Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Hey 420! I'd just like to take this opportunity to apologise for not keeping up with everyone's journals over the last week. It's been a typical week from hell but I have some free time on Saturday which I shall use to play catch up. @Lowrider72 i never replied to your comment either. Thanks for cruising by buddy. Hope you're well. Now it's time to get on with the updates! First up we have the Phantom OG. I think I've sorted the camera. It has an automatic light temp adjustment feature which I was struggling with. To achieve this I aimed the camera right at the bulb and it seems better than when I was just aiming the camera towards the plant. I've been trying to take pics at lights out but I'm always caught up with something important, often child related lol. I think I lowered her nutrients in time a short the burn to the upper leaves seems to have stopped progressing. Her buds are pretty big already and have surpassed the other two in size. I just hope that I can get her to frost up like the LED grown buds. I checked the temp when I returned home from work and it was only 25C. This is because ive change the lighting hours in the veg tent so that they're off during the afternoon. Things are good with this one so far....

Color temp looks good and SOG looks great, just need brighter pics. It's a bit moody in there now.

You'll get sorted when Bingo is over!

Despite my attempts to combat the thrips they are still there....
In this pic I can see 5 thrips. Still nothing on any of the others. It's just this poor little lady who's suffering...
Thips will take 3+ weeks of spraying every other day to get rid of. Skip the milk, I don't think it worked last time. Put a layer of DE on top of the soil and bottom water for now. And spray with dish soap or iso/water.

She'll be finished flowering before bingo's over.
I'm spraying with the ISO water every other day on the veg plants but have stopped on the 3 flowering plants. Is the spray meant to kill the thrips on contact?

wow prof get better every update. love the os colour. Dont sweat time issues. life with little ones is never straight forward. hope things cool now matey.. glad you sorted the camera issue.

One of the sponsors, Dr. Seeds, added this little media bit of an interview with a guy named Bug Brain(Brian Spencer) on beneficial insects. It starts off dealing with spider mites and may lead to a bit on thrips. I haven't listened to the whole thing as I gotta run but it sounded interesting, if not boring, the first couple of minutes.

OK so I did listen to the whole thing afterall. Although I'll probably not ever get any of those pred insects if I have thrips or spider mites, I do like the landscape ideas(outdoor grows) he threw out around the 22 minute mark re aylssum and other plants around your girls to attract predatory insects.

I wish I could P but I'm on a tight budget so spraying is the only option at the moment.

Thanks GG! Mrs Flora has gone to a wedding today. Don't worry, she's not the bride. I've had the kids and my mother has come down to visit so I'm still waiting to get into the garden. Mrs.F has taken the camera with her so I'll have to use the tablet camera. Despite the cloud things are still pretty hot

Thanks Mr.S! That was interesting but I'm not sure how I'll obtain any of those mites or the beatle. Thrips still sound like a pain in the ass lol. There not actually doing much harm at the moment and I'm not seeing any flying adults anywhere. I've not checked the veg tent yet today but I'll bet that I'll find something on the SL 2. I know what he means about them being nomadic and travelling around the grow room. All 3 flowering plants are clear as far as I can tell and it appears that they are only in the SL 2's pot. How did your run go?

Veg Tent Update....

Hey 420! Mrs Flora has stolen the camera so we have tablet pics today. I really hope that she doesn't lose it. She doesn't have a great track record with looking after things and there is alcohol involved lol. I'm pleased to report that I was wrong when I said that I bet I'll find something on the SL 2. No thrips today that I can find on any of the plants. That certainly doesn't mean that we've won but it does mean that non of the plants are currently suffering. I think it's a case of control rather than eradication. As it happens I may have a grow room full of hydro plants soon and I think that will help. I'll get springtails instead but they're not as much of a problem. I always get springtails in hydro since moving to this house whereas before I'd never seen them. These 4 are doing great and I may going to have to decide whether to transplant or root prune soon. Before I water them again I'll pull them out of the pot so to get a better look so o can make a decision. Won't be long before I top them as well. Here we are today....

Gorilla Zkittles....

It's flowering day 48 for this baby. Frosty, stinky has some great colours. Not bad buds for 200w of lighting either. I think we have around 2 weeks left for this one. I'm happy so far....

Orange Sherbert....

She's my favourite again! #teamorangesherbert. Her buds are chunky and dense and have a great aroma. I hope that the other 2 seeds I have of this strain are similar. She has my preferred cannabis plant structure being short and dense. Out of the 2 in this tent I'd have chosen the OS for sea of green growing. I'd love to run this plant in my 10 pot dripper system. This one is also on day 48 of flower but will finish up slightly sooner than the GZ. I'm thinking maybe 10 days or so left....
