Looking good Bass. As far as using the MH in flower I think its more for the first two weeks or so to keep stretch to a minimum
BTW I like that new hood.

Hey Bass, I just read through, I like the new hood, $200 is steep, but I think it will be we'll worth it in the end for you. Your a good man for helping your mom the way you are. I'll be hanging to watch your grow.

Update
Day 7 in flower, day 17 in 12/12, 24 hrs on new hood.
I'm totally thrilled with this new hood. I'm totally depressed with how much I've spent on gear and how much I've spent on upgraded. Back to 1000 watts (was 750 because of heat-air leaks from old hood) and the max temp has been 82f. Sealing it all up with a good hood and being able to close the tent up more and let the carbon filter pull air seems to have helped a lot.
While I can't say for sure, but it appears that deficiency issue is gone. A few more days should let me know better.
The girls are stretching well. They're fairly wide as well. The runt of the litter, the girl in the back left is probably 6" shorter than the rest still. She's doing fine, but no idea why she's that far behind the others. Normally one would bend over anything that's 6" taller when using high defoliation technique, but I think in the end, the bending would possibly overcrowd that smaller gal. So I'm going to let it be.
Because I pulled some bad leaf during this 12/12 period I'm not going to strip at day 21 exactly. I'll keep an eye on the girls and when I think stretch is over, I'll strip. More than likely I suspect this will be Tuesday - Fri next week. Or basically day 23-26 of 12/12.
PPM is at 1150 or so.
PH is 5.8
RH is 46%
Temp max is 81-82f
Looking for experienced opinions here:
I've been reading there seems to be a trend with people using MH lights in flower rather than HPS. Folks talk about denser buds and more trichomes.
Question:
1. Is this true and if so what are we looking for in a MH light to purchase and use in flower.
2. Would it be beneficial for me at this point to switch?
Here's some pics from today!
Below: These two taller branches, the one on the right is a main branch, the one on the left is an off shoot. Both same height thanks to bending.
Random close up:
This top is in an absolute corner of the tent, furthest from the light.
from what i have been reading its best to use the mh during the first couple of weeks of flower, it says to use the mh until you see flowers forming, so at the moment i have a dual spectrum 400 watt hps with digital ballast, now i get 55,000 lumins from this dual spec bulb, i went with the dual spec so it would suitable for both flower and veg stage, but the blue spectrum is not enough and the plants still stretch to some extent, so ill buy a standard 400 watt hps that gives off 65,000lumins, then ill buy a 400watt mh and as my ballast is the digital type then i can use a mh bulb in my hps ballast, how ever this dont work the other way round, you cant use a hps bulb in a mh ballast, not sure why you cant but clearly it dont work, but as long as you got a hps digital ballast then you can run a mh of the same watt in this type of ballast
so my plan is to buy the best 400watt hps bulb with the highest lumins and the same with the mh bulb, ill then use the mh bulb for veg and when i flip to flower ill keep the mh bulb in for the first 2 weeks, then when the plant is clearly in flower ill switch to the hps, this method is suppose to be the best method for getting the most from the plants, as of yet i have not tried this so cant vouch for it either way, but its something ill be giving a try once i get some new bulbs
