Ask Us Anything: Sharing Knowledge 420 Style

Rule of thumb is 50w measured at the wall for each square foot. So youre looking at maybe 1000w hps. You could also look into cob led which would be cheaper to run.

I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow and will send them off. I need a lot of info HahH, I want.my second grown to be big yield so I'm not screwing around this time hahaha.
I used coco last time and wasn't that impressed
Attic, summer/winter? Heat dissipation/cooling? Heating/airflow? Good info from pennywise. Other things to think about that consume power.
I am thinking 3-4 autos. It's a attic space to a bigger room but would corner a part off.

This diagram represents what's occurring within your substrate. The list of either cations or anions is a good reference when trying to balance your nute solution. I'm not a biochemist so I'm not sure what wording to use to explain this process. But essentially your medium is taking some of the cations and anions and leaving you with the resulting runoff. And like I mentioned previously if your using soil as opposed to coco or peat you'll have greater amounts of both C&A retained in the soil. Not sure if I'm even going in the right direction with this answer, so I leave it at that. Just like you can this ask Snid Anything thread , a search engine is always a good tool to expand your knowledge of specific topics. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Wanting some advice on lighting for a new grow room. Led ? T5 ?
Which is the best energy saver, low costing on my power bill.

If power consumption is a concern;

Well I will be running a air conditioner to cool space as well, cool air distribution. And a couple fans or one

The air conditioner will definitely push your bill through the roof. My last grow was in an attic space and I was only able to grow in the winter months because the summer heat up there is just too much. To run an AC 24/7 was not an option for me so I chose to shut it down when the summer months were upon me.

Well here in northeastern Canada we have super cool night most of the summer and till about 11am. I am going to see what happens, . I kinda thought running a ac unit would be hell on the bill haha. It's great advice though, from someone that went through it . Thank you so much eh :)

If moisture isn't/won't be an issue, maybe try looking at a cool air humidifier?

Oh ya I will for sure:)! I think I may even have one lol

We got one in our house, not even for growing. It get's so effing hot and dry here in the summer, we use it in the living room.
I swear it makes a noticeable difference in this hot, dry, dusty living room. It's not going to pump out like an a/c, but if your space is confined and compact it just may do the trick.

Be a shame to not be able to grow anytime of the year.
