Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

I also had some issues on the leaves in my veg. tent recently. I managed to overcome this but some people here agreed that it was a type of mildew. I hope Prof. has some mineral deficiencies rather than mildew.

I reduced the humidity and trimmed plants to solve the issue. I haven't used any fungicide. The problem went away for a while but I am still spotting some red dots on my leaves in the veg. tent. The spots and affected area is smaller and weaker though.

I can't really tell what the problem is and stuck at this point. I don't want to spray my plants with diluted apple cider vinegar and whole fat milk or another fungicide. I have very stable pH for a long time and feeding my plants the way they enjoy. I ordered alcohol to sanitize the grow tent and still waiting for it. This plant will become a beast and I don't want everything to be perfect. I hope I can get rid of these spots completely :smokin2:

Any help will be greatly appreciated folks. Check my Blue Cheese journal for more info.

Hey TC. That does look odd. I don't think I have mildew as the conditions aren't right for it though that doesn't necessarily mean it won't grow. I'm sticking with a difficency of some sort for mine. I only have a few days left before I repot them so hopefully that'll do something positive for them.
Here are mine today. You can see what I mean about it being centred around the middle part of the plant more clearly. It looks like a possible manganese deficiency according to a couple charts that I was looking at. Here we are today....

The Gorilla Zkittles....

Although she's still surrering a little you can see that she's a plant with a bit of potential. I like her growth pattern and think that she'll make a good plant for training. She's a tough strain and is trying to push through her problems and carry on as normal. My next attemp to turn the tide will be a transplant in the next couple days. Fresh soil and bigger pots sound good to me....

The Orange Sherbert....

This one seems to be a little more picky than the GZ. She certainly hasn't enjoyed the last few weeks and although she has shown signs of improvement there was still some damage done to her. The leaves still look pretty sad and the deficiency seems relentless at this time. We'll be poping some more seeds soon and I'd like for these to be in flower by then. I'm thinking about running the next Seeds in hydro but that's not been decided yet, anyway I digress lol. The OS is a squat lady and has some very tight nodal spacing which is awesome. It does look like I'll be having to do a good defol on this one though to get the most out of her. That won't be for some time yet though so here we are now....

The Phantom OG....

It's hard to tell that this one has even been effected by the same ailment that has plagued the previous two but it's there. The first sign I saw that her growth is a little slow though it has sped up a little since the introduction of the synthetic nutrients. She has the slightest bit of leaf damage creeping in but you can't really see it with the camera yet. She's a beauty though and I'm liking her a lot at the moment. She's still set to fill the entire 3x3 tent in the next couple of months and I'm looking forward to growing the biggest plant that I've ever grown. Here she is today....

They're all pretty tough in my opinion. I've had a couple finicky strains recently that I don't think would have survived such treatment. Just gotta get some pots for the final transplant now. Hope you're doing well GG!

It'll be hard but I will do that. First picture had a more serious problem. I lowered the humidity and installed a fan inside the tent and that solved the issue until last week. They look kinda different but I think the first picture is a more progressed case of the second one.

I am growing in coco so it will be unlikely if I have any pests since the grow area has bug filters attached to windows. I don't think anything can come in. I had this problem with both plants but after moving the smaller plant to the bloom tent, red spots stopped forming. They striked back to the big plant in veg. tent last week. I don't think my case is a deficiency like Prof.'s.

I wiped the walls of the tent with diluted apple cider vinegar(1tablespoon/0.5l). If that doesn't solve the problem I might get some alcohol or Lysol to get rid of everything. I am considering foliar spraying with diluted vinegar as well.

Too bad we can't adress the problem directly. The affected plant is vegging for almost 4 months and I will be devestated if that big girl fails :smokin2:

if you notice bugs or suspect them. a mix of 20%milk and water will kill off ANY soft bodied critter and as long as it is used as lights come on should have time to evaporate too. Milk is something that nobody seems to know the benefits of on plants. used in your folier sprays it feeds them so much goodness when freshly made up. I have a ehole grow using aptimil breast milk in the mixes alongside real breadtmilk that my daughter didnt use sometines. It has so many goddies in it and farmers have had 20% increased yields when its used in fields on normal crops. worth a read up and research.
Hopefully your issue is contained now and only in the few leaves you showed.

I have done some research on milk but I decided to go with apple cider vinegar because as far as I know it is a more efficient way to kill fungal growth or spores. I'll keep trying other methods if this one doesn't work :bongrip:

milk works on mildew and mould spores too.

I check the underside and noticed a few very very small bugs. I diluted the milk and poured it into the bottom plate. I watered my plants before doing that to prevent soaking because I don't want to mess with the pH of the rootzone. I hope that will improve things :passitleft:

yeeeeeha. so want to kill off my current run to crack on with my barneys girls too now.!!!!

Most of the seed manufacturers in Amsterdam have recieved similar genetics with Barney's like Sherbert, Gelato or Zkittlez etc... Personally I went for the GZ because I am curious about the Zkittlez and went for the BG41 because I both love Thin Mint GSC and Blueberry. Royal Queen Seeds also has a new batch of strains. Still waiting for GHS though. They have a very wide variety of genetics...

In 3 weeks I will also recieve my Star Pupil seeds by MMS. Really excited to try this one :lot-o-toke:

Still waiting for GHS though
They've released theirs already. They've crossed SLH with several of the new popular strains. They've also crossed their GH Cheese, exodus Cheese, sweet valley Kush and another one that I've forgotten. They've crossed all those with things like Purple Punch, Wedding Cake and many more. I want a decent Cookies hybrid to use as a mother in the future and I'm hoping that this Phantom OG will fit the bill. I'm going to be drooping the BG41 soon as well. I'm thinking I may go down the hydro route for that one though. When you planning on popping those?

I told you. Don't do it GG! Just build an extension lol
I think the suffering two will really improve with the transplant, but this one especially. When droopy leaves aren't from wet or dry soil, an up-pot seems to work wonders!
I can't find anything else wrong with them. Ph is fine and the environment is almost perfect now. I've grown way bigger plants in smaller pots before but I'm still going to transplant them

LOL. Did they release these yesterday? Last time I checked was last week and there weren't any of them. Lets dig :lot-o-toke:
