Seeds need three things to germinate. 1. Moisture 2 Air. 3. Darkness.
Some guys soak em in water for 12-18 hours, and then sink them. I've had good results this way as well.
I like the Paper towel method these days. I soak them for 12 hours, and then put them in a paper towel on a plate. I spray water on the paper towel 2 or 3, sometimes 4 times a day and a good one to last all night, and keep the plate in the warm dark place. Top shelf in my laundry room by my garden usually works quite well I almost always have roots within 2 to 3 days. I like to keep the towel good and wet, but not totally swimming. Remember, they need air too. I let it dry till the towel is still moist, but I don't see any water on the plate when I tip it, and then spray it again. Check em every morning and plant when the taproot is about a half an inch long. Make sure you plant it with the tap 'upward'. Yes...upward.

Awesome, thanks mike..definitely going to try this method tomorrow if I don't see anything in the morning. :thanks:

Hey there ChronikP, I would have personally germinate them in a damp paper towel before I planted them. Not to say it won't work what you did thow. Once they germinate or sprout then put them in your soil about 1/4 in down with the tap root facing down. They will germinate faster in a damp paper towel. Since it's only a couple of days you could still do this. Hope this helps and someone here will also help you. Good Luck!!

Thanks a lot Bud, gonna give the damp paper towel method a whirl tomorrow most likely. Seems like a much better way to go about this! :green_heart:

Just be careful when you stir your soil. Use a chopstick or something, and be very gentle. Go slow. If you see anything at all, I wouldn't touch it. Re cover it lightly and give it some water. Leave it. Best of luck Chronik!

well..as i said before..my grow space is 1.5sq foot and 1.7m height..i just upgraded my lights from 2160 lm to 5400 lm and i am gonna put another 2600 lumens.. TOTALLY i am gonna have 8000 lumens for 1.5 sq foot grow space..is that good enough finally?..:D

and i forgot to tell you that i grow 1-2 plants..so is this amount of lumens good for this grow space and this number of plants?
It's Not only a case of Lumens. It all Matters about the distance of light source to Leaf. Light intensity decreases very fast when you Put your light more away. Bring your lights as Close as possible to your Plant without burning or bleaching them. Then you can have good results with small lights in small spaces. Pay attention to wavelength of your Lights too.

Two questions on my Kurple Fantasy #1... cut the large fan leaves or leave them? How long do you think until its harvest time?

I'm guessing around July 1??

When looking at your pics, I don't see it finishing by then. The majority of your pistils still look green which tells me she needs more time than what you're planning.

Oh and i forgot, you have to get proper lighting for growing two plants. Get one of These mars hydro or viparspectra 250w hps comparable models at least. Thats what i would do

I am growing four plants under two mars300 but I have had to add a little extra lighting. My next garden will be two plants with one mars300 each.

At first glance my little cotton balls look white but under magnification the "green" pistles are actually developing an amber color which I have read is a good thing.

Cloning questions.

First, does anyone have a preferred guide to cloning? I have the Cervantes grow bible and there's a lot of conflicting information out there.

Second, I want to aim to have seeds and clones close in veg. Ideally I'll take 2 clones and both will root, and germ 2 seeds and both will pop. How can I time it to get them as close as possible in veg? Maybe start the seeds now and wait a week or two to take clones? I want to flip to flower ASAP and will likely have up to 12 weeks of flowering - my 24K Gold says 10 weeks on the package. So plenty of time in veg before space opens up in the tent. Cervantes says take clones 2 weeks into flower - between rooting and revegging that would allow seeds plenty of time to catch up.

I recently purchase a digital ph meter. They have to be calibrated in a solution with a known constant ph. If you are interested in getting this critical piece of testing equipment be sure to get the solution required to calibrate it. I have been unable to find a way to create this solution myself. I have resigned myself to the fact that 420 magazine has turned me into a mad scientist.

I have been playing with the old fashioned method of testing my water and have gotten a consistant reading of 6.0-6.5 at my kitchen faucet. That has lead me to this. I have almost perfect ph crystal clear no chemicals of any kind mountain spring water right out of the faucet. Would any experienced growers consider purchasing water like this if I were able to bottle it in plastic gallon jugs, four per case, at my cost of packaging and shipping plus $1.00 per case? Its more about sharing my water than making money to me.

A very good thing indeed, but the majority of all the rest of the pistils should also amber (if not all) and then you begin using the scope/loupe to watch the trics. Once your trics hit the range of profiles you're looking to harvest at is near, begin your flush and watch the plant. I can't see this plant finishing in the time frame that the poster wants to chop by. This is why older growers emphasize on "plant language" as every one is different, even if the same genetics, atmospheric changes from grow to grow change all bets. So it is best to just watch the plant. Kind of like birthing mothers are given an expected DOB, that's just an educated guess, but the mothers body determines when in most cases.

Are there any known pathogens or bacteria in the water?

Time is no longer a factor to me. I just do whatever my plants tell me to do and enjoy the show.

My understanding is continue the veg nutes as usual, I dont know if there is a specified time but mine got the first recommended strength dose of flower nutes at excatly three weeks. I am at three weeks six days flower.
420-magazine-mobile1203204723.jpg

Running autos you (imho) wanna run veg nutes until there in FULL flower like this plant here got her last veg nutes yesterday
420-magazine-mobile1670952107.jpg
at day 46. The resin is so that the plants keep growing and stretching more so the plant gets bigger and so then does your harvest. Also autos aren't good candidates for drying out between waterings. If you do that you don't get enough nutes into them to really get the punch. I'm no master and have been trying to break my 3 oz's per plant (auto) ceiling. But I get there easily so I know a little lol. Good luck #global420
