Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Veg Tent Update....

Hey 420! Mrs Flora has stolen the camera so we have tablet pics today. I really hope that she doesn't lose it. She doesn't have a great track record with looking after things and there is alcohol involved lol. I'm pleased to report that I was wrong when I said that I bet I'll find something on the SL 2. No thrips today that I can find on any of the plants. That certainly doesn't mean that we've won but it does mean that non of the plants are currently suffering. I think it's a case of control rather than eradication. As it happens I may have a grow room full of hydro plants soon and I think that will help. I'll get springtails instead but they're not as much of a problem. I always get springtails in hydro since moving to this house whereas before I'd never seen them. These 4 are doing great and I may going to have to decide whether to transplant or root prune soon. Before I water them again I'll pull them out of the pot so to get a better look so o can make a decision. Won't be long before I top them as well. Here we are today....

Gorilla Zkittles....

It's flowering day 48 for this baby. Frosty, stinky has some great colours. Not bad buds for 200w of lighting either. I think we have around 2 weeks left for this one. I'm happy so far....

I keep forgetting the low power going in prof. even more if a result with that fact too.

Orange Sherbert....

She's my favourite again! #teamorangesherbert. Her buds are chunky and dense and have a great aroma. I hope that the other 2 seeds I have of this strain are similar. She has my preferred cannabis plant structure being short and dense. Out of the 2 in this tent I'd have chosen the OS for sea of green growing. I'd love to run this plant in my 10 pot dripper system. This one is also on day 48 of flower but will finish up slightly sooner than the GZ. I'm thinking maybe 10 days or so left....

Phantom OG....

I know that I've only just sorted out the image quality for all you lovely folk but it's back to blinding orange today I'm afraid. She's doing great though and is drinking like a fish. She's got some nice nugs already and there is a lot of them. I'm glad that I decided to use the HPS as it's actually made for a much better environment. Maybe one day I'll get some more decent LEDs to cover the space properly but for now it's just too expensive. There is a lot of really cheap single COB units that come in at 50w available online but I don't want to get a few of them only to be disappointed with the quality and effectiveness. Plus I've noticed that the cheaper the LED the hotter they usually run and that's something I'm trying to avoid. I thought about getting some to test out but I've decided against it and would probably save up for something tried and tested like the new Mars models. Anyway back to the POG. No thrips in here anymore which has surprised me a little. I thought that I may have been battling with them all through flower. She has a nice but kind of generic early cannabis smell at the moment but I'm sure that's all going to change over the next couple weeks. No complaints in here again....

orange tinge or not they look beautiful Prof. as for the lights , i cannot sing the praises enough of the tls. Hope the penetration holds out as they get taller.

These lights give me a sense of reassurance. In the future when we move home we'll have to adapt our grow style to suit our circumstances. I know that with these lights I can get ok yields but the main selling point is that I can pretty much put them anywhere and not have to worry about heat issues. Under the kitchen sink? No problem. In a wardrobe that's in a room with no ventilation? No problem. I could use these in space buckets which was something I always wanted to have a go at. I like the idea of growing in tiny areas. At the moment I'm catering for a large family so I need more bud but that won't be forever. I look forward to the day when I only have to grow enough for the misses and myself.

The penetration should be fine. How did the temps hold out during the heatwave? I did surprisingly well and kept both flowering tents below 26C for the majority of it.
Love that POG!!!
She's a beauty and so far I'd recommend her to growers. I'm going to try and get in there for lights out this evening. I'd like to see what shade she is without the HPS in my face. Hopefully Mrs Flora brings the camera home today. I'm anxious lol

The heatwave finally caught us here for half a day. did get to 32°c for a time so had to open doors and put fan blowing into it from outside. I think the lights have saved it getting scary hot even with the tubes on. The insulation i did the attic roof in before the tent went up , deflect heat and wont allow it to pass through it but i still get get hot air pulled in through the eaves. plan is to complete the box idea for the whole space which will should deflect everything and keep the temp inside the tent at a more stable and growable temp. Extactor going in today once i have silenced it with diy padding. I want it outside the grow space now to avoid anything adding heat. I use the liquid ice too which is good for upwards of the 30's. Ladies did ok though and no obvious signs of heat issues. coco still slightly moist ( feed today anayway).
26 is good mate .surprising how cool tubes can move serious heat and still feel coolish as you get close to them.

