Auto Growers Unite: A Community Thread

Hi there buddy :)

Looking for some advice , I am growing 4 x white haze auto and 3 x white diesal auto .

Does anyone have experience growing these strains and any idea on how much yield I should be aiming for per plant.

It's my first grow and they are 16 days old .

I transplanted them today, just looking for some tips and advice.

PH - 6.2
Temp- 24 degrees
Nutrients- Advanced nutrients , micro , grow, bloom , also starting feeding it some cal mag !
Growing in coco coir
And using clay pebbles

Thats a nice setup you have there. There are too many factors to guess total yield. The breeders information on total yield per plant is not very accurate, it portrays growing in a perfect environment. First grow I would say expect 2-4 oz per plant and be pleasantly surprised when you get a lot more.

On a side note you may want to stretch your pH on occasion toward the low end 5.5 every couple of weeks or readjust to 5.8. Being at the top end of the coco range your not maximizing nutrient uptake.

Ok also with auto do I have to change the light schedule to 12-12 or the whole life they are on 20 -4 ??

And also any tips on topping or pruning for a bigger yield? And if so when should I top it ?

Kind regards!

I run a 20-4 light schedule. Some people do 18-6 or run it 24/7.:hmmmm:
You don't have to change timing.
Just ensure you keep the light at the correct distance throughout the grow.

There is some debate on pruning, lately I let them stay on till they fall off.:peacetwo:

I just topped two Cream Mandarin XL autos from Sweet Seeds, above node 4.
I let them establish enough so I wouldn't snip the new shoots whilst cutting. :hippy:

You can leave the lights on 20/4 for the entire grow.

Many chose topping and/ or LST for increased yield. Check my posts on this thread for alternative and visit my journal to see the application of it.

Cheers from the darkside

20/4 all the way .... and keep in mind if they are under led they will need gallons of calmag... if you wanna top them its best to top above the third node ... if i would top an auto i would go for a microtop ... thats where i carefully with a pincer remove the smallest tip possible to reduce the shock and i would only do it when im 100% sure they are healthy and loving life... on my Amnesia haze AUto i didnt top but i do heavy lst ... and instead of pruning i try to tuck the big fans under so new growth gets all the light it needs ... you can check in my journal link in signature

as for the yield many Diesels are notorious for their single cola plants if its the case it can affect yield especially when first timer ... but with autos in cocos under led and decent food , if you manage to get no problems at all you should be able to achieve 50-80 grams per plant easely but only when ye feed her 5.8 Ph ;) 6.2 is the extreme upper limit

I'm doing some Dark Devil auto right now

Decided not to top them but will do some LST to promote lower branch growth

20/4 is what I've always done

I like Autos cuz I just toss a couple in my veg tent and watch em bud

I've had three successful grows-one auto Barney's Farm Pineapple Express and two photoperiods a Seedsman Blueberry and a Female Seeds White Widow Big Bud. So relatively new and always reading books, here and other online resources. I'm wondering is there any downside to growing say two Pineapple Express (back by popular demand) a Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookie and LSD-25 all autos other than according to the breeders website the last is a thirsty girl. I guess what I'm wondering is perhaps foolishly will any of the plants impart any of their odors tastes on one another or I am putting too much thought into this. Thanks ahead of time for any and all help.

Nah the plants won't really effect each other in the ways your thinking or at all really. Just make sure you have enough space and be prepared for plants of different sizes and harvest times. Once grew 6 different autos in one tent and while it all worked out they kind of outgrew their space . Link below if interested

So I watered them well and they seem to be doing a little better. Humidity is around 58% with temps ranging from 72-79. I raised the lights (300w and 450w) to 24 inches. However, I am just not need seeing the growth from them that I would expect to see. Looking at other autos with the same amount of time in soil, these look tiny. The soil is drying out really quickly with the exhaust fan and small clip fan on. Should I turn the exhaust off when the lights go off to keep moisture in the tent?

The only thing I can think of that is holding them back is the soil. Being outside the US, I bought the best pest free prepared soil I could find and augmented with 30% perlite. I can't find a soil PH tester here but the soil looked good and was supposed to feed for 80 days. Am I just being impatient or do I have cause for concern?

I would add that this soil is draining really (maybe too) well. A day after watering when I stick my finger down in the soil the first 1 inch is dry with the soil under being moist but by no means wet. Maybe I am not watering enough as in the amount of water? I gave about 32 oz to each. It seemed enough at the time but maybe it just drained down without really absorbing at the top where it is needed for the roots. Suggestions?

I am currently trying to figure out how to get some Ocean Forest down here in case these flame out :/

:Namaste:I'm gonna go out on a limb here.
Cheap tends to run hot, is loud, and I have never heard of that brand.

However, new maybe what you are looking for.

May have something nice for your tent. :thanks:

I know someone who is madly possitive about the growant... and 70 quid for a 600w led ... that sounds to good to be true so usually it isnt

Yea im currently using the g5 growant led light and its working like a charm. The guys over at Growant make some great lights and there customer service is awesome. I couldn't be happier with my light. I highly recommend them if ur lookn for a new light.

Hey Folks. Wonder if I can get some recommendations for the next grow?

What are the earliest maturing autos currently....still having potency?

Saw 60 Day Wonder and some Low Ryder strains, but no sure about desirability of them. Yield not big importance...close to an ounce?

Thanks

Those are normal. Nanas look like this.

Whew! Great news. Was worried I was going to have to pull her. Thanks!

My next beginner's question is what nutes should I be feeding? For the past two weeks, I have been giving 1/2 stregth dose of Grow big and big bloom with a light feeding of Cal Mag every other watering. I tested the soil last week and it looked low in Nitrogen. Plants are a tad yellow but nothing crazy. Continue feeding as I have been? When do I add Tiger Bloom?
