Away's First Grow - DIY Closet Grow - TopLED Mars II 80x5 - 2014

B.real i wouldnt dare doing 2 feeds in a row this time.. Im stepping lightly, if they ask i'll know though and then i can feed more.. we'll see what happens.. No more freaking nute-nukes!! :wood:

that's a good idea. I usually start feeding asap, but this time around I haven't been and they're still good and green 3 weeks into life.

I would have to say if you have not giving them any nutes then the soil was abit hot, can you take a photo of the soil bag? Or where did the older soil come from? Try and get some nice Organic soil with low ferts, make sure there is no time release stuff in there otherwise that soil will stay hot for up to 3 months.. But all that aside the new growth looks very nice, have you dropped the light today?

I have given them 0 nutes as of now. I dont have the bag but you can find it on google easily, the soil i used was Bio-bizz Allmix. Somewhat a 50/50 of reused and new soil. as they direct on their homepage hehe.. but some of the old soil is from other plants that have been fertilised of course, so possibly some leftover liquids in the soil from that, even though i flushed it pretty good (i thought).. Well the only one still seeming to struggle is the black russian, the others looks like they're moving on a little bit now.

Also check your tap water report for your local area online, I use tap water and I bet you do to, An organic soil should maintain a good p.h regardless but old soil and hot soil may be throwing your p.h off, then you could have a nutrient def.. Maby nute lock out... Im on a tight as hell budget so I gotta do as much reserch as possible so nothing goes wrong, this info is just what I have read from some respected growers, Have you got a thermostat with high and low?

I Ph my water before giving it to the girls, trying to hit around 6.5 or so. For that i use lemon drops (SmokerJoe's advice) it works great.
If i dont do it i'll have water of around ph 8 which is bad :)
My thermostat is dead lol, it died in the beginning, and yes i know.. bad, bad me for not buying a new one yet.. but i'll get one soon i promise! I just havent had any problems really, so i havent taken that so heavily, even though i know it's a MUST!

When your plants are 4"-5" tall and have 5 nodes of growth I recommend you begin feeding 1/4 strength nutrients and gradually over several watering work up to full strength nutrients. Your larger plants appear ready to receive 1/4 strength nutrients. I use General Hydroponics Flora series 3 part nutrients that can be mixed for all stages of vegetative growth and flowering. General Hydroponics Flora series can be used with hydroponic, soil and soiless mediums. I use General Hydroponics Flora series nutrients and use nutrients every time I water unless I am flushing.

Hey KingJohn, thanks for the input, me and Kjell are talking about starting to use generalhydroponic's for our soil grows, as he has been experimenting with it on his outdoor girl hehe.. So funny you should mention it ;) As of now i use Bio-bizz for my girls, which has been just great as well, besides from me misunderstand directions hehe..
Tonight i will start 1/4 strength nutes if not a little lighter on the two biggest ladies, and give the rest of the girls plain water. They've been drying out nicely and the soils almost crumbly on some of them, so i think it's time ^^

Aaaaand here's some pictures Kjell sent to me, so you could see why he is feeling proud of his achievements so far :)
I think they look great, and i can tell you this... that room smells soooo funky :thumb::cheertwo:

A couple of the whole room

all those plants look great. please link us to those journals.

that one under the led, was it topped?

Nice, how much lemon juice do you use?
I give my plants 1.5 litres of water each..
I read that ph in soil is not as necessary, and normal tap is fine, my tap waters PH is 8 as well but I never lower it.. I have P.H down, but I read that using it can be worse for your plants then a higher P.H... So idk its abit confusing sometimes lol, Lemon juice sounds like a nice safe alternative lmao!

And yes get a thermometer!!!! I need one that tells me humidity aswell, is that a hygrometer or what?

Lemon juice is what I use Cannabomb. Our tap is around 7.6 and it only takes a small drop of lemon juice to get a gallon of plain tap to 6.5 PH. If you're using any nutes check your PH after you've concocted your feed. You may not need to adjust it.

Awsome, is lemon juice concentrate ok?
I apply my nutes to the soil and then add water, I dont have liquid plant food, just normal fert from the local shop. I test my runoff sometimes and get around 6.5-7, but its just a match the color PH test so its hard to have an exact reading... My plants seem to be doing fine with it so thats good, but I could be causing some unnecessay stress.. Ill adjust PH from now on

Thanks B A R!!

Concentrate is fine Canna; the same $1 bottles of it you get from the supermarket. I also use the color matching PH tester. Once you get the hang of it you know your PH is right without even testing it but I still do about every third feeding just to be safe. Take a look...

what wattage are you running?

The mars is a 400 watts unit, with 80 x 5 watt diodes.

- Canna, i'm using the same ph-test kit as BAR is and honestly what i do is, just grab that lemonjuice thingy you get in the supermarket, and give it a quick squice into the bottle, idk.. like 5 drops or something, just real quick. that usually is enough.. and like bar, i dont really test ph anymore, it's easy to get a hang of how much you need ;) but do the test the first bunch of times.

On another note - F*** I CANT WAIT FOR KJELL TO HARVEST!! :cheertwo::tokin::cool::blunt::partyboy::party::ganjamon::rollit::hippy:

Would you recommend the same feeding with autos? Feeding every watering seems alot with autos they are so sensitive.

The amount of nutrients that are required is an individual thing with plants. If this is your first time growing the strain or using a new brand of nutrients I recommend starting with a 1/4 strength dose and progressively working your way up to full strength nutrients until slight nutrient burn is detected on the tips of the fan leaves then slightly reducing the strength of the nutrients. If you are using a fertilizer for other plants please make sure your choice also includes all major and micro nutrients, You may also require a calcium and magnesium supplement.

You can use either pH down, lemon juice or vinegar to lower the pH of your nutrient solution. I have a combination thermometer and hygrometer for each of my grow areas.
