Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

Well. That is a tough one.
Normally, I would advise to use the advertised dosage and timeline. I use those products as well.
Grow big is like 2-3 tsp/g, big bloom isn't as hot so the normal dose is the same.
Calmag depends on your type of water and if you use LED.

Wait until a week after you see pistils to start the tiger bloom.
It focuses on the P of the NPK and the dose is 2-3tsp/g.

I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest as well, I poked around and see you have Vigoro soil.
It looks really really hot, as in way to many nutrients.
It looks like it may have stunted the growth of the plant.

Being new to growing I would stick with soil, but something more natural.
The pro-mix Vegetable and Herb Mix recomended by NorthernPanda would be great.
I don't know if your home depot has the Black Magic* products, but I would look into them.

Day 58 CMXL automatics on the right. 13 day difference, 5 times the size.
I say that with love.:love::peace:

*(This is not a shameless bump for these products.
Just a recommendation after 5 minutes of research on the requested topic.)

Thanks for all the advice. No offense taken. Your plants look great. I have made some mistakes and learned from them so hoping the next grow goes more smoothly.

Yeah, the Vigoro prepared soil was the best I could do here. I was afraid of it being hot so I cut it with quite a bit of Perlite. The tests didn't show anything abnormal except a deficiency in N. Just added water for the first month or so before starting the nutes two weeks ago. I am using LED lights and RO water so more cal mag?

I have some Ocean forest coming for the next grow so I am hoping for a better result. That being said, if i can get something out these plants, I would be pumped. Just trying to get some smoke to help me through my busy work season coming up.

The nutes in that soil are slow release. They were meant to take a long time to dissolve.
I suppose flushing more often then, supplying with correct nutes may help.
It should be needing more P right now at day 45. Back off on the N if you can.
Flush then use big bloom and tiger bloom if you can.

Mykos would help the plant balance and absorb the nutes.

I can't link it but do a search for this.

Cool man. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

This isn't the same Vigoro soil sold in the US. As ingredients just had black mountain soil and leaf compost. Regardless, I will follow your advice and see how they do. Like I sadi, if I can get something out of them, I will be happy. Thanks again!

The girls seemed have liked it. Did a sledgehammer flush and followed up with the recommended nutes. They were waterlogged for a day or so but perked up nicely after. Most importantly, it looks like the flowers have picked up some bulk. Just going to water with a light feed of cal mag when they dry out. Thanks for th advice!

I'm already thinking avout my next grow. Just received a bag of Ocean Forest. I have access to coco and perlite as well. What would be preferred recommended mix?

A lot of people seem to get creative.:p
The hempy bucket is popular if you have time to research it.
There is no wrong way to do research in these forums. ;)
Ocean forest has perlite in it already, but I've seen some add more.

the problem with FFOF is that we dont have control on the release of nutrients ... so it can go both ways in terms of easy happy grow or a fucking nutrients nightmare, the strain has some say in this matter ... i would make a mix ... id mix 50% OF with 10% perlite and 40% cocos but since i dont use OF my opinion is just that ...

They do indeed exist. Lol.

I suppose I could do the colloidal silver route to make feminized seeds instead of doing regular seeds. Less chance of genetic variation that way.

That is what I would do (am going to do in the fall). You are good enough to do it. Auto Fem....whatever strain you got. Just don't use the self-pollinate seeds (I've read, they tend to be more hermie with stress, etc). All the research says to use two plants.

Hey guys freshly subbed! Quick question I'm a month in to growing my girls
Here they are, AF candy cane
Very New to the game so my question is can I start to LST now or am I too late? They are showing preflower goods.
Thanks all! check my first grow out too and any advice would be sweet!

Can someone comment whether I have to have odor control for Fast Buds Pineapple Express Auto?

I grew some C-99 and got both Grapefruit and a Pineapple from them. The C-99 Pineapple was really funky smelling, though not an odor problem. I had to disturb the plant or put nose close to smell it. Was wanting a nice Auto Pineapple, but cannot have an odor problem.

I've a small grow box of cardboard and balcony light to use and had decent results with the C-99 and Bubblegum Autos (produced more than I had thought on Bubblegum and no odor problems)

Also...I used LST for those plants, but was considering topping this time. Is the recommendations for best results at 2nd nodes? Or would 3rd be better?

Thanks for helping an ignorant person?
