Another month? Wow! Imagine those colas will be massive!

Hi group, hope everything is going well,

I haven't posted much to this group but I've been casually lurking. Here are some white widow autos that I have growing outdoors and may be of interest to the group. They are getting very close, so it's trich watch time.
I believe the big one is day 68 and the small one is day 47, but I could be wrong about the second one. It is so far along, I think it may be older by a week.

There is more detail on my grow journal. I also did two indoors earlier in the year from the same seed order from nirvana. This is my first time growing autos, above ground pots, seeds, or indoors. Previously I have grown clones in ground so I'm pretty new to a lot of this.

Interesting comparison, the big one was topped and trained and the little is almost completely untouched, except for pulling maybe 5 fan leaves that were showing spots. Actually I will pull the larger older leaves, about six or eight, to let the lower younger green ones get more light, today. And one grew in ground, one in container.

I fimmed the big one and didn't do it well. Next time I will top it cleanly. It gave good lateral growth and although it seemed to slow the vertical growth dramatically the plant probably reached its max expected height. It had kind of a closed shape because the meristem emerged but was much smaller. So it's leaves shaded the interior too much and I did quite a bit of defoliation. It was grown in my garden bed with garden plants, so it got a lot of water, the fan leaves got pretty big (that's why they're called water leaves, who knew :).

These are getting gooey to the touch and smell great. The trichs are still coming and are clear as water on the big one, and some slight cloudiness on the smaller. We have been getting our summer gloom here, which is good for slow ripening I think. Yesterday the high was 62 and cloudy, so no direct sunlight all day. Ah, the Bay Area summer. Today the sun may come out in the afternoon and it will get into the 70s.

Smaller WW on the left in the 5g pot, bigger one on right in the ground. The large one is about 39 inches tall and spans about 30 inches, the small one is 30 tall and 12 wide.

I have other plants in the pictures, so I've tried to get some angles to isolate them.

The larger one has 9 primary branches and good budding on about 9 secondary. The primary are all about the same length. I defoliated to try to expose all the bud sites and did not remove any bud sites.

The smaller one, in the foreground has the classic pine tree shape. Here in like a mighty sequoia, about two feet tall :)

Here is one of the colas. I think they are pretty well formed for a small quick plant. You see the flowers along the secondary branches.

Here's how it looked after topping. It was the fourth week.

And here are the little ones I grew indoors, at maturity for more comparison. They lost way more fan leaves during flower than the outdoor ones. I fertilize heavier outdoors, and more for in ground yet.

After removing fan leave you can see the structure.

Here are the indoor and outdoor, planted six weeks apart. One had just been topped a week or so before, you can see the fluffiness of growth from fimming. Wrong technique here IMO but worked out. I took the indoor out to meet the outdoor siblings on the day of their harvest. The indoor were 70 days, although one took a few days longer.

Long post, but I hope you find the comparisons interesting and informational. If you have suggestions, they are always welcome.
:thanks:

These are pics of a bagseed auto grow from April. I grew early miss & NYCd autos & got these seeds. Harvested early, so I wonder if that had anything to do with the stature/development of these plants. 55 days old. Guess I'll keep going with it, but damn I hate wasting nutrients for a couple grams. Errrrrrr.

Smells and looks great can't wait to test it next weekend!
Looking nice mate!! I got some pineapple express auto seeds, just waiting on my super skunk auto to finish. How long was your overall grow time? On the website it said flowering was only 30/40 days or something crazy?

I know this is a bit late 420 Mararacas but you need to get those gals into bigger pots ASAP! At that size, a plant in a Solo cup is getting root bound. I usually just figure that the mass of the leaves equals the mass of the roots and those are already past the edges of your cups.

Question. I have 2 photos growing and added to autos to the mix. My photos will be getting put on 12/12 in about a week or so. Will that make my autos flower. Kinda worried. Want to get the most of my autos not a couple of grams because they flowered to soon
