Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Hey guys! Thanks for the kind words. It looks like she may be in labour now! We're off to the hospital so if you don't hear from me that's where I am

I think she's heavier than that now Mr S :)
:passitleft:
We're thinking of both of you! Best wishes Prof!
I reserve the right to change my answer when I know the weight.

Hey 420!!!!! Today's update is entirely non 420 related which feels weird but you'll all be happy to know that I'm a father to our second and last child. We had a little girl who was born at 7pm GMT and she weighed 7lb 10oz. We were told yesterday that we were going to be induced next Wednesday which would have been the 10th and not the 19th which would have been full term. This was because Mrs Flora had symptoms of obstetric cholestasis (Google will explain it better than I) which we had during our first pregnancy. Anyway, yesterday afternoon she started getting sharp pains in her abdomen every hour or so that would make her lay on the floor writhing in pain. By midnight it was happening every 5 minutes or so but she said it was probably nothing and that it will stop soon and she'd get some sleep. It did stop for about half an hour in which time I feel asleep. When I awoke this morning at 6am she was lying on the floor writhing about again so we rang the hospital. They said that we should come in immediately so we got ready to go and made it to the hospital by 12.30pm lol. I don't know where the time went but we somehow managed to get there 6 and a half hours later. Needless to say that they were a tad worried when we walked in the door all casual and calm. They thought that we'd had the child on the way lol. Anyway, after an examination we were told that we were well over halfway and that rather unexpectedly we'd be having a completely natural birth today. A little over 6 hours later mrs Flora gave birth. Man what a day! Thanks everyone for your kind words. It means a lot. Hopefully we can get this journal moving along again soon but for now I'm having a tiny break lol. That literally means a day, I'll be back tomorrow lol. Thank you wonderful people of 420!

Congrats Professor! Tell the misses she did a great job taking care of you during her pregnancy. :)
Lol! I did and she laughed :)
Congratulations to you both. Well pleased for you.
Cheers Lew. I'm relieved that it's all over. Or at least first part is lol
Congratulations to your new family addition Prof! All the best to you and the wifey and enjoy the rest as you both deserve it!

Again congratulations and best wishes to you and your family!
Thanks Dutch. Having a child is surprisingly much easier than having a heavily pregnant Mrs Flora lol even she said that. We're currently treating ourselves to a little rest but as we've been caught off-guard again it'll be back to business tomorrow. We've still loads to sort out lol

Cute, my kids stick to their daddy's legs too.

Congratulations and mazel tov Professor! I'm glad both mother and daughter are doing well.

Thanks Shed! They're doing well but they're still in the hospital whilst I've had to come home until the morning. I can't wait to get back to see them :)

hahahaha glad all is good with the wife and new prof.
I love the birth bit. We get to see our princesses even before their Mums. Seeing them crown and their first entry into the world has me blinded with tears everytime. Their first crys for comfort and warmth are a joy to finally get to hear and seeing how quickly they silence when given to mum is truly magical. Well done mate. Your family have buzzed this community more then any journal, harvest or competition result ever could . Thankyou for sharing such a wonderful event with us . Peace ,love and prosperity for your growing family Brother.

So cool man! Glad everything worked out for you and the family. I was at work when I got the call my son was coming and I got stuck behind a funeral procession so a 25 minute drive took me over an hour and my mom kept calling me to tell me that my girl was flipping out because she thought I was gonna miss the birth. I was a mess lol but I made it in plenty of time. But congratulations and enjoy this time, it goes by way to fast.

that sounds about right lol. Glad you didn't miss it. The irony of it being a funeral procession that you got stuck behind though! :)

Hey 420! We have an actual update today! Back to business it is. I've not been keeping the best eye on them over the last 2 days for obvious reasons but they're not doing bad. I'm not 100% happy with them quite yet but they've lost that sickly look that they had when they were at their worst. There are still a few patches here and there that are displaying deficiencies but overall the synthetic nutrient plan seems to have worked for now. Like I said, I'm not there just yet but I think we can work out how to fix this now with what we have rather then resorting to extreme measures like changing mediums and nute lines mid grow. The cloning is still an option but I'd like to try to keep my life simple for at least a few weeks. Well, here we are today....

They've just been watered in these pics as the pots were pretty dry. I was a bit worried that I'd get stuck in hospital and all my plant would dry up but the timing was almost perfect. The GZ and OS pots were a bit dryer than I would have liked but it wasn't to bad, the plants were just a tiny bit droopy and no leaves dried up on us. So tats about all I can fit in for this one this evening as I'm still running around like a headless chicken lol. Happy growing everyone :)

Bonus Baby News....
Mrs Flora and our new daughter are still in hospital for now and will be reassessed tomorrow. They're both fine but the doctors are being cautious and have decided to keep them in for observations until maybe Saturday. It's a bit annoying but it does give me a chance to catch up on a few things that we didn't get to do before. Hopefully it'll all be over soon and everything can go back to normal, well, you know what I mean lol :)

I’m so glad your girls (all of them) are doing good! Very courteous of you newest sprout to wait just long enough for you to get your nutes situated. Looking like they’re on the mend. Congrats one more time Prof, I’m so excited for you to bring your sweet baby home!

Best wishes both the missus and Cali Flora! I'm sure they're anxious to be home and settled in.

Plants look much improved, and don't sweat changing nute lines mid grow if you have to. I went from Fox Farms to MegaCrop mid-flower and the plants didn't notice.
What this guy said. Lol.

The hospital always made me stay for 3 days minimum. And they insisted that I name my children before they go home. Some people...

Did she luck out and take after her mum? Take care and get some rest. :green_heart:

Cali Flora's not actually that bad lol. I did actually mention to the other half that maybe Flora was a good name....she didn't think so lol

Did you not like Fox Farms? When I was first learning to grow I kept seeing Fox Farm products but I didn't ever get to use any as they were really expensive over here. I don't see them advertised as much nowadays and was wondering if they were perhaps going out of fashion

Thanks HH. It does feel like things are slowly falling into place now whereas the other day it felt like things were starting to spiral out of control. I'm pretty behind on journals now and can't wait to get stuck in again. I think that soon there'll be plenty of time in the early hours of the morning to play catchup lol :)

That's crazy! Not the staying part but the naming. My daughter still doesn't have a name and won't need one until she gets her birth certificate. With our first that wasn't until about 2 months after she was born

This one did indeed "luck out" as you put it and looks like her mother. The first one looked exactly like me but without a massive beard! We will be very lucky if this one has a character similar to the first though. Our first is so insanely easy going and happy all the time. She try's to high five everyone she passes in the street which can be quite annoying sometimes lol but it's mainly pretty cute. She also doesn't like getting up in the morning so we have to get her up most days. I'm told that this is an incredibly desirable trait in a toddler lol. Thanks VG :)
