Right :) It's a kind of magic that nature can do all this stuff. This mycorrhizae looks like fairy dust.

DIRTY BIRD GENETICS > BLACK PHOENIX (The Brunch F1 x Bahama Mama)

Breeder:
Dirty Bird Genetics

Genetics: The Brunch F1 x Bahama Mama

Cannabis Type: Sativa Hybrid

Flowering Time: 55 – 60 Days

Yield: Medium-High

Plant Morphology: The Black Phoenix is a stellar new addition to our lineup. Top this plant a few times to increase yields from average to above average. As both parents have excelled outside in the past, we have high hopes for what it will do in our garden this season. Expect long internodal spacing, great airflow, a very high calyx to leaf ratio, and beautiful velvet purples during flower. The beauty and high of the Bahama Mama are blended perfectly with the yield, taste, and high of the Brunch. She can hold herself up for a surprising amount of time, but you will need to get things staked up when the weight really starts packing on.

Height: Tall

Density: Average/high

Terpenes: A mix of fruity, floral, and earthy. Limonene is the dominant terpene. Caryophyllene, linalool, and ocimene are also prevalent.

Effect: A perfectly balanced daytime smoke. Strong enough to make you feel awkward ordering through the drive-thru, but not so strong that you can’t drive the car home. With this bud, you’ll be the phoenix and rise from the ash.

Even without getting a seed wet, Dirty Bird Genetics and @North Atlantic Seed Co have gone straight into my favorites list.
NASC is a woman owned seed bank and Dirty Bird Genetics is their line.
That’s important because, if you want to beat the girlz, ya gotta be the girlz!
(Or something like that)
DBG has hands down, the best packaging I’ve seen. It shows how much pride they put it their product, and makes me look forward to seeing these plants grow!

I'm sorry my update was premature!

I'm sorry my update was premature!
Miss ray your completely fine ...*edit* no one here is going to complain.

I was just waiting for everyone to get the initial intro post in before I get into a detailed starter post.....seed to sprout.

UPDATE:
I need to get this up while I can, damaged tower problems here are causing internet and telephone outages.

So, here we go!:slide:

Two of each @Barney's Farm strain seeds are into distilled water where I will leave them for 8-12 hours, or until they sink. Mimosa EVO and Gorilla Zkittlez
Then they go into damp paper towels.

Alright......here.....we......go!

To start we will go over how the pot is set up for little milkyway. As normal I line the bottom of the pot with about a half inch to an inch of perlite.
IMG_20240528_162657304_HDR.jpg

Followed by an inch of dirt lightly compacted.
IMG_20240528_162928782_HDR.jpg

Next root inoculant by @DYNOMYCO and bone meal added.
IMG_20240528_163106932_HDR.jpg
IMG_20240528_163155522_HDR.jpg

After that I then fill the pot 2 inches then lightly compact....and repeat every 2 inches. And place my reference starter pot in the center and fill it up to about an inch from top of pot, that space is reserved for garden top cover sand to help manage any soil pests. Adding the sand is a new process I've decided to add to every grow from this point on as it is doing wonders on my two outside ladies disrupting the fungus gnat life cycle and it makes for undesirable breeding grounds.
IMG_20240528_163631821_HDR.jpg

Next I'm onto seed preparation. All my seeds go through a 1-2 minute peroxide soak before being scuffed on the hard edge and placed in water to soak for germination.

2024_05_27_11_51_20_430.png

Once in the water I wait for the seed to split and show me a tiny tap root. I know a lot of growers will then paper towel them and allow the tap root to get pretty long before planting....I however do not wait. Once the tail is outside of the shell they get planted immediately.
2024_05_28_16_48_14_187.png

And after about 2-3 days under soil I have life above surface. This photo was taken this morning ( 6:30a.m) so I would assume it's going to be standing more and open by the time I get home.
IMG_20240531_063929631.jpg

I will wait until she has her first set of real leaves before she is transplanted.

All that's left to do is wait and smoke until something else happens 😁.:bongrip: :headbanger:
