Ask Us Anything: Sharing Knowledge 420 Style

You have 30 ft3 (cubic feet) of grow space, so a 30cfm exhaust fan would move the volume of your room air every minute, which should be more than adequate.
Is there any harm in over exhausting the cabinet? Cause the temps still run a bit high and was considering adding another 240 cfm fan. Btw thanks for the quick response, i love this site!

You are most welcome. Removing the total air volume in your cabinet every 7 seconds is EXACTLY how to lower your temps, provided that the exterior ambient temperature is exponentially lower than the interior temperature. You might want, w/a 240cfm fan, to make sure your passive intake vents are say, 1.5-2x larger, to avoid negative pressure in your tent.

You rock man, I've been looking around everywhere for an answer, thanks again!

Again, my pleasure.
Also, always intake fresh cold air from the bottom of the cabinet, & exhaust from the top, where heat rises to.
Yeah i put the intake vents at the bottom of the cabinet, if you feel like taking a look it's in my signature, wouldn't mind some knowledgeable eyes on it, always looking for advice as a new comer

Cabinet looks good so far!
Cut a hole right in the roof & mount that new fan on the outside, on top of the cabinet, opposite & away from the intake holes, pulling air up, through, and out. That should sort you right out. Dig the cabinet, sweet DIY job! .

Hey guys, I'm doing a first time grow and didn't do as much research on a light as I should've so I just got a 50w LED which obviously I need a better light. I'm in a 5ft tall 4ft wide 2ft deep tent, I've done some research and idk if I should get the 300w or 450w viparspectra, I'm only doing 2 plants but I see some people say you need more than 300w for flower? I'm just a lost noobie

I would go with the 450 myself you want the penetration

Don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure that LEDs still create a notable amount of heat, so if you get the bigger lights, ensure you have good ventilation to and from the tent.

Yes they do I agree. But like any other light less are my fav to grow with. Cheap to run, less heat creation, and you don't have to worry about blowing ballasts lol
