Auto Topping Thread

Lsd-25, 25 days old. Not too big, but looks wonderous.

The topped one is the Auto California Snow at the top-right.

That's 10 days after topping. I do a bit of leave tucking everyday too.

The 2 others (Amnesia XXL auto bottom right and AutoNight Queen at the bottom left) were not topped, but I removed some leaves at the top.

It is not that bushy compared to the others, not yet at least. The AMnesia XXL will be topped in the other grow box. it looks like it can become a monster :-)

I don't think I have the room to do LST though..... not in that box .

Don't have the room to lst? Lst generally opens up more room.. tie the plant down to it's own pot to create a canopy.

Yes but I mean, It's going to be too wide to cohabit with the other plants, those need some space too. No ?
I can still try but I don't want to make something that will make the other plants difficult to grow. You see what I mean ? What do you guys think ? (the AMnesia XXL is already all over the place with its big leaves)

Ur plants need some space to grow and good for even Airflow around ur ladies.so u have the right idea mate its a small space for 4 monsters lol;)

Yeah, looks really cramped the more I look. Are there any fans moving air around?

Yes I have a big oscillating fan blowing all the air they need. It is a big one (40cm, ie almost 1.5 foot) . It is the one I use for summer for myself actually, and it is outside the box. I use it at speed 1, and can simulate a wild wind by putting it in speed 3 or even in "turbo mode" :-) I think it is all good in terms of ventilation. The stems of the plants became thick and solid in 2 or 3 weeks only because of this. In the morning, the kitchen smells all good :-) The extractor is useless when this fan is on :-) (yes it is in the kitchen, so it is also cleaned very often - box floor and kitchen floor with bleach etc ) . The only "con" is that I have to manually close the box everyday when it is sleeping time for the plants but it is not a big deal (that's just after my waking up and a couple of coffees so.... simple morning routine ;-) ) . (there, you got all the details now , lol ;-) ) )

Has anyone added in support frame pieces in tents? Particularly in the top to give another spot to hook the light to.

Edit: Just ordered some support pieces, couldn't find them at first.. Wonder why:volcano-smiley::lot-o-toke::rofl:

I have two of those small 20 cm clip fans ,but they don't oscillate and I can guarantee that the plants prefer the big fat oscillating one.
The small one had to be put outside too anyway :-/ (on a microphone stand) not enough room + i've read everywhere that oscillation is what allows the plants to breath through their stomatas :-)

U might wna get some little fans mate to house in the tent come bud time to prevent bud rot mold etc;) and ur ladies will love u more;)

Not yet but I should do that during flowering in my other big box. I do not know if they sell spare parts in shops though. Otherwise, it's going to be DIY, with chains or wood or anything that can stand the weight of whatever i put on it.

If it is not very heavy (less than 10Kg) then you might try metallic wires twisted to make it thicker and more resistant.

But if it is for a Mars Hydro (I think that's your project right ? ) then forget about that, even the box frame are bending and I had to reinforce them by wiring several frames together (as you might have seen in my current journal).

That should be easily done with pvc piping

Agreed, but the end to fasten them anywhere I want would be difficult to diy, for me.
They were less than 10$, so fine for me.

and I got some broveda packs for 1$ each. lol

I have posted a pic of my other fan in the other box in my current grow journal (the one about 10 strains/mars 1200 ...)
(i don't want to "pollute " this thread to much with my stories ;-) )

Xeno good work and ad far as i am aware u can buy the xtra poles for top suport just have to find them as u say lol;) good job

I forgot to mention, I actually found some on RogueHydro for 10$ with the plastic end cap pieces as well. Not a bad find, I grabbed some Broveda packs as well.
