about my light b/c no one ever see's my light, heheheeeee :cheesygrinsmiley: I guess you could call me and my lil family, under the radar or loners. We keep to our selves. But if for some reason someone does show up we are sure to tidey up the place b/f we even look through the eyehole to see who it is. My family knows better than to just show up too, we kinda just have this understanding. Works out for everyone. :peace:

Old Jorge Cervantes gives a couple reasons to do 18/6 over 24 all the time...ill find em and edit the post after I smoke this bowl and crack open this beer.

Ok, here we go, straight from his book:
"Eighteen hours of light per day will give marijuana all the light it needs to sustain vegative growth. But longer photoperiods could evoke male plants in seedlings...some growers leave their light on 24 hours a day. Marijuana can only process 16-18 hours of light per day efficiently. After that, a point of diminishing returns is reached and you are only waisting electricity." He even says you can veg seeds under 14-16 hours of light and it can increase your females.
I also remember reading in this book about how after the lights go off, since the leaves wont be taking in light, the plant uses stored energy to grow new roots. Apparently root growth is accelerated at night, and I have seen this myself with cloning, when the lights go off not seeing any roots and then in the morning there is a good centimeter sticking out. Then its just slightly bigger by the end of the day and then bigger in the morning again.
Plus one more reason why I like 18/6(this is just my point of view)...its more natural. Is there anywhere on earth that plants grow in 24 hours of sunlight all day...no, there isnt. The poles are the only places that there is 24 hours of light and thats only during the summers. Marijuana, im sure, has evolved over the millions of years just like everything else, why give it more light than it has had since its existance?
Let me know what you decide.