I'm fortunate to have the room which we grown in on the north side of our house. It's also half underground which means it's easier to keep cool in the summer. It's pretty cold in the winter though and it dropped to 4C during my winter grow this year. I've not done any growing in the attic before but after going up there a couple weeks back I can understand the difficulties that growers go through. It was pretty hot and it wasn't even a particularly nice day. It looks like the rest of the week is a bit cooler so hopefully your plants will get a break. Yours should be fine. I think that it's only a problem with prolonged high temp sessions like with last years summer

Veg Tent Update....

We've got the camera back again! Mrs.F brought it back in one piece. Didn't doubt her for one second
Today's pics have been taken during their dark period and you can see the natural colour of them more clearly. They don't look bad at all and hopefully tomorrow the pots will be dry enough for me to pop them out and see if they need transplanting. I'm feeding them Canna Terra Vega at 300ppm every other watering now but will probably increase that next week. I forgot I had these nutes and they've come in handy for mixing smaller batches for the young plants. MegaCrop is great but it's difficult to just make a small, say 500ml feed for some young plants. No thrips in this tent that I can find today. I'll spray them still when the lights have come on and warmed the tent....

Phantom OG....

The POG continues to perform nicely and has relatively few problems to deal with at the moment. I did find a thrip this morning so there's that lol. Knew they'd be back. I think the nutes are under control again and most of the damage that can be seen on the leaves is from the thrips. These pics are ok but still dark and moody. I call it SuperGlumins mode! I'm still going to try to get some pics at lights out for y'all!....

That phantom is going to give a nice yield and what a cracking looking plant. Are you going with single buckets or the Wilma when you come back to the dark arts? :surf:

Thanks Lew! To tell you the truth I'm not sure yet but I'm trying to work out a solution for my needs. These 4 seedlings have to be in soil so I could use them in the Wilma system like I said I'd do previously but now I'm not so sure. I've got 2 weeks until there's a flowering tent free to use and I was thinking about putting the young veg plants in there. I was toying with the idea of doing either a single plant DWC or the next 4 strains in the Wilma. The only thing is that I don't have the next 4 strains yet but I do have a Critical Kush Auto that I could run in the DWC. I'm not sure what to do yet. I'm definitely coming back to the hydro though. I want to run hydro and soil together using just MegaCrop to see the difference. Of course it wouldn't be fair as the lights aren't the same and they'd be different strains but it'd be fun and cheaper using the same nutes for everything

Im really interested to see how the Megacrop performs in hydro. On their website they are offering a free 300gram sample so i might run a bucket next to my nutes and see the difference.

fully agree there prof. got the last run in summer done without too much damage but did slow the growth down badly on the worse patches. had doors open a lot and para levels at 20.lol
Been up to check them since the exhaust fitted back in and it def cooled by a bit. max was 27 but wasnt as hot here today. We are in a smallish town in a bowl landscape surrounded by higher ground slighty. we miss a lot of general uk weather oddly enough . all seems to skirt us. i do think the silver liner helps with sun on the roof issue too though. The stretch is on for sure now. suprised by their spurt alreasy. am hoping it means an early onset of those little hairs to follow. All looking so well now too. slight downward claw on a couple of random leaves so i have backed of on veg feed and gone more flower in case its an N issue starting. bought the ppm down to 800 too. fingers crossed it was more heat stress related
Heres a quick pic of the jungle forming tonight at 2nd transition day. so want to be seeing even a smidge of a likeness to yours mate.
