Babygirl’s Sour Livers DWC Hydro Grow Journal, November 2021

That's awesome, I'm in a similar position. I tried the same thing with the light company that makes my non-sponsored light but so far they haven't bitten. I'm trying to get from my sales guy to a PR or advertising guy.

it's a nice feather in your cap. They should make a signature banner of some kind for when people successfully do this. I think it's real worthy of that.
Aww - thats sweet! Thank you :)

I agree @Jon - keep pushing!

Geez. I was just here yesterday. Back again today and already 3 pages behind!

Everything went ZOOM after your intro of the shelf! :laughtwo:

Lol - that shelf totally rocks!

Day 11 (Liv)

  • Tent temp: 74F
  • Humidity: 44%
  • Res temp: 67F
  • PPM: 330
  • pH: 5.4 …
  • Water level: slight drop
Liv’s next set of leaves are finally showing!

Day 2 (Lemi)
  • Greenhouse temp: 83F
  • Humidity: 61%
Not looking too good - one leaf curling under, and the other has a spot. I may have overwatered yesterday, so I’ll let that rooter dry some today and then maybe just give her a small sip tonight.

Cmon Lemi fight girl you can do it, sending that positive greenthumb vibes your way :goodluck::green_heart:

Liv looks great....Lemi....maybe don't water tonight if you don't have to...easier to recover from under than overwatering

Congrats on the new addition (the baby not the shelf)! And once a seed breaks through I would only water if the very bottom is getting dry, and only bottom water then. Keeping the whole plug damp is just until the seed sprouts, and after that a wet plug just encourages damping off. The tap root will be sucking up the water now, from the bottom.
Thanks Shed! Yup, I’ve already decided that she needs to dry out a bit, so I also took the humidity dome off her as well; figured that way she’s getting direct light instead of thru the plastic of the dome AND the fans in the tent may help as well. *keeping fingers crossed*

Oh true...I didn't realize there was a dome on there! Definitely no dome once it breaks ground.
Copy the no dome after breaking ground for future reference!

  • Tent temp: 74F
  • Tent RH: 53%

Day 12 (Liv)
  • Res Temp: 69F
  • PPM: 320
  • ph: 5.8 (not adjusting - going to let it ride since the change from the previous day is slight)
  • Water level: further slight drop; tomorrow will do a full res change

So today when I was in the bucket taking readings, I found two 2” long ROOTS on the side of the bucket and another 1/2” root coming out of the bottom of the net pot!

:eek: I think I may have inadvertently cut those off yesterday when I set the net pot on the rim of the bucket doing the readings :eek: … yes, clutching my pearls as @Trala would say!

I certainly didn't think to check because I thought it was too soon - LESSON LEARNED: always use a spare bucket and NOT the rim of the res!

Anyway, in light of this, tomorrow I’m going to do a full res change and up her nutes … not sure if I want to do 1/2 strength or full (she’s on 1/4 strength now). Thoughts? Suggestions? She’s doing well and her 3rd set of leaves are reaching out further today; color looks good to me.

Day 3 (Lemi)

Poor little Lemi; I dont see any change today, so I’ll just keep an eye on her; may add water to the tray that way if she’s thirsty she can draw it up.

Liv is so pretty. Give Lemi time, see what she does...think it's best to just continue going up a little w nutes...if you're at 1/4 try a 1/2...

Good morning J Bird :)

Your photography is on fleek lady!

Seedlings are like newborn babies…. And omg how I hate new born babies! Much like mothering, I don’t really start to enjoy the grow until my plants are self serficent sarfishent able to hold their own heads up and at least try and can tell me what they need.

Lol - Thanks T! I totally know what you mean! I’ll never forget the first night at home with my first child; he cried ALL NIGHT and I couldnt figure out why … I fed him, changed his diaper, held him, rocked him, sang to him, cried with him from exhaustion - NOTHING WORKED … after 8 hours he FINALLY gave up and I passed out.

I was really a kid myself when I had my son. I was 17. He is 31 now. And I hated it for the first year. I mean I did it, took care of him and I loved him. But I didn’t enjoy it. I hate the sound of a baby crying so he basically spent his first two years in my hip.

Thanks @Krissi1982 - I’m gonna try to pull Lemi thru; I’m really happy with how Liv is doing!
