Barneys Farm, Purple Punch, Organic Living Soil

Right guys. Got some worrying news and something I havent had to deal with. I've got alot of pests on my hands unfortunately all come along at the same time. I've found spider mites on my plants very early but they are there! Im gunna attack with neem to begin with. I've also got the fungus gnats coming back and I've got there black flies going around I thought they were thrips but looks slightly different to pictures on Google. I'm not sure what to do at the moment I think the only option I have at the moment is neem. All and any advice is welcome!!

Lighting I will be going for the Lumatek zeus 600w Pro lights when they land in the UK currently out of stock.

These girls are growing at a promedous rate! I've never seen growth like it!

Right then guys and gals here is my armory! Let it begin!!!! Show me your war face!

Hypoaspis miles for the soil. These guys go crazy for the fungus gnats that are trying to get going and also should help knock the thrips out.

Amblyseius Cucumeris, another form of predator to work the top greenery hungry for pretty much every and any pest walking around.

Before I use this I will be using my neem for the next couple days. I have also purchased the SB plant invigorator. A organic foliar spray that properly tells everything to feck off. Once I've used this stuff I'll leave it a day and send all my troops in.

I've also got some sticky traps for the adults thinking they are safe.

Also on the final assalt I've recently acquired a load of fresh pine mulche that will work wonders so that will also be going on.

I think its safe to say these pests picked the wrong farmer to mess with!!

Girls are rocking!
The growth of the purple punch is crazy quick and not leggy either nice spacing between nodes and lots of them. I thinned out the middle last week and applied first coat of neem last week, followed by a second treatment of neem today. Got the humidity up to 60% the mites I can hardly see any so something is working. A couple of the lead collars are becoming far too dominant so I might top or super crop. I reckon we are 1-2 weeks from flowering.

Rewind!!
So had to back track a step today. Having just one layer of trellis wasn't working and I was wasting valuable footprint in the tent. I removed all the trellis net frame and wired up the lower net I will install that next week. Today I did a second topping on alot of the major tops as they were getting a little lanky and making my canopy uneven. Once they have recovered I will then super crop to make an even canopy set at the 1st level of the trelis net. Once installed I will train colars horizontal until I fill the screen. Once there we will start the magic of flowering!

Tree alert!!!
OK so purple punch is going very different to anything I've grown before. Or maybe its the technique. I topped all main collars and removed some of the large fan leaves only 2 days ago. They have not stopped and gone mental. I found them today praying to the light and have moved up 8inches! In 2 days!!! Drinking a litre of water a day.
So going to leave them alone because Monday I'm going to beat them up one last time! Plan is to super crop them into trellis height. And install the trellis. This time I will remove everything under the trellis no exceptions this time! I have notice a very slight tip burn and a curve of the leaves which tells me roots have reached the end of the containers and hit my nutrient spikes. They don't like it but will get over it in a couple of days.

Flattened!
Tonight all of the girls got flattened bent and spread out under the trellis. We had a couple of casualties but nothing they wont come back from. They have been completely cleared under the trellis. Now to wait for recovery and then grow on the new collars that will start to form. Then the fun begins and time to flower!

Hey mate. Yup haven't seen an insect! And the sticky pads took care of the final flyers. Its all clear now :). Before I flower I will remove the thrip x sachets and spray the whole lot down the SB invigorator clearing everything and anything off. The new fans are helping aswell which is nice. I reckon 2 weeks before flip. I'm hoping to get my lights in before then!

Ha ha, you made proper work of those insects, I've seen people really struggle with them...hope they stay gone for ya.

So what? Are you waiting on the lights being delivered, or waiting for somewhere local to stock them?

Oooh yes! I don't mess about with that kinda thing lol they sa is you see spider mites hit em quick and hit em hard.

Lights are become a pain in the ars! My local hydro shop says they have them coming when they get them in stock. I get 10% off when paying on card so really want to go with them but they are taking the piss. I want to flower my girls under LED because the temps in my room are too high and I run the risk of stretching too much. Also I need to start my auto grow at the same time because they need to be chopped at the same time and I found out today they got lost in the post! So yes all being delayed atm!

That's a pisser mate, kicking your heels waiting for others.
Don't wait to long for your local grow shop man, many grow shops will give you a discount cash or card when you're spending that kind of money. Many of the regulars down my shop get 10% off just for showing their face a couple of times.
You're buying big ticket items mate, money talks, you've got the power bud.

Are those autos for outside? That'd be a shame the season is ticking by.

Hi guys. Much has changed in the tent! I have a load of pictures to show you. I've been so tangled up with every project you can think of. Currently running 9 girls outdoors to veg, 30 autos ready to go in the ground, clones coming off a purple punch to look after and 8 more in this tent. One could say headless chicken! Haha. Anyway. We have upgraded the tent putting 2 large stand alone oscilating fans directly at the tent to increase air flow. And we now have in position some beautifull Lumatek Zeus 600w PRO LED lights. My god are they good. Full spectrum and ultra officiant!
These are only needed to be put on 75% to produce enough light for these girls which has freed up my wallet! And only raised the temps in my tent by 1°C! Full spectrum with 5 years warentee and amazing build quality! P.s. im not sponsored!

Next where have the plants got to..... soooo im an idiot and delete my images as I go along so I've only got recent pics. They have had a total of 9weeks veg and have grown beautifully! I am super impressed with purple punch so much better than the glookies. They suit my grow so well! The internodal structure is perfect spacing and strong stems are going to create some monster bud! The second trellis layer was installed and filled. Everything under the first trellis gone. We have flipped to flowering a week ago and have defoliated twice. The growth she puts out is incredible! So much so we have filled an entire carrier bag with leaves in just over 3 days! I've found that purple punch stretches around 10" so trying to keep it cool and light intensity high to bring that number down a bit. Currently they are now drinking around 2 ltrs a day and growing just over an inch a day! There trunks are double the size of a clipper lighter! They have just started shooting pistols so we are proper into flower now! Enjoy the pictures and ill keep you more updated from now on. Especially my @Kimber015 ;)

Looking fantastic. I did 8 week veg and had nothing like that. Made many mistakes though. How’s the humidity with all of them? I’m struggling a bit lately with mine, dehumidifier is working overtime.

Yh went over the 8 weeks in the end and finnished up at week 9 of veg now in week 3 of flowering which is going insane! Pictures to come at the end of the week. The trunks are now 3 times the size of a clipper. Humidity i have the dehumidifier working and keeping it to around 55% which is a tad high but I've got alot of wind coming through so I'm not worried. If your having difficulty I found mulche your soil helps alot and also defoliation helps a huge amount. I dropped 10% himidity with that. What you up to now days?

2-3 weeks left on Glookies, DsD33 and Strawberry lemonade. I did mainlining on them and has just been a huge failure. Left it to grow too much before tying things down and it just wasn’t flexible, was too tough on it and caused splits across most of the plants right at the first topping. The Strawberry lemonade is the only plant which had no problems. Yield looks average at best, but bud on the Glookies particularly looks and smells fantastic, is over powering anything else in the tent, sticky too! Started 10 Pineapple chunk on the weekend, so looking forward to growing them.
