Barney's Farm - Mimosa X Orange Punch - DWC

It looks brown in the photos, between the cotyledons (the lips if that is a mouth shape)
It does look off color to me as well on that most recent shot. I've killed one recently by overwatering that rockwool cube and not paying attention to it.
Would damping off cause the fungus looking white substance on the membrane?

How does she look today @Ke0ncp ? Is that membrane still on there, and how is the color?

Is there membrane holding the cots together? They were trying to open in your earlier pics.
Yes that’s exactly what it looks like to me too! I took a look again this morning and they are trying to open and there is another set starting to grow in there it looks like.

Yeah looks a little funky for sure. Will see how she progresses over the next 48 hours.

Membrane is still on there and color is pretty much the same. If she doesn’t work out I have 1 more of these seeds and can start fresh :)

I keep my rockwool just damp, not soaked. I learned my lesson recently when I had them way too wet. The seedling emerged, but started looking off color and the coty's never opened up. It just stopped completely and pretty much rotted. Even using paper towels to wick out the moisture didn't help on that one, it was too late. My fault entirely, I drowned her. If it's too wet and saturated, the root has no reason to go anywhere to grow, in addition to oxygen starvation as medscientist mentioned.. MY humble opinion.

Ohh well did notice today that the root has emerged from the bottom of the rockwool.

What’s the consensus, let her ride through the weekend or drop another seed?

It’s so early on that I’m leaning towards dropping another seed and just tossing this one. If unhealthy at the start and I just going to be chains her the entire grow?

Being a long time Hydro grower, Overwatering is my Main enemy. I won the battle with Rockwool cubes after several disasters, then switched to Root Riot cubes because the O2 retention dynamics. I like EASY!

The last picture very well could be just shadows. The white stuff? I am not sure if it is growing, or bits of membrane? But I find it strange that the Cots closed up. Hopefully she opened up overnight and I can chalk it up to Paranoia (of Rockwool)!

To answer your question, if it IS growth, then YES, too wet, and not enough O2.

I am hoping for a positive update this morning!

Current status.

I’ve got to take the kiddos to one of their basketball games then haircuts. If she looks the same when I get home I am dropping a new seed :)

This pic gives me Hope! Try to remove whatever is holding her closed to allow the true leaves to emerge. The Cots are just early food and won't matter when she is open.

I agree.
I feel I just have to say this, be very very gentle if you try to remove the membrane and don't try to force the cotyledons open. Let them try to open up on their own. :thumb:

Yeah I tried this morning with no luck. I did not want to be to rough with her.

Ok will let her ride then! In going to see if I can get some root riot here by tomorrow from the zon just in case!

Sometimes, if the membrane is dry it adheres to the cotyledons. If you gently brush it with a wet q-tip it sometimes releases, or at least softens it enough for them to rip it.

Hey now!! That’s exactly what it seemes like is that it’s dried in there. Will give that method a try!

What @Chuckeye said ⬆️
Sometimes when the membrane gets stuck you have to help it off
Just adding moisture will sometimes rot the ends of the cotyledons & they will fuse together
The skewer will gently force them to part
