Beateo's - Soil - Lemon Kush Feminized - 2014 - 1st Attempt

That sounds like they're ready to me. Isn't it clear and/or amber to start with, turning to milky as they mature?

Trichomes start as clear then change to cloudy then to amber as their final stage.

A quick photo update.... day 64 of flowering. This is my Wild Child

Hey B, can you refresh our memory re: the origin of Wild Child's genetics? You discussed it earlier in your journal but I wasn't taking notes yet. Also, when she was in the preflower stage, it did appear that her stretching might result in stem strength issues. How is she holding up? From watching her dance over the past almost two months now (per your most awesome updates), she seems to be very set in her own way of doing things - and I must say that she is implementing that perfectly. I must also emphasize and commend your patience and awareness of this in allowing her to be her. That takes patience and unconditional love B and for that Bravo and well done. This is your first grow and you patiently kept your eyes open to let the plants show you what they do naturally and you nutured exactly that!
IMHO, this is one of the most admirable traits in gardening and the human-plant relationship - there are no words, literally.

Well done Beateo!

My 8 weeks flowering Exodus Cheese is not showing ambers yet either. I suspect that at least I made an error .. I think one should start counting flowering, from the moment she shows sex .. not from the moment you flip. I'm not sure what you did, but I'm sure I counted from flip.

PlanetJ, My plants have been growing since mid-August. I flipped them at the beginning of November..... I was under the impression that you started counting when you flipped? I'll tell you what's going on....they're just being stubborn about it! They should be covered in ambers but even though they look like they're rolled in powdered sugar, they don't show a single amber trichome! They're doing it on purpose.... yeah, I know I sound nuts... but I swear I heard Wild Child snicker a little when I left the room! lol

colorfuldayze, I honestly have no idea about her genetics. She was given to me by my father who got her from a friend at our family's camp... she was a give to my dad then to me. Dad's in his 80's and won't smoke anything that is grown by "damn strangers". :) My dad's chronic pain is the real reason I started to grow my own... Me and my wife also decided to try the pain fighting qualities of marijuana and found it to be every bit as effective as the narcotics with none of the risks or addiction!
I am convinced... not by science... but by a gut feeling, that she is a sativa. For some reason she out grew all the others by twice as much! I'm surprised she's able to hold up all that bud mass with those spindly little branches but she's doing it! :) She definitely has the most character of all my girls. I've learned so much from her. Thanks as always for the kind words my friend.

It's nice to be able to sample daily tho, and notice taste and effect progress :)

I noticed that 1,5 hour in a 50C oven will dry the buds nicely, without seriously deteriorating smell or taste. It will probably somewhat degrade THC. After this quick dry I place them in a cardboard container with a Boveda 62 pack in it, which moisturises the now crispy bud again to the extend that it feels and smokes like dry, just a tad to wet.

Maybe someone could comment on when you start counting flowering .. at the first sign of pistils, or when you flip ?

I've decided to change the way I do these updates..... again. At this stage of the game I think it would benefit others more to see all of them instead of just one every few days. There's little sense taking pictures of plants that everyone has been looking at for months. The only difference between now and last update is an imperceptible bit of height. There is more bulk of the buds though and that's what I'm going to show.
I also went out yesterday and bought all of the soil mixture I'll need for my next grow. I got it all mixed and 6- 5 gallon buckets filled. I'm not going to be adding any forest dirt this time since the ground is frozen solid.... I'll use a bit of top soil and a bunch of vermiculite.
