Autoflower Myth Busting Thread

Hey ok soo need some help with with a couple of things i heard and follow when running these autoflowers.
Firstly, can I transplant? I was told I can't transplant in any way and it needs to be planted in its permanent home.
Secondly I was told I can't top or mainline.
I was also told I can't Deleaf.
So help me out here Train I've grown every auto with these rules in mind..

Transplanting is a no go it will screw you sooner or later.

I choose not to top.. there will be a fella in before long named beast and he loves topping autos. I think with the genetics being stronger these days they take it very well.. I'm still and probably will always be an LST guy just how I learned and I can get a shit load of tops and never pinch or break my plant.... personal preference

And I always defol my autos but here's my logic...

You want AS MANY LEAVES AS POSSIBLE DURING VEG AND PRE FLOWER.... with auto's every day counts so the more leaves you have to photosynthesis the bigger they get faster right?

.but once I begin flower I start defol.... just not like the photo guys I don't go in welding a machete and take off a bunch... I look at her and her potential bud sites and take aye 10 at a time slowly and only the ones covering bud sites... when in Veg training and tucking is the key for me

I got some work ahead of me after work tonight hehe

Just started playing with autos and wanted to start following along this great thread. Thanks to all that shared all this valuable information.

I will be growing hydro with a 100 liter cooler as a DWC. For this run I am switching to AN nutes, using the sensi grow and bloom with the hobbyist additives. I will be using a 3x3x6ft tent with two 300 watt LEDs

Was wondering if anyone growing hydroponically had dialed in their feeding schedule with AN nutes or does everyone follow AN's schedule?

Do you apply lst along with topping or only topping?
I have 3 seeds left one from each strain and i think for the next grow i'm gonna try topping them and compare with current grow where i try lst

It germinated in the NFT system all ready to go.....1" cube in the 4" cube, spreader mat down, flow rate set, nutes in the res....only thing I need to do is cover the NFT tray to block light from the roots but I would have done that already if I had a spare cover. I just dropped a seed in the 1" cube and left it :)

just a thought as i do not know your wool experience *LOL* you do remember to cover up the wool with lightproof material to prevent alges from forming right? back when i started trying out rockwool as medium i forgot first time and they turned pretty damn green :D but that was properly mostly do to using a top down dripppin system.

Is algae a problem?

I've seen plastic covers for Rockwool cubes but am thinking they seem like an unnecessary cost and extra step that risks contact with the trunk and restricting growth.

(Raquel - day 69)

Wonder how neat and tidy a plastic cover would make that look now lol....or are there other covers?

Don't get em, all they do is trap in moisture and promote even more algae growth. They only come in white so the light leaks right through.
