Thanks guys I appreciate the help. They were growing nicely by ph-ing to 6.3ish so now I'll try 1 watering this way. If I see any negative effects I will flush with straight 6.3 RO water. I kinda like the fact that the runoff is perfect this way but ultimately its about what the plants like. Instead of lemon juice I think I will just add a pinch of worm castings to ph my water on straight water days.

Ok grow friends looks like one of my seedlings had a rough stretch. Pretty sure it was wind burn. Noticed the first set of leaves reaching up on either side. But now I'm not sure if it is heat stress. Fan was moved and she's a little further away. 3 inches or so under a 45 watt cfl. Just not sure if she's too close. Thanks in advance for the help.

This morning.

I assumed wind burn b.c there's substantial twisting in addition to her taking on a v shape

Keep a small fan on her bud, raise the light some 8" above. It looks like heat stress.
Had someone telling me I didn't have enough wattage. Maybe they meant for the entire grow w. 3 dinky cfls? But duh. Oh well should be okay now. Backed her off a lot.

The other girls 2 inches from her 20 watt and thriving so I think you're right just a little too much light for the baby. Thanks again!

You can move the light a little closer with no heat from the bulb after she recovers.

Do the hand test. If you can keep your hand in place for 30 seconds without any discomfort, the little ones should be good.

I've always kept my 45watt CFLs within a 6" range, sometimes closer, and have never had any indications of heat stress, even with my thermometer hitting 100+deg F in the box.

I guess I got lucky with my first grow but when I found the ph of the distilled water it was

so I PhD the water to 6.6 and watered enough in solo cup to get runoff and run off is 5.0. My question to the. Community is how do you guys deal with soil such as ff that puts the ph down even if it’s at 8.6 water and the run off comes out to 5.0. Should I be phing my water at 9.5 so when the run off comes out it’ll be about 6.5?

here’s a couple update photos of her. For a week and 4 days how do you guys think she looks? Also I’ll be feeding with ff but when it comes time for them to need it

Dont use distilled water. Bottled spring water is what I use when I need something quick and unchlorinated. I use this to pop seeds too.
If your using synthetic nutes like FF Its got salts and crap in it so checking run off wont help, never accurate. Just make sure its PH'd at 6.5 going in. I use FF by its schedule and they couldent grow better!!!!!

Hey Folks✌ I have a question. Im starting a TLO style full organic grow in smart pots. Im using RO water. Its PH is 8.0 so i use organic lemons to bring it down to 6.3. I just mixed up a 1 gallon batch of water. After phing i added 1/2 cup of worm castings. It plummetted my ph to 4.2 but my runoff came out at 6.4.
Is this ok or should I add the worm castings and then adjust my ph back to 6.3. Runoff without worm castings is about 7.1 but the plants seem happy.

I say adjust it after all has been added

Has anyone used "dead bug" which is Spinosad for spider mites? I'm beginning week 8 of flowering and was wondering if this stuff could contaminate my buds. It says that it's for all kinds of fruit and veggies but I'd like a second opinion.

Awesome thanks. I had them both at 2 inches and I think it was way too close for the 45watt. Hoping she can make a full recovery!

I can't figure out what is wrong with this

Gonna need better pics. Everything's purple

It's random leaves have another plant in there with it and no signs on it. City was messing with water and had some dirt in water but wasn't an issue until my girl watered last time and put the nutrients in figured it might be ok waited a few days and it's getting worse haven't nutrients sense
